I guess when you want to buy a plastic model kit on Amazon, "Airfix" is probably the term that you will search on, so Revelll may well get overlooked but, when it comes to quality and value, I think that the Germans win hands down here. Revell's biplane kits are all, like Airfix's, quite elderly, but they have stood the test of time well and have much more (and far finer) detailing. Their Sopwith Camel (a true icon of the Great War) is a case in point. This really is a corker of a kit - delicate, nicely detailed and fairly accurate. True, there are better 1/72 Camels out there, but you'll pay a lot more for them. One nice thing about this kit is that the struts that sit between the upper and lower wings come in one piece. It's hard to explain, but it makes fitting the upper wing at the correct angle (always a problem in bi- and tri- plane models) hugely more simple. This is a great little kit and well worth the money.

I received this as gift, having stalled (pardon the pun) in the construction of an Eduard 1/48 profipack Sopwith Camel. Fit is fairly good on the model with clear instructions throughout. The parts are quite small and fiddly (1/72 biplanes are tiny!!) but the wing struts are an absolute doddle to secure compared with other kits. Slight complaints are that I had to trim quite a bit of excess flash from some of the mouldings which might be tricky for younger modellers and the decals for the tailplane were too large to fit without trimming. Can't complain at the price though.

This little kit is absolutely brilliant! The mouldings have barley any flash, the details are crisp and clean as well as a great looking Biplane when the kit is finished. The struts that hold the second wing in place are very weak so care should be taken when it comes to this part of the build. The model is not big but this is to be expected with the scale. The model is a good, quick and easy build that is suitable for anyone who likes planes from the WW2 era that is looking for a fun project. Overall I recommend this to anyone either a beginner or experienced modeller!

ok so i gave it 5 stars......BUT, its a terrible kit and nothing fits, flash everywhere etc ....BUT if you put in the time and effort you'll get a tiny gem and a good workout of your modelling skills. This is not a beginner kit if you are looking for an easy build and great looking model without scratchbuilding.

Took me back making this model, haven't made one for 40+ years! Revell models always seemed to be better mouldings than Airfix and that hasn't changed. Top wing a fiddle to fit as are the decals.Smaller than I remember ..... perhaps I've grown?!

Another quality little model of a first world war plane (Sopwith camel)...Again fiddly, becasue the parts are so small, but a good past time, and very rewarding when it'sfixed together, and painted... Recommended.

Bought as a leaving gift for someone who was making a wooden kit from plans in case it didn't work out!

Takes a fair bit of work to get everything to fit properly, but worth the effort in the end.
