I've been a fan of Sebo vacuums for many years, having been recommended them by a friend who lived on a farm. 21 years later, there's is still going. They're probably one of the most reliable vacuums you can buy.The new X7 is a little more beefed up than the older ones. The newly designed lower powered motor actually generates more suction power over the old 1300w models. The automatic height adjustment makes it easy to move from different floortypes - it adjusts to be the right height for all floors which means the vacuum is almost effortless to use. It isn't the lightest vacuum in the world to lift, but if you carry it upstairs using the handle on the back, the weight is perfectly balanced so it's not difficult to lift.Abd it glides across all floors when in use.The on-board hose and wand set up makes it very quick and easy to vacuum in corners and edges without having to dismantle half the vacuum just to get the hose end off. Pick up is exceptional - you can see the vacuum lifting the carpet pile as you pull it back. Pet fur and larger debris are all picked up with 1 pass. The boost feature lowers the brushroll slightly more and works great on patches of carpet that get worn down due to high traffic.Yes, it is a bagged machine but 1 bag will typically last around 3 months depending on use. They are very large and sealable so no dust or hair escapes when you change the bag. Just throw it in the bin - more hygienic than messy bagless vacuums that you have to battle the dust cloud with and wash the filters out constantly. This model comes with a full stair extension hose which is very handy and plugs into the built in hose so you don't have to lift the vacuum when cleaning the stairs. It also comes with a mini pet hair turbo brush which is fantastic at getting pet hairs off of stairs and furniture. The cable is very long - I can do each floor of the house from 1 plug socket. No rushing either for when the battery runs out!Overall, excellent pick up, very solidly built, easy to use and super hygienic! Can't recommend enough.

After having tried so many brands and thought that bagless was the way to go when they first appeared on the market, I finally had enough of spilling dust all over the place when emptying the collector, that I thought we would try this sturdy upright, corded, with a bag, machine. Oh my. I did not know that a vacuum cleaner could be so amazing. (Almost) everything is just perfect.Assembly takes a few minutes and is relatively straightforward. It is not a light machine, so I think it is best if you have only one level - it is perfect for our bungalow. I would not want to shlep it in the stairs. It makes a wonderful powerful though not too loud noise. It sounds of quality, like a big car with a big motor.Suction is amazing. The machine leaves neat impressions on the carpet and adapts its height between surfaces. It is also very good on our attic floor in the kitchen and conservatoryThe accessories are lodged at different places on the machine so always handy and easy to use. There is an additional hose to give more reachThe cable is long enough to be able to work easily without having to find plugs every time you change room. It is also easy to manually put it away around the shaftThey must have devised a very good compression system as the bag does not need to be changed very often - and there is a light telling you when to change it - it took me 3 months to fill one bag. I was afraid it would be more frequent, but this is absolutely fineIs everything perfect? No. I would say I am bit disappointed that it is made of plastic. At that price point I would have expected more parts to be in aluminium or metal, like the gear to operate the machineBut otherwise, this has to be the best upright machine on the market. Well done.

I've been threatening my other half for a long time that I'm going to buy a Sebo to replace our old Henry. Don't get me wrong the old venerable Henry has done alright but it's an old design and while it apparently 'does the job', I knew that a Sebo would do the same job many times better. My parents have always had Sebo cleaners and for a long time have had two X4's (due to awkwardly narrow and steep stairs). Both these cleaners are excellent and have never given any issue or cause for complaint (other than being slightly heavy to my aging mother and father).Lately I've been getting annoyed with our little Henry - the hose keeps detaching from his nose (despite multiple attempts to superglue back),and it's just awkward having to try and clean a medium size house with the Henry attachment where an upright would be quicker. Also the henry doesn't really get in the carpet like an upright does with a roller brush. As an experiment I did a 'proper' clean with the henry prior to going around the same bits again with the new Sebo and checked brand new unused bag after and it was about a 1/5 full of all the old dirt and detritus that has been sittng in the carpet for all this time. (we have no pets)Even the hose attachment which I used on the stairs is picking up more dirt/hair/sock fluff etc.Even visibly the carpets look cleaner.Granted, similar results may be found with other upright cleaners compared to the Henry. But Sebo is the brand that I trust and also as I come from a family with asthma and allergies I know first hand that the filtration on these Sebo hoovers is first class.I am confident that as with the other Sebo cleaner I've used in the past, this one is going to give me many years of trouble free vacuuming.

As a was a professional cleaner for many years there haven't been many brands of vacuums that I haven't used. From Henrys, Dysons,Hoover's to name a few. For 13 years I was a housekeeper in a boys house to 54 boys, you can imagine the mess. The housparents picked up a second hand sebo that was 5 years old.....what heaven. I used that Hoover everyday for 13 years. Easy to take apart and reconstruct, never lost suction as long as you used sebo bags, parts when needed (hardly ever) easy to fit but the most important feature where many others fail is it's capacity to go flat and under things, unlike those ridiculous ball hoovers! I spent more time taking a Dyson apart to unblock it than I did actually using it and even now have a 'spareBit left over! The sebo had been dropped down a flight of stairs (I don't endorse this) pretty much abused by 54 boys sucking up lost socks and still it's in service as good as the day it came to us. Pretty they are not......work horses they definitely are. This is the ONLY vacuum I would ever recommend especially if you have pets that shed or you clean up after 54 boys and spend at least 2 hours of your day vacuuming. It took me 35 minutes to Hoover a 3 bed semi effortlessly, where with a Dyson it took an hour a lot of swearing, and faffy tool changes. Tool changes on the sebo are easy peasy and at hand. This vacuum makes you want to hoover, I really can't recommend it enough wish I could give it a zillion star rating. The seller was fast and efficient. One very very very happy customer!

Having had a Dyson Animal for about 20 years we decided it was getting a little 'tired' and that the cost of services was getting towards the price of a new one.We shopped around the various outlets and were not overly happy with what was on offer so we took ourselves off to our normal repairer and asked them what they would recommend.. eventually they recommended the Sebo range.Having looked at the ones available we chose the Sebo Automatic X7 as we felt that the model met our needs. As the dealer couldn't match Amazon's price we bought one from Amazon. It was delivered very quickly [but later than advised and with damaged packaging -- thank you delivery company!] it came in the form of a 'construction kit'but was easy to assemble [just a small screwdriver did the job].On trying it out first time we found the machine hard to push [suction is strong] and the tools are rather flimsy compared with the Dyson. The machine uses a bag to collect the dust which so far [2 months] hasn't needed emptying [despite having a hairy dog knocking about!] which is good.Compared to the Dyson it is much more noisy but you can live with that [providing you don't vacuum late at night].The tools are fixed to the body by [flimsy] clips too much pressure and pretty sure they will break. To vacuum the stairs needs an extension hose [provided].The machine seems heavier than the Dyson nut not a major problem. All in all a reasonable vacuum cleaner possibly better than the equivalent 'mainstream' models found at Currys etc..

I’d only heard about Sebo through a friend. Who’d heard about them from a vacuum cleaner repair specialist. He asked them what brand he’d recommend, and he said if you want your vacuum to look good, get a Dyson. If you want your vacuum to actually vacuum, get a Sebo. When my friend told me about this, I decided to get a Sebo. Got it in July, it is now October. And I’m extremely happy with it so far. As is my wife. She can’t believe how good it is. The first thing I done (once I assembled it) was to vacuum with our Dyson, then go at it afterwards with the Sebo. We have three cats, and one of them is black, so his fur shows on the carpet. The Dyson couldn’t pick it up. But the Sebo did.And it still does. It also leaves the pile in the carpet looking fresh. We can see where the cats walk after the carpet has been vacuumed. And to make things even more incredible, it’s still on its first bag! It isn’t too far off needing replaced. But the vacuum does an excellent job at compressing everything it picks up. So although the official Sebo bags seem expensive, they’re great value for money I’d say. And to top it all off, the Sebo also has a light on the front of it. All in all, I’d say the Sebo X7 is worth the asking price. Compared to the Dysons in the same price bracket, there’s no comparison. It’s a shame they aren’t more well known. They know how to make a great vacuum cleaner. And looks wise, I think it looks alright. It’s a vacuum cleaner. That’s the main thing, right?

After years of buying just good enough to get us through stuff we have hit a point where we can maybe spend a little more on white goods and home products. We learnt this the hard way by replacing tumble dryers and vacuums etc every couple of years (usually just after the warrantee had run out). Any way our Hoover broke recently (2 years old!) and the search was on for something decent this time. I usually start by going on John Lewis website and doing a high to low price search. Whilst not as expensive as a top end Dyson the Sebo is definitely not cheap. Then I read the reviews, on the JL website and then Amazon. The reviews looked good. I liked the fact it's bagged,as fed up of emptying and cleaning out dust filters after 20 minutes use as the suction suffers. Anyway stumped for the Sebo with extra length of hose. Nervous about spending £200+ on a vacuum but needn't have been. The Sebo works great. Very powerful, visibly can see the pile stand up on carpet. The auto height adjust takes a bit of getting used to. Transition from carpet to wood floor you need to allow a few seconds for the height to change, but that's no biggy. Extra hose is a must for cleaning stairs, the standard hose is very short. Not changed bags yet in over a month without any loss of suction. Oh and the air freshener capsules smell nice. Bought from Amazon as the price was good and JL were out of stock. Very pleased so far. It feels strong and well made.

Most effective upright vac i have used, good build quality and good design, very happy so far! The only thing that could spoil it would be mechanical failure which is unlikely judging by other reviews. I actually wanted a miele but they don't seem to make uprights any more so after a lot of research i decided on the SEBO and im glad i did. my previous vac was a hoover pet 1900w and its a good vac but its bag less and i got fed up with standing in a plume of dust every time i emptied it so i wanted a bagged one. The SEBO seems to have more suction but is less than half the power consumption so i'm well impressed !I'm in the double glazing trade and often borrow the customers vacuum cleaner soi have used pretty much every vac on the market over the last 34 years but for whatever reason i hadn't come across a SEBO ( maybe because its pricey?) , its as good if not better than any miele i have used and prior to that miele WAS the best i have used !In my experience there just isn't a rechargeable vac that can compare to a mains powered one but the downside is the weight! so i suppose the choice is, a lightweight with lightweight performance or a heavyweight with heavyweight performance! i have made my choice and stand by it, this machine does the job well!

I purchased this to replace a 13 year old Oreck upright. I was initially concerned over the weight of this machine after the previous lightweight Oreck but it’s been no problem. It’s a delight to use, excellent suction the carpets and hard floors look cleaner than they have for years. It’s a busy rural/ coastal household with three large dogs, plenty of mud and sand to contend with. The Sebo has admirable dealt with everything really well. The onboard tools and wand are great, so easy to reach cobwebs and skirting boards alike. It lifts dog hair from furniture really well and stairs are very easy, the only thing you need to watch is it tipping over when using the hose/ wand.Good length electric cable and extension hose if required. Seems well made, simple to assemble out of the box. The dust bags and filters are certainly good at keeping doggy odours locked away, absolutely no smell from the bag which has a large capacity. Highly recommend and excellent price from Amazon with very quick delivery.

We recently had all the floors either tiled or carpeted throughout our house, and we chose a very deep pile carpet and very thick underlay. This makes a superb surface to walk on, but unfortunately our Dyson simply sucked itself to the floor and would not move and cannot be adjusted. After extensive research we decide to go for the SEBO, and this was the best decision ever. It is not only solidly built, but covers ALL surfaces with ease, and after vacuuming the carpet, the pile is so plumped up, it is as if it is a new carpet again. The attachment for the stairs is excellent with the long hose, making it an absolute pleasure to use, and the removable handle system makes up high cleaning so easy.Sure it is not the lightest or the quietest vacuum on the market, but it is certainly the best that I have ever used. If you want the job doing right, you need look no further - highly recommended.

I've just spent well over £300 for a new Sebo and Im not sure Im entitely happy with it. My last upright Sebo was 12 years old with no faults until the motor started to smell and we deemed it unusable. That cleaner swept house rubble, cleaned up after 3 teenagers and 3 dogs. When I first used it the suction on the carpet was phenomenal. Perhaps I'm harshly comparing to a machine of 12 years ago, the plastic was thicker and the tools fitted better. Nothing is as good as it was.I am perplexed with the hoovering. Yes it's picking bits up but it feels too light. It doesn't feel like it's doing a deep clean, only picking up off the surface. Maybe it's misleading and doing a better job than it feels it is.Perhaps that's the new technology. Anyway it's early days and I've got to make the best of it, it's probably a really good hoover. I dont expect anything less from Sebo.

We were replacing our X4 which has served us for well over a decade, so after service like that it was obviously going to be another SEBO. It is pretty similar in form and function to the X4. I was worried that the smaller motor would give less suction, but no worries, there seems to be no drop in performance. When on boost on the heavily trafficked areas, performance seems to be better. The light is very good in dark corners, a nice new feature to have. The turbo brush gadget is also nice to have, especially on the stairs. Our two pugs shed hair all the time and the turbo brush attachment is a lot better than the usual tools for this. Incidentally the bags also seem good at containing all doggy fur smells and also they do not seem to get clogged.A good purchase if you want your machine to clean constantly rather than look good on charge on the wall.

Since having new fairly deep pile carpets fitted we have struggled to find a vacuum to clean them. First we tried a Dyson which was completely useless, it stalled the rotating brush and clamped down on the carpet making it impossible to move. After some googling we went for the Miele C3, much better than the Dyson but still very hard work. A bit more googling and we found a lot of recommendations for the Sebo on this type of carpet. It arrived today and was unpacked and put together in ten minutes. What a revelation, it is superb, easy to use and cleans beautifully. It seems to be very well built and designed with the user in mind rather that just looking funky like the Dysons.Although we have only just got it,I can’t recommend it more highly, particularly if you have deep carpets.

My last SEBO upright gave me almost 20 years service. It was brilliant. Never any trouble until it's motor began to labour. I'm pleased to say that this new one is just as good ! I'm really pleased with it. It's even the same colour! It is slightly lighter in weight but just as strong; the suction power is just as good. Some reviewers seem to worry that the wattage is lower on the new models, but I think this is made up for by newer technology - it performs just as well - better in fact due to new rollers! The longer cable is really useful if a little cumbersome to keep out of the way while using. The service kit etc is the same so I was able to use up my old bags having just bought a new box.I would never buy anything other than a SEBO. They are the best.

We are very pleased with this vacuum cleaner especially compared the recent Dyson machine that was truly awful. It only has to pass over an area once to clean it and its suction works right up to the edges of rooms. It has two minor faults, hence the four star award. It is incredibly heavy and not for an older person to carry up and down stairs. The wand can be troublesome. The hose is too heavily elasticated and the machine frequently falls over when the wand is being used. Also you have to slam the wand back into the machine to activate the hose rewind. This makes it difficult to pull it out next time that you want to use the wand.Overall, it is a very good machine with two minor faults
