If you take time to set this plane up, sharpen the iron (although it was pretty sharp out of the box), and use it with care, it will reward you with beautiful smooth wood. Don't expect to be able to use this or any plane without doing the right work in getting it set up. Most bad reviews I see are from people who don't bother, but expect the world. This plane is very nice indeed.

I got my first plane when I was 16 when I started serving my time as a joiner which was a Stanley 4 1/2 smoothing plane and that was 27 years ago, I got it stolen from site so I got this plane as a replacement which is fantastic even though it has a resin hand, would recommend it to anyone great plane and super value.

tried to get this item in so many places never thinking of amazson but pleased i did as i was just about to give up hope having used simalar ones in my 40 years as a joiner
