I recently acquired one of these to help me secure a section of carpet which needed to be anchored after fitting a carpet to vinyl threshold bar in my daughter's front room.I bought the Stanley Sharpshooter because I had watched a similar tool being used by professional carpet fitters. Feeling chunky in your hand, it's very quick and easy to use. Press the spring loaded staple guide upwards, and slide it backwards out of the handle. Slide your staples in, and reinsert the spring loaded guide back into the handle. Ensure the guide is clipped securely in place, and you're ready to go! super handy tool i have used several times already. Only problem is more with my aim.. because you have to hammer it i usually end up having to whack it a good few times to get it in exact position needed.. I overcame this a couple of times by placing the head directly where i needed to staple and then hitting the end with a hammer, was a bit worried to begin with i might break the actual stapler doing this but this thing showed no signs of being walloped continuously and is still functioning with no problems whatsoever. Its a very sturdy built item and quickly becoming one of my main tools used daily. Very good buy. Would recommend. Arrived promptly and well packaged.

Took it out of the wrapping and loaded it up with number 10's and tried it on a narrow strip of wood wack wack wack wack [and not using that much force] every staple buried itself into the wood perfectly!! I read in the reviews and noticed the misprinted 12 and purchased 10 thank you to all the people that pointed that out on Amazon feedback!! very happy with my purchase!! best price on the internet.

Heavy duty and durable and reliable holds 2 magazine of staples in the cartridge which saves you reloading constantly. It really drives the staples home.Side note be very careful with your fingers as it does go through finger nails and skin even with gloves on so make sure your hands are well out the way! It’s easy to get complacent with what is a dangerous and powerful tool

Can’t make comment on use yet as I’ve bought it in advance for a job. Just thought it was impossible for others to know the description is wrong on staples. It can only take 6,8,10mm NOT 12mm as we are now stuck with a pack of 12mm. Will review usage later in the month

Great tacker, does the job that I needed it for.If I had to say something negative about it that it’s heavy for the size but probably needed to do the job it’s design for.So far seems very robust, I would recommend this tacker for the price

Good weight. Can be a bit temperamental when using but you have to get the impact angle right. The kit was very good when working in confined space with limited strike distance and set the staples into 22mm chipboard flooring properly.

This Stanley Hammer Tacker is first class and replaces an old wornout one. This arrived the day following my order. If this tool lasts like the last one for 20 plus years I will be happy. Amazon gave very quick responce to the order!

No, I'm only an occasional stapler, but for those jobs where you need to do a lot, this is a must. Instead of tiring your hand muscles with a normal stapler, you just whack the staples in with a hammer tacker ... magic!

This is real good tack hamme. Happy with purchase and would recommend it. Felt a little heavy but all tack hammers are around this weight after research them. The year warranty is brilliant too.

I have no idea when i will ever use this.. its seems like great quality, I am a fan of stanley products. no complaints. again another tool for the dusty untouched tool box.

Says plainly on the instructions6,8+10mm staples onlyIt ain't Frickin rocketI use it for underlayDoes exactly what it says on the tin.Who needs 12mm staples anyway?

Easy to use. My holding stapler exactly where you need a staple to go, you just hit the head of the gun with not too much force to achieve the desired result.

Great product. I almost wish I had more items to tack down... I think rhus item can only be as good as the staples used... I used tbe best I could find.
