I already have a Nail gun, the Makita AF505N, but needed a stapler so I chose this Silverline 633524 as it had quite good reviews and I thought that it would do no harm to have a backup nail gun.Comparing the Maklita to the Silverline, the Makita is more than double the price and fires only nails. However the Makita's build quality is far superior, it has a quick release system for jammed nails and it comes with a case. In the time I have owned the Makita it has never jammed. When it comes to firing nails the Makita also wins in that it does not leave a mark on the wood and the head of the nail sinks flat with the surface of the wood. The Silverline 633524 arrived before I got any staples so I tested its nailing capabilities first. It fires fine, trigger is a bit flimsy, but it never jammed. The negative is that it leaves a 1mm dent in the pine wood the width of a staple. I tweaked the trigger/nozzile and didn't hold the gun as hard up against the wood and this reduced the dent, but did not irradiate the problemAs a stapler the Silverline 633524 is a real disappointment. In the manual it states that it takes both Type A and Type 90 staples (I thought these were the same staple type but on further research they are not). I bought the Silverline Type A 10mm staples thinking it would be safer to go with the same make. After loading the staples the Silverline 633524 jammed every time after 2 to 3 staple shots or the staples didn't go into the wood properly and looked liked a squashed staple (only way I can describe it). When the Silverline 633524 jams you then realise there is no quick release, so it takes a while to remove the jammed staple. As it jammed so often with staples I eventually gave up and used clout nails with a hammer instead. On further research some people have mentioned that using Type 90 staples fixes the jamming problem, so I have order some to see if this does fix the issue. Conclusion: I would give the Silverline 633524 5 stars as a nailer (when you consider the price) and 1 star as a stapler, hence the 3 star result.I received the Fixman Type 90 staples today. Fired 20 staples into pine wood and it did not jam. So, I have increased the rating from three stars to four, loosing one star for poor instructions which resulted in me wasting time and money buying 5000 Type A staples, which I now have no use for.

I bought this to go with my new Stanley 25 litre air compressor to make some trellis, I had already ordered a Stanley air nailer from another supplier but I thought I would take a chance on an inexpensive stapler. This is a very inexpensive nailer and stapler, the build quality is basic but it is mostly metal and surprisingly robust. It does not have a rubberised end so it does mark your wood, not a problem with trellis. The trigger is very crude but works and it has a bsp male connector, not a euro fitting, which I have simply swapped over with a less used tool as my compressor has a euro connection. I had a complete nightmare loading this with Silverline's 90 staples as the minimal instructions assume you will magically know how to do this. For some reason I couldn't get it to work hanging the staples over the bar and decided you needed to put them inside the loading mechanism. Do not do this as it will jam and you will learn how it is all put together when you have to dismantle it. This is surprisingly easy with the Allen keys provided and once dismantled and put back together and putting the staples exactly where I had initially, hanging over the bar, it worked perfectly. I have now extensively stapled some pine trellis, with out any jamming and I now know how to dismantle the firing mechanism if it does jam. Comparing this with the Stanley which is almost three times more expensive it is clearly more crudely made but it works well. I have now tried it with nails and as I suspected it works fine although it leaves a stapler sized mark as do all combination stapler/nailers (which is why I bought the separate nailer, which does not). If you want something for fine woodworking, with rubberised handles and fancy triggers and a case this is not for you but if you want something for more rough and ready work you cannot go far wrong for the price. I would have given this five stars but the instructions are pretty poor and for some reason it did not work until I had taken the firing mechanism apart and put it back together. However I will give it four stars because of the satisfaction of taking it apart and putting it back together and it working and the fact it fires staples and nails very effectively.

I'm not great at choosing what to buy, and much to my frustration some purchases can turn into major research projects. This turned out to be another of those episodes. I eventually went for this item due to price, reviews and it's flexibility ability to drive home both Brad's and staples. The reviews say tacwise are great - but they are more pricey, and I couldn't find one to do both jobs I didnt want two.Having tested it, I'm really impressed with the tool, it's a nice weight and feels great quality in the hand. It has a handy gauge that tells you how many staples you have left and the power can be increased/ reduced. Changing the fixings is very easy, contrary to what some people have said in reviews - they must not be able to open and close a door without instructions.Things to note - you don't get any staples or Brad's with it. The instructions both online and in the manual are not clear about what to buy. Simply search "18 gauge" and buy them. I went for tacwise Brad's and fixman staples ( which are slightly cheaper) but both work fine, no jams etc. Incidentally they fix your item very firmly, I tested it on some cloth and struggled to remove the test piece - I'd imagine ideal for upholstery work etc.You get very little damage to the wood from the tool and once driven home the staple is about 1mm below the surface - so perfect for sanding etc.If in doubt, I can't recommend this air stapler enough, great value for money, excellent bit of kit.

Amazed at how reasonably priced this tool is. I've probably been fussy with removing a rating star and this is solely for the long drawn out procedure required to remove a jam, the small faceplate needs to be removed with a supplied Allen key.I've used over a hundred 19mm staples and almost 200 35mm nails to date and not experienced a jam yet, both nails and staples fire in as expected, there is a small staple sized indent left on the wood but this causes me no issues as my usage is not for fine work. Reading other reviews before buying this I opted and ordered Fixman staples & nails as another reviewer mentioned having jams until they switched to this make (thank you for that)Overall the nailer/stapler is a joy to use, lightweight and safe in the correct hands. Safety device works well and only allows the trigger to be activated when gun is firmly positioned on the working surface where you wish to nail.I would recommend this to anyone that would not be concerned about the small indentation left after nailing.

I bought this to use with my (Aldi) Powercraft compressor.I had to buy an adapter so that it would work with the smaller gauge Powercraft hose, but other than that it does the job very well!I have used it with both nails and staples. So far I have made my own heavy-duty trellis for the garden using the nails and repaired an Ikea drawer where the bottom was coming away using the staples. The very thin but strong staples proved invaluable in effecting a discreet repair job!As it others have said the nails and staples it takes are quite thin. If you are planning to put a sturdy fence together, I recommend you look for something heavier duty. However for general upholstery / craft /repair work it does exactly as it says on the tin.I have marked this tool 4-stars because of the poor instructions, especially around how to actually load the nails and staples for the uninitiated!Having said that, I love this tool! Hmmm what can I use it on next . . .

I've not had any experience with nail guns before so I thought I'd start cheap for projects at home. For the money I think it's excellent value for money, seems well built and quite reassuringly heavy. Not had any feed jams and it will easily keep up with rapid trigger activations. The instructions really aren't great which do not show how to oil the gun etc. All in all for project work, keen diy or semi pro work you can't go wrong. One little gripe is the safety trigger will dent the work piece when the gun is fired but I've only used it on soft pine so it might just be that. I've used 50mm pins which easily go through the wood which is pallet wood. A good little tool.

This is an excellent tool, extremely easy to use. It requires a compressor, I am using the Stanley compressor 06/08/20 and is ideal for DIY (not recommended in the manual for industrial use). Beware that the hose connection may not match the hose, I think its a 1/4 inch BSP airline hose, and if you have overlooked this Screwfix sell them at under 2 quid each. I ended up buying the 18 Gauge nail pack with 3 different sizes (6000 in all), I think they will last me forever, and I received them in 25 hrs of ordering them from Amazon., at just over 19.00 pounds it seemed the best option and they work great in this gun

When looking for additions to my tool box I usually look for the higher end product as I want something to last. However this also has to reflect potential usage. As this item was only for light minor projects i went for the cheaper product. But this little nailer stapler delivers I've used larger mailers but for the price and cost this will do for me.I've already decided new projects as i like using it so much it is light but strong and easy to use. I don't think I'd change my main brand items for this make but for the smaller jobs will definitely buy again. Very good for the price.

this nailer stapler is awesome for the low price, i could put better brands to shame, hardly any jams so far which is amazing from my first 3 packs nails. the nailer is nice weight and comfortable to use. for the price i am delighted with my buy,the build quality is amazing when you factor in price then look at the price of named brands which work nearly exactly the same.using this quite some time now and it is working as good as the day igot it, keep it oiled with a water filter on the compressor and it will last many years

My previous stapler/nailer was constantly jamming, this however has a far superior design. The staples sit over the top of the 'magazine', astride, so to speak. I've stapled around 25 sq metres of mesh to decking with no jamming at all. Brilliant! The quality of the product is fine and for the cost, this is really good value for money. I have to say I would completely ignore the bad reviews that complained of poor documentation. Really? If you need a manual to use a pneumatic stapler, you shouldn't be using one.

Good price for a good stapler. This is the second of this style I have bought, the first was more expensive model from a high street store which broke down and was unfixable after a years moderate use. Having all the staples I decide to buy this cheaper make and find it is almost identical! Hopefully it will last longer and if so will rate it 5 stars. The only problem is when loading staples you have to break the staple ream in half to fit it in, no big issue and only takes a few seconds extra.

This is the first nailer stapler I have owned - it works well and drove 50mm nails into the wood I had selected. Youtube video showed me how to load the nails as the instructions weren't explicit. A simple photo with the nails in place in the cartridge would have helped as I had never handled a nailer before. Another photo showing staple loading would help too. There is no adjustment on the nailer which means that a staple sized divot is left in the wood. This will be OK for most applications.

I've no experience with nail guns, and was contemplating getting a cheap (£100 ish) battery jobbie when this popped up. Already have a compressor and other air tools, so thought I'd try this. Blimey, what a bargain! Nifty for pinning bits together while glueing up in workshop, and by dragging compressor (has wheels) into garden, was able to use outside, where I have run hundreds of galvanised pins into various garden frames to hold netting etc. Terrific value ....should have got one years ago.

As usual excellent service from Amazon. Product arrived promptly and was well packaged. I bought some 18g brads at the same time and put the nailer to use immediately. I gave four stars, but it could have easily been five stars had the instructions been clearer. It took me a few minutes to work out how to install the brads. Once loaded the nailer worked well and I am very pleased with the results. I fired 32mm brads into hardboard and 3/4" plywood with ease. Very happy with this product.

19.8.2019

Quite possibly the bargain of a lifetime, it hardly uses any air, I cladded a large shed and my 90l tank only kicked in once, sinks the nails just below the surface, does however mark the job if you press too hard but I’d say that was user error, very lightweight, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone, I’ll soon be buying the frame nailer to match. It’s easy to use and re load. It’s already payed for itself in one job, If your after a nail gun just get this one.
