... on a paper sticker on mine.I think that's a warning. As many reviewers have noted, this needs a fair bit of strength to fire, mainly because it's got a big heavy springy thing inside it and if it's held firmly in place when the squeezy thing is squeezed, it's likely to go in with commensurate force - effectively.I have a vision of someone murdering with this and then claiming "it went off accidentally!" in the best Agatha Christie tradition. It can't. It won't. To murder someone with this you'd have to beat them round the head with it, during which procedure it STILL won't go off accidentally. It needs a very determined effort to make the thing go, and I doubt many kids could use it, for example, but when it does go it works really well.I've had a couple of cheapies, way back in the past and these didn't need anything like as much bicep to squeeze the squeezer, but they didn't have anything like as much penetrating power.I think some folk may be struggling with the trigger so much that they are lifting the stapler OFF whatever they are fixing. This is a guaranteed fail. The stapler needs FIRM contact AS the staple is fired otherwise the staple will bounce. - Newton's third law of stapling.Someone broke this on first use?I'd hate to meet him (her???!!!)head on in a dark alley with no passing room, all green-skinned with trousers that don't fit, broken Buick under one arm...Unless you've picked up a QC faulty model that's been assembled incorrectly or constantly use it in sandstorms or in the rain, I would expect this to outlive any purchaser. I'm presuming Arrow haven't gone the way of all British Industry and are now outsourcing their staplers to be made of tinfoil in Chiwan? Mine proudly says Made in U.S.A and Saddle Brook N.J.Hey - I just noticed a date low down toward the front on the L.H. side - 2007Maybe due for a light oiling on the reciprocating flange wobbler?Great piece of kit. Finally, I can't believe how cheaply Amazon are doing these. I. of course, paid double this a few years ago and it gets a fair bit of use, so I can seethe with anger till it breaks and then buy a new one more cheaply or I can pretend to be philosophical. By the time this one breaks the price will have gone up anyway so it's hardly worth fretting over.(seethe)5 stars (Bah!)

The other Arrow staple gun in our house has been here for most of 20 years. While it is no longer shiny and new, it still works as well as the day we brought it home. For anything but the most simple tasks, I'm not a good (or frequent) do-it-yourselfer, so a staple gun is something we use only a couple of times annually for crafts projects or light tacking, usually of paper or cloth items to garage drywall. This model has a nearly identical look and feel (down to the pressure required to activate the stapling trigger) as the one we purchased a generation ago. It's all-steel (not a surprise), made in the USA (slightly surprising for a modern mass-market tool),and out of the box it loaded easily and delivered an entire 120-staple load without jamming.Note: The OEM staples that ship with this are relatively light duty (8mm / 5/16"). Consider beefier ones if you are working with heavier/thicker materials.

Hello I worked for this company for 19 years up till 2000,so i know the inside out of ArrowThe T50 is by far the best staple gun in the world, you must bear in mind that Arrow invented the tacker as we know itand no one has ever come close to equaling them. Yes it might be old fashioned looking, but it works fantastically, works for years and is so tough that you can beat it to death and it will go on working! So buy it with total confidence and you will have many years of trouble free tacking, and those who say its rubbish and it broke, either didnt read the instuctions properly or simply shouldnt buy this product! go buy a cheap plastic one for a £1 NB this price on E bay is fantastic!you wont buy cheaper for a genuine Arrow Tacker

Looks and feels heavy duty and well made (Arrow being about the top brand in staplers it makes sense.) Have used it numerous times and jammed a few times but not as often as other staple guns I've tried. Only one drawback is it takes a good strong hand to push the handle down (my wife was unable to do so.) We previously had Craftsman and they were much easier to use but after having 4 of them, and all of their spring mechanisms breaking (and don't think about trying to open and repair it as you'll never get it back together again,) I won't buy another Craftsman staple gun.

This staple gun is a classic. There are some tools that define the genre. Stanley knife, Swann-Morton scalpel, Bahco adjustable spanner etc etc. Well this staple gun is "the" one to get. Mine is 30 years old. I inherited it from my dad, and the design is still pretty much identical 30 years later. You do need a reasonable amount of strength to use this gun. The spring is very strong, so for things like noticeboards this MIGHT be overkill. For fixing netting to outdoor fences, upholstering etc then the gun is ideal. It will fire a staple into pretty much any wood.

Don't try to be cute and convince yourself that this is not a good product. Being the best selling staple gun in history and solid performance history will make you a fool for even thinking about buying a so called "better" brand. Because there is none. You will see videos in youtube of people saying they got a bad unit. For all we know, they dropped it 2 million times or whatever deliberate abuse they did to the gun outside the regular wear and tear. After you come across this review, add this your cart and complete the order. Simple as that.

I have been very impressed with this stapler. I needed one for my work as my last one was starting to be a bit temperamental after 13 years of use. I researched the most popular on the market, and this was constantly mentioned. I liked the fact it could hold sizes of up to 14mm, the deep staples, and as far as I can see it's all metal no plastic and feels like a quality item. The handle is quite "heavy" to use as I've only got small hands, but I still feel this was a very good purchase and should easily last another 13 years!

I bought one of these 25 years ago for use in my trade as a carpet fitter and just last month it finally became unusable due to lots of heavy use and wear and tear, I always kept it well maintained and it has stood the test of time. I could'nt believe it when I saw the price of a new one on amazon was only just under £17.00 because I paid more than that for my old one in 1989. this is a quality tool and my new one feels just as good and well made as my faithful old retainer.

Yes, this is a really strong product and I have used it on my allotment to tack lots of bird netting etc. The supplier AMAZON is great, although deivery was not as fast as I would have liked. However there was a Bank Holiday between ordering and delivering. Nevertheless I would certainly reccomend this stapler to anyone,as it can be used for numerous jobs with great results

23.3.2014

For the price, this is a great piece of kit, purchased to tack bird proofing netting to the wooden framework of a berry cane cage at the allotment. The tool accommodates several different lengths of staples, has the ability to drive the staples into hard wood, and the quality of the tool promises a long working life.

Bought this to replace my previous Arrow staple gun which had finally died after 20 years of use and abuse. The replacement could have been it’s twin. Tough as old boots and happy to bang staples in day and night. I’ll get another one in 2040 or so, if I’m still strong enough to use it.

Great quality product! Would highly recommend for a long lasting item. It takes a bit of getting used to. Had to watch a youtube video on how to feed it once it needs a refill (am I the only one?). Otherwise super-strong, heavy-duty. Does what it says on the tin!

I have had Arrow staplers before so when my electric stapler (not arrow) stopped working and a replacement also packed in i returned to manual power and found this to be as good as my other arrow staplers which are for cable and carpets.Good quality product.

This is the second T50 that I have owned, the first one went for a walk after about 5 years hard use. This replacement is of the same build quality, this time I shall keep a close eye on it, so it stays in my toolbox.Very good action and rarely jams.

Good, strong, powerful stapler. Just the same as my father bought 30+ years ago (still going strong) makes short work of reskinning chairs, fixing polytunnels and restraining cables. Use with padded gloves to avoid RSI in the finger joints though...
