Finally took the plunge and made the purchase of a second Sleepypod in black, I had really wanted the pink but it looks like Amazon are not going to restock as they had sold out buy the time I made my original purchase where I settled for the Robin Egg Blue. The Pink was only available for the hefty price of £212 from another Market Place Seller (Amazon had been selling all colours for £149) The additional £63 was too much to justify me wanting pink! I have not used it yet buy my cat was very interested in it when we tried it for size, until she got a whiff of the plastic smell which was a little off putting for my cat - needs "airing" out. That said I checked the carrier this morning 12 hours after arrival and the smell is almost gone - so not really an issue. I am really impressed with the stitching and the inside bed looks and feels really comfortable. I hope it will serve us for many years to come.Just an update: I had started to think I was crazy spending this much on a cat carrier and was considering sending it back HOWEVER after today I'm sold on it! Our cat would get in it with the lid off but would not sit or stay in it and would jump straight out, on went the lid and it was like "get out of my way I wanna get in that!" Down she sat grooming herself purring like crazy and now gone to sleep. The top of the carrier is open so she can / could get out at anytime if she wanted too. Any of her previous carriers even if left out she would never stay let alone sleep in them. So I believe there is something to the fact it's round, the cushioning and luxury fabric inside. My only small niggle is like previous comments the top is quite stiff so if there was a fastening to hold it open would be an improvement but it may soften with use. All in it's a keeper well worth it and I hope Amazon restock this at the price I paid in other colours in addition to the black as I do really want the pink one!

I didn't buy this on Amazon so I cannot comment on the delivery etc, as when I bought this it was quite unheard of (Almost limited to the US). I decided to buy this for my new kitten as we were moving abroad which meant a long car journey and no bed on the boat. At first I was put off by the high price tag, but now that I have used it I can honestly say it is worth the money. We travel around 6 times a year now for 5 hours a time by car, and my cat is perfectly happy the whole time. She only meows when she is closed in something and cannot see what's happening. With the sleepypod, I fold down the mesh and she has space to stick her head out.There is a mini and a medium,I debated this with my partner for ages as the mini costs less and she was a tiny kitten, but if you are also thinking about which size is best, unless you have a VERY small animal who will not grow anymore I would choose the medium.What I like about this most is the convenience; they have taken time to think about the comfort of the animal.Some of the things I love about this carrier:-The top comes off to create a little bed-The lid has mesh which you can fold inside so that your pet can stick their heads out during a journey.-There are loads of air holes-You can use the soft warm fabric in the winter and take it off in the summer. Also comes in handy when you need to wash it.-You can dangle toys from the top-It's a circle which means my cat loves to sleep in it as she naturally sleeps in a ball-Also it's good to look at, and very sturdy. Everything has been made with good quality materials.-You can fit the seatbelt around it and secure over the top in the handle.So far there are no negatives what so ever, I would say the price is a negative but if you travel with your cat a lot, it pays off to spend a bit more.

I got the blossom pink in the end as it was the cheapest when I was desperately wanting one(new driver and wanting my little long coat chihuahua to be safe when I drive).I got it for £171+, but after the price went down to £140+, and now it’s back to £224...So keep an eye if you don’t need it urgently. I was annoyed to find my beats headphones dropping £50 the week after too..Price aside I love the construction, sturdy and fairly lightweight, my 4+kg chi loved being in it in the car.It did come with the safety lock pprs at the top. Was fairly easy to strap into the car and make sure he’s secure.It pretty much fits him and may squeeze another small chi in for times of need but I think the maxit would fit would be like a 7kg dog(my shih tzu size).

Sturdy, excellent quality, cats love it and voluntarily get into it. Easy to strap into the car giving peace of mind that my cats are super safe.I bought one initially as I was only getting one kitten, however I ended up with two kittens. Having one carrier is great when they're small, but they're growing rapidly and they're Bengals so will soon outgrow this carrier (for 2) and they're not even6 months old. As much as I'd love to get another, I'm reluctant due to the price...which is the only reason I've deducted a star and given a rating of 4/5 stars.

I bought this 9 years ago and it still looks exactly the same as the day I bought it!!! It’s so easy to get my cat in and out of it and she’s not scared at all when she needs to be taken to the vets in it. Used to use it as a car seat for her too and it’s very secure, again she curled up and just slept the whole way.I still get comments every time I use it, people, vets etc asking what it is and where I bought it! 100% worth the investment - about to buy some extras for it now as she’s started to sleep in it!!

Excellent quality and sturdy yet comfortable interior, my small dog loves this - I use it day to day as a regular pet bed and then attach the ‘lid’ for travel - I love that this can also be used as a bed so it’s familiar to my dog. She doesn’t mind the top being put on and I love that you can open the mesh too. I found this easy to set up in the car and it’s very secure - it is expensive but will last for years and most importantly this is crash tested so you have reassurance that it is safe.

I am very pleased with this product. I love love love it. Also has accessories that you could buy separately heating pad. Great quality perfect room for my kitten and enough space for her to grow into. The price is kind of expensive but is so worth it.

This is great, the most convenient case for cats. It is large and a little more annoying to store than a normal carrier but makes going to the vet a million times easier. Well made and sturdy.

This is brilliant my dog absolutely loves it now and is never out of it we have to hide it from him! Everybody comments on it its so easy to use and to carry him I would recommend 100%

Really well made. It's the only crash tested pet carrier, that I could find for the car. Wish I could buy a small one too, but no one sells it, other than American companies.

Best money I have ever spent on my pets. They are easy to use and provide good safety on any length of car journey.Better than a hard carry case any day.

Sonny my cat loves his Sleepypod and although he hates having to go in the car to the vet he is calmer in his Sleepypod and so much safer strapped in.

This is worth the price. My pet loves the cosy bed and is relaxed when travelling compared to their former carrier. Easy to secure in a car.
