This should be sampled by any and all fans of American whiskey! Prior to this I'd tried quite a wide range of bourbons and this is easily good enough to hold its own up there with the best of them...It has everything you'd hope for in a good whiskey, great body, depth of flavour and a lovely spiciness on the finish. It is different to bourbon, less glossy I'd say with more emphasis on an earthiness rather than the liqueur type finish you get with some bourbons.It goes well in cocktails too, I personally tried it in a sour, and old fashioned and a manhattan and I enjoyed all 3, however more often than not I found myself wanting to drink it neat given its absolute splendour!If you're curious

There's a good reason Rittenhouse gets called up as the quintissential rye whisky. Both regular and 100 proof are fantastic. I've spent a few years going around the block looking for others, but having now come back I'm convinced. They used to be way cheaper but still for under this price you're looking at Bullleit or Wild Turkey Rye for much lighter style equivalents (though still good in their own right), but neither have that chewy quality that's a hallmark ofa really good quality bourbon. For straight, Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, Sazerac, or a what a good, rich, rye should really taste like, try Rittenhouse.

This was bought as a birthday present and has proved very popular with the recipient who appreciates the finer points of Bourbon whisky. I thought it was very good - subtle and complex flavours and a smooth rich finish - even though I personally prefer Scotch. Recommended.

A favourite and a very nice rye... You wouldn't know it was 100 proof, beautifully smooth, one for sharing, and a great one to try for your first time... This was the best price we've ever found for it, having purchased it more than once via Amazon...

I enjoyed that. I'm a regular Scotch and Bourbon drinker and that was punch you in the face flavour brown booze. I'd defo buy that as my "house" bourbon if it wasn't so expensive, so until it gets cheaper i'll stick with Makers Mark.

I am becoming a convert to rye whisky, having drunk bourbon for years.This is my third bottle of Rye, and whilst I slightly prefer Bulleit Rye to this, I still like it a lot.Recommend if you want to try something different.

A little more expensive than the more common bourbon found on a UK shelf but well worth it if like meyou like to drink it straight. A lovely bourbon for sipping with a great warming aftertaste . . . CHEERS

Never tried rye whisky before , this has got a kick to it, i drink moonshine and whisky straight , try this if you fancy something different to a single malt or blended whisky. This has got an edge to it

i dont drink whiskey i collect bottles off whiskeys from around the world . i dont open them they stay closed with my collection.

Bottled at 50% this is a great value Rye. Spicy and drier than a bourbon, yet quite complex. Will definitely buy again.

Great rye whisky for all occasions and very good in cocktails. Doesn't warrant the hefty Amazon price tag though.

Best rye for the best Old Fashioned, without a doubt, and with some crushed ice, a very decent sipping rye

amazingly smooth for the strength I have a few other Rye whiskeys to try as I am normally a bourbon man
