Clearly, this is not a cheap Bourbon but then again, how many others come-in with this 64.5% ABV? The closest in my collection is Wild Turkey Rare Breed at 58.4%.Despite the level of alcohol, I still drink this neat and really well chilled. Very small sips only! I never use mixers with any spirit and I never add ice, preferring to use granite or metal whiskey stones. Ice melts and dilutes the drink. Sacrilege! The bottle is absolutely beautiful and well worth keeping. Mine also arrived in a very high quality black box with gilt printing. It look perfect for that special gift.Because taste is so subjective, whilst I love this Bourbon, you might not.

Honestly, this stuff is absolutely beautiful. There was a lot of hype surrounding how good this was when I was debating something with a higher abv, and it come down to this and wild turkey rare breed. I ended up with both in the end as found both offer at the time. The rare breed I thought was fantastic, but this JD barrel proof is a class above it! Lovely thick oily mouth feel with so much flavour which opens up even more with a little drop of water. I couldn't recommend this highly enough. It's a shame its almost £100 standard price, so when it's on offer again I will definately be purchasing some more.

I usually drink the 50% whisky variety of Single Barrel. It's got enough and when comparing to this one, it's just that little bit stronger but you just simply drink less of it. It costs almost £10 more for an extra 14.5% which for some reason doesnt seem to burn that much and the flaavour is just a little bit less. Still, I would dip into this one on the odd occasion and carry on with my staple 50% Single Barrel but the caramel/vaniall/spicy flavour is still there nonetheless. It's still a 5 star drink in that sense even in comparison to the 50%. I guess the 50% version is just a 5.5 out of 5.

Oh my days! Brought this for myself as a little consolation for hitting 50.This does not taste ike the normal No. 7Once you get past the searing heat of the first little sip, it really is a lovely, smooth whiskey. It's not something I would drink regularly; more as an occasional treat due to it being 64.5% abv.It couldn't be any more removed from the normal JD (which I drink on a more regular basis).Definitely worth buying as a gift or a little treat for yourself.I got it while it was on offer. Would i buy it again at full price? Yes, I probably would.

I've been trying a few of the barrel proof bourbons and this one really is great value for money. I'm not a big JD fan, but was very pleasantly surprised by this one, the flavour is getting up to the level of quality of the likes of Bookers, Noah's Mill, but priced a good £20 less than they are. Well worth it.To make it taste even better, open it up and let some air into the bottle a few times over about 2 weeks (same applies with all barrel proof whiskies TBH)

Strong and different. Good taste and aroma. Needs cold water to release taste and aromas. Strong taste of wood. At £55 was a bit expensive but I bought it in order to compare it to Glenfarclas 105 and other single barrel whiskies. A price hike of £40 (or 73%) means that now I know it is good for a price around £50 and I am no longer curious and interested in trying it!

Omg WOW just WOW!! I knew I was in for a surprise with the strength compared to the norm, but I wasn't expecting the taste to be so nice and refreshing and smooth, and YES it is gratifyingly strong! I only had about 8ml with ice and within 15mins of finishing the glass I was suddenly overcome with feeling in that happy place lol

I bought this bottle for £63 2 weeks ago and would happily buy again at that price, its a great whiskey but I see they have upped the price to nearly £100! I won't be buying this again at this price even though its a great whiskey. Makes no sense to almost double the price.

This product looks awesome. Bought for a JD collector. The display box is very sturdy, and the bottle is awesome, thick glass and looks great. Don't know about taste as not been drunk yet! But for a collector's this is by far the best one they have!

This is amazing but I can see they have doubled the price. It is currently listed for near £100. When I bought it it was about £50.For the money you could get a more interesting barrel proof American whiskey.

Got this from the Treasure Truck, so it was a lower price than usual, but this is really lovely stuff. You can taste the JD, but it has all the bad bits removed and all the good bits enhanced. Lovely.

At £54 a bottle this is fantastic value, not sure I would stump up full price. This has a really nice kick to it without being harsh. A long satisfying finish. Please put this on offer again Amazon.

Bought as a gift for my father, who loves JD. He was over the moon with this. Has a great taste too, was able to drink straight even though it has such a high alcohol content!

Lovely drop and I was about to buy another but the price has gone from £55 to £95 in one swoop?! Quite a bike so I'll not be re-buying.

Great JD product. Unlike anything else in their range. So much flavour and a really great bourbon. When on offer, this a must buy.
