I tend to prefer "big" whiskies - I drink both peated & unpeated, but they need to have a depth of flavour for me to enjoy them. I bought this on a whim when it was heavily discounted, and it's not half bad (though I'm saving it for special occasions). This is really a whisky to savour - it won't smack you round the face like an Islay. Also, it's got a certain bitterness in the finish, but I still really like the flavour, and I get the impression that the extra time maturing improves it massively over its younger 12 year old stable-mate.

Fantastically smooth indeed, I believe this is a key component in several very high end blends. Do not add water, do not add ice. Unfortunately at only 40%, it lacks a bit of depth so the experienced whisky drinker might be underwhelmed. For the only occasional scotch drinker, this might be perfect.

Best whisky I ever had so far so delicate and soft. Even father-in-law agreed and his had quite few in his time. Only criticism is: For a 21year old malt 40% doesn't cut it.Overall is yummy.

Arrived on time well packaged. Bought as a gift so can't vouch for how good it is ( I'm a none drinker ) . The recipient was well impressed with his gift and gives it 5 stars
