For the price, I don't know what I was expecting. It certainly is a bargain on Amazon though.It's a high ABV Rye, that's pretty much it. Flavour is all out of the window with this one. Caramel tones which feel artificial, very little spice which makes a good Rye in my opinion - this one is all heat from the booze.I usually drink rye Whiskey straight, with an ice cube or two. The ice really doesn't help bring out any flavours with this one.This Whiskey is better in an Old Fashioned, it certainly cuts through the cocktail, maybe a little too much.Subtleness is not this Whiskeys strong point. I'm preferential to a 100% proof Whiskey so I'm no stranger to the strong stuff,

There's nothing to not like about this rye whiskey. Rich but not too heavy, deep and full of flavour, could easily pass for something far pricier (I paid around £30, for £40 plus there are lots of other equally good possibilities). But at sub £35 it's an obscure little gem. Fantastic neat and a killer in cocktails. Also happy to report any cork issues seem to be fixed - no problem at all with the cork on my bottle.

I have a lot of time for this rye. Apparently a lot of research went into reconstructing the original rye flavour that the real James E Pepper would have produced. Great bottle and label design is icing on the cake.That having been said, this is not for the faint of heart. It’s 100 proof and a young rye, so you’ll get a potent, raw, dusty rye flavour from this. Serious kick.Join or die mofos.

Bought this when it was on offer. It doesn't need to be mixed with anything. It's a whiskey with a kick and full of flavour! Definitely one to have in your collection! This has turned into one of my favourites. Would definitely purchase again!

It maybe slightly one dimensional but that one dimension is 100% satisfying, I love this stuff and its the first Rye I have tasted. Highly Recommended if you prefer drier rather than sweet whiskeys..

If you have not tried this you need to add it to your bourbon try list. Lovely peppermint flavour. A nice daily drinker one of my favourite daily rye drinks

The taste itself is fantastic, one of my favourites! Sadly however the corks are crap and tend to fall apart and deposit white bits all over the bottle neck
