OK let's start right at the beginning. This item came in, what appeared to be a typical blown clear plastic wrapper, but this was an assumption in error - It came in a blown plastic wrapper that can be opened by hand without recourse to a pair of industrial sized scissors like most. This put me in a good frame of mind from the start....Pros1. As said, the item comes in an easy opening clear plastic packet which also contains a small instruction notelet and some staples to start you off.2. The stapler is incredibly light and yet does not appear, in any way, flimsy3. One of the most simple to load staplers I have ever used4. Very powerful for it's size5.The user does not have to exert too much effort to actually get it to work so someone with out a strong grip could still use it.Cons1. Once the trigger handle is released to the angled position ready for use, you then use the gun and then want to put it safely away. I did what was said in the instructions, and pulled the trigger handle outwards, before pressing it down. As I did this, the mechanism still 'clicked' and I first thought I'd fired a staple. I hadn't but it concerned me that, after some usage where the mechanism wears, it would either fire a staple as the mechanism could not be disengaged or at some stage be unable to fire a staple as the mechanism failed to disengage. What I did afterwards was to release the staple store holder so that no staples were able to be fired and then closed the handle without pulling it out first. I then engaged to lock.2. You get very few staples so you'll soon need to buy some.3. No more, other than I am unsure about its longevity, but that's no better or worse than any other new item. Certainly, if dropped, it's lightness will, I believe, be in its favourBonusNow this may seem a little silly, but Tacwise have added a little something that I have wanted for years - In the lower bar area inside where your fingers go, there's a small plastic lift up cover, and under that is a small cardboard slip for adding a name, a 'Please return to room....' or anything else. This enables a form of personalisation that, in an environment such as a school, could prove to be invaluableOverall I was impressed. I don't think that it will ever be used in a professional furniture making operation or the like, but for schools, colleges, home use and the occasional semi-industrial work area, this is an excellent tool and, due to its weight, can be welded by the average person rather than needing someone who works out as an olympic bodybuilder

This is a solid, well built gun. Being plastic build, I was worried that it might be flimsy. It's light, but it doesn't feel flimsy at all. It's also held together with solid metal hex bolts so I'm really not worried about it being strong enough. The last staple gun I had was a metal one, in the classic style with a tension knob on the top. This one is much simpler, lighter, easier to load and feels like a stapler for those who just want to staple and not fine tune. Obviously if you're in the trade and spend a lot of time upholstering or similar, you might prefer or need a model with these tension settings and with metal head, but for the masses like myself, this is a simple gun that drives the staples in with a good force with no tinkering needed beforehand. If I had to make a critical point, it would be the same point others have already made - there aren't many staples in the pack, so if you plan to get straight onto a few big jobs, do yourself a favour and buy some spare staples. It takes "53/4-8mm" and the ones provided are not stated but I think they're possibly 53/6 (i.e. 6mm leg length). Note that the "53" is not a measurement of the width, but actually the "wire gauge" i.e. measure of the thickness of the wire used to make the staples.

I hadn't appreciated from the description that this is a staple tacker as opposed to the kind of stapler that you might use in an office. In other words, this staple tacker punches a staple into an item without folding the ends up. So this is suitable for fixing items such as a a poster to a tree as opposed to stapling a thick wad of papers together.I actually had the chance to staple a large number of posters to trees using this (to advertise a local fair) and it did this very admirably. The heavy-duty staples come out of the gun at great velocity so this isn't an item that you should allow kids to play around with - the staple could literally blind someone.Having used this several dozen times over the course of a couple of weeks,it has performed very well. My longer term concern is that the body of the gun is made of plastic and I don't know how it would last if you were to use it a lot (i.e. hundreds of times a month or week over many months). There is also a little switch to lock the handle down (so that you can't accidentally fire off a staple) and this switch is also made of plastic which might possibly break over the course of many months.

I'm always a little wary when I see tools with a plastic, rather than metal, casing. However, I need not have feared with this stapler. The plastic covering (semi-transparent green) is tough and durable rather than the brittle type prone to cracking at the first use.Although lightweight and appearing light-duty, it's surprisingly powerful. I've repaired a lounge chair with sagging seat and re-stapled weldmesh panels to my rabbits' runs and hutches. A little over-ambitiously, I've also stapled heavy-duty cattle wire into posts on our meadow as a short-term repair. The stapler is definitely not designed for this type of agricultural work which requires a more industrial and heavy-duty stapler (and longer staples)yet it handled it admirably. There is nothing at all to fault on this stapler for domestic, upholstery, light-duty DIY or hobby use and it's comfortable to hold without getting any of the uncomfortable 'shock' or pounding sensation which some staplers generate. It's easy to use, reliable, includes a starter pack of staples and offers excellent value for money.

First impressions were good. The stapler looked quite chunky, quite cool in the 'see through' colour scheme and appeared to be well puttogether. It was easy to prepare for use as loading was quite straightforward and the stapling action was firm without being a strain on the hand. The staples used were standard issue, so no worries there. In use it was pretty impressive. I used it on some scrap vinyl cloth, thin foam and some hardboard. This would normally be what I would staple (I dabble in old car restoration) and was a reasonable test - no 'bunching', no pulling, it held all materials tightly tacked together.I've had a couple of staplers before, one was plastic bodied and at the cheap end of the market and the other was metal bodied and to be honest the test stapler performed better than both which was a pleasant surprise. Time will tell re longevity but first impressions are good.Would I recommend this product? Yes I would. Will I be using it again? Yes, and often.

I bought this tacwise stapler after a more expensive Silverline one (purchased from a hardware shop) failed me in the middle of putting up insulation. After going through hundreds of staples I can now say that this stapler is better in every way:1) the design is far more ergonomic2) the belt hook is convenient3) the staple loading mechanism is simple and non fiddly4) the spring action is stronger5) the stapler has proved reliableOne of the big up sides is the staple loading system which you can see in my photos. The "tray" slides down, you pop the staples into the front of the unit, the tray slides back up.There is no trying to drop them down a small hole like most staplers. Some of this might not seem like a big deal but when you're wearing gloves and putting up staples for hours on end all of this begins to become very welcome. All in all highly recommend this device.

This was obtained in order that I could use it to put up posters and other display materials for promotion of educational courses. In addition it was for use in the classroom for learning materials. At home I intended to use it for tacking light materials to frameworks. In every situation it delivered a high level of performance without fail and this surprised me as it seems really light to handle and given that other manufacturers products have let me down repeatedly I was half expecting this one too as well. the device has a handy belt clip that lets you hang it on your belt when moving around the work area, and the set up includes a enough staples to get a few jobs done.I cannot reccomend this enough as it really does deliver on performance, although I appreciate that it is hard to find such things as staple guns in anyway more than functional this one exceeds expectations.

The staple tacker Z1-53T looks nice and professional out of the packet . It comes in a see -through green and is light weight at 0.25kg. It is quite versatile and can be used for DIY , upholstery, fabrics, blinds, gardening, trellis/ panelling, crafts, posters and display. I liked this because it is a tacker so has been very useful in stapling documents to a presentation board, tacking blinds and upholstery. This has been particularly useful for tacking the underside of our settees after opening them to fish out items that disappeared into them including a smart phone thought to be lost. It has made the DIY around the house fun to complete.Interestingly it uses staples 53/4-8mm but can also take other lengths.I love this and would recommend it to all who enjoy housework, DIY, gardening, crafts or any one in need of a good staple tacker. It is versatile and easy to use.

Very sturdy and workman like item. The power of the piece is very good and deposits staples in a neat and orderly manner and through all kinds of non-shattering materials. The hand grip is designed for all hand sizes and the operational lever is very easy to reach and to use.The lever is actually quite easy to apply gentle pressure to allow the staples to penetrate, tougher materials require basically the same pressure per pound as softer materials. There is a really useful hook which is ideal for placing on a belt for easy reach when engaged in tricky situation and placement jobs. The staple track carries about a hundred staples before refilling and it's reloading mechanism is very easy to use, just flip the lid and fill. It's a very good tool and very very useful without being too overly complicated. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

This great little stapler came in very handy when securing my garden to keep my Springer from visiting the neighbours! I can safely say they appreciate its imput. It coped admirably with tacking some netting to various posts and branches to close up the gaps in the hedge. Bailey only gives it ONE star for spoiling his fun jumping all over Mike and Elaine next door and chasing their cat!It seems to be quite a durable device and, though it hardly matters in a tool that will be stored away in a drawer for months between occasions for use, is a cool shade of transparent green. Comes with a modest supply of staples, which are easy and cheap to buy anyway.Unless you have a need for an industrial and professional version this will easily secure all those 'little jobs' that come up at home!

This is another winner from Tacwise. Whilst this version is much more compact and lighter, it still packs enough punch. Whilst this stapler is more utilised for the less sturdy jobs such as hobbycraft, posters and displays, it still does a fine job.I was really surprised that the snap action functions just as good as the metal version staplers. Also the snap handle is easily manoeuvred to make the stapler more compact that will fit into your toolbox much easier. This version also comes with a number staples, easily loaded with the springloader. Certainly to be recommended. If you're looking for a staple gun but don't want to spend big in the weighty metal versions, then look no further the Tacwise Z1.5/5 of due to excellent price and the powerful snap handle function.

The Tacwise staple gun measures just 6" x 3½" (15 x 9 cm) and, being made of plastic (quite an attractive translucent blue finish), suggested to me it would only be powerful enough for some basic cork-boarding or soft-wood stapling. Hence my surprise when I tested it on a piece of hardwood picture-frame and, after a satisfying "clunk" when you squeeze the trigger, it drove the staple in effortlessly. Although overall construction is plastic, the main pivot and stress-points have metal inserts, so it should last a good while. Comfortable ergonomic shape too - the aperture fits my hand perfectly. The slide-in cartridge is nice and simple to load and it takes standard type 53 staples of between 4 and 8 mm.For the home hobbyist or casual DIYer, this is an ideal device.

This staple gun is very lightweight and easy to operate. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.I have used mine to reupholster some dining room chairs and found it very easy to use.Top tip: remove all the staples afterwards and store it empty (I have found myself looking at the underneath with the staples pointing at me. I wouldn't like anyone to take an eye out by mistake.)This staple gun is only supplied with a very small number of staples so you will need to order more to do a job of any size.Footnote: I ordered a selection pack of different sized staples, also tacwise branded, for the 53 series staple guns. I was unable to get mine to load the large 53/10mm staples. It would load the 6 and 8mm staples without any problem.

I am surprised at the power of this considering its compact size; it is smaller than the staple guns I am used to and much lighter in weight, and it fits very comfortably in the hand. But it packs a powerful punch! Using on soft wood the staple is driven almost flush with the surface. When not in use the handle locks in the down position, making it even more compact - it could almost fit in your albeit large pocket.Points too for the packaging, while it comes in a fairly stout plastic outer it is easy to extract without resorting to cutting implements. Instructions are brief and concise, and written rather than what appears to be an increasing trend in un-captioned pictures. However it is supplied with a rather meager supply of staples.

This is the second Staple Tacker I own. I preferred the green see-through design of this one.The tacks are straight-out action not for use on paper. They work on Carpets, or PIcture Frames where the canvas needs to be tacked down. The advantage of this tack gun over the hammer tacker is it can be lined up to perfection. Whereas the Hammer tacker requires a skilled hand to do a neat job. This tacker can be used in a flat upstairs as it's not hammering at all whereas the hammer tacker is like hammering nails into floors, which is a nightmare for those downstairs.Works really well. Very dangerous though so don't leave around for non-adults(including teenagers). It will fire the tack through the air like a bullet.
