If you are in Thailand Sang Som is very popular for a good reason, it's delicous!There are other spirits available and most of them are only drinkable with soda water or a good mixer. Unless you need to strip a layer or two of paint from your stomach.Sang Som got it's awards for good reason, it's a spiced rum not a dark rum. So there isn't the ussual buffer of added caramel/ sugar to soften the flavour but it is still very tasty. A cheap spiced rum will often have a pungent, almost chemical smell and or aftertaste, not so with sang som. If it's the aging process that takes away any harshness or the recipe i don't know,

We have been to Thailand a few times now and every time have purchased Sangsom mixed with Coka Cola, as a measure or a half blttle in the bar, absolutly beautiful so much so our luggage it fulled to our allowance. To find it here on Amazon is just magic.. a bit pricey concidering Thai prices but for a little nostalga its worth it.. all we need is the Thai sun and we are there. A very smooth easy to drink rum for the alcohol percentage! Imo its the best rum there is but everyone has there own tastebuds 5 stars all the way from me ??????

Another new rum for me. Searched on Amazon for a while and read the reviews and decided this was the one for me. Whilst I've never been Thailand and don't feel the pain of only paying £7 for a bottle of this in Thailand and then instead having to pay UK VAT & Duty, I can understand why people enjoy this so much. Not the most "rummy" of rums but highly enjoyable nonetheless. Comes very well presented in a presentation box and looks highly resplendent! Didn't have any ginger beer so had it with coke and it went down a treat.

Drank this in thailand. You really need to drink it with Coke and this ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-150_(energy_drink) ) A Thai style Red Bull... and put it all into a bucket..Also.. it's £3 in Thailand.. I don't know if I can justify paying £16 ... but it's VERY good. (If you want to get drunk.)

This rum must of got its high rating from nostalgia, Sangsom to hostel guests in Thailand is the equivalent of Buckfast to kids growing up in council estates in Scotland, I kind of wish I'd left it as a memory lol, still it's OK.... what do you expect for 16 quid, beats hand sanitizer.

This is known as thia whiskey but i'm not a whiskey drinker ,but this stuff is lovely, especially with coke. I drink it when i go to Thailand and always bring some back when I can. The price is not bad to say its imported but half the price in Thailand. I recommend trying some.

Love this drink.... when in Thailand its my go to drink after beer gets too gassy. Good flavour mixed with coke and a glass full of ice.Only flaw is the price.... i understand the import fees etc but its only £7 a bottle in Thailand!

An awesome flavoursome rum which is so underrated. Lovely balanced flavours, a little bit of after burn when drinking straight but mixes well with coke or ginger ale. Would definitely recommend to a more experienced rum drinker.

Got this product as a gift from Thailand. Being mainly a Scotch drinker, I was a bit trepidatious at first but was pleasantly surprised as it had a really nice flavour & after 80cl, I had no nasty experiences the next day.

I first tried this rum in Thailand and whenever i've been back i end up over indulging.However, it is now so handy to be able to buy this in England. I love this drink and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

I drank a fair amount of this while I was in Thailand. Considering it's only £6 for a bottle, it goes down very well. However, I wouldn't pay the money for it here. There are better rums on the market for the money.

Love this stuff,really good flavour,only thing about it (and I can hold my alcohol) but it made me sleepwalk,the Thais weren't impressed when I woke up in the hotel garden in just my boxers haha bloody great stuff

I am a dedicated rum drinker and this is the smoothest rum I have tasted, absolutely mind blowing, I never thought that anything would beat my favourites Captain Morgan and Kracken, this is a tough contender!

I drank this in Thailand and it's strong stuff. It's more like a whisky than rum, but great with either coke, lime and loads of ice, or soda and ice. Be warned though, it can make some people go a bit mad!

Got this for my brother in law who loves rum as a birthday present. Arrived on time and presented in a nice box. He said it was a really good rum and would happily buy himself some more!
