I have used other IcyBox enclosures and this one is of the same excellent quality as the others.I used this item to upgrade a Sony Vaio VPCEA2C5E. It enabled me to add a second hard drive (SSD) to the laptop and also provided me with an external blu-ray drive for my other machines without a DVD drive. All parts fit perfectly. The item comes with a flat DVD face plate which allowed me to keep the curved facia on the laptop - you'd never know there was a 2nd hard drive in place of the DVD drive.The additional DVD enclosure is a nice touch - the DVD drive fits perfectly and the finished product looks like an off the shelf item.Overall very pleased, especially for the price.

I bought this for my girlfriend so she could add an SSD for her boot drive and move the existing HDD to being a secondary drive replacing the DVD drive using this adapter, it also comes with an enclosure to place your current dvd drive in so it can also be used as an external device. I highly recommend this over over adapters, I personally used a cheaper one when converting my laptop before seeing this one, and when I later tried this one, I wish I had bought this one instead, not just for the external DVD enclosure, but also it is much better quality and I had no problems fitting this once as I did with a cheaper adapter. Overall highly recommended.

This is a well designed, well built and very well designed piece of kit. Simply follow the excellent instructions and you have another hdd/ssd in your computer and your dvd as an external usb 2.0 drive. The green led is very bright but that's the only qualm in an excellent product. This is THE one to get!

This inculdes two devices, so after intall HDD, I can also use my ODD. The only thing that I don't like is it is not suitable for my original front panel, but I found the solution. Overall, I recommend this product, and it can show S.M.A.R.T. information.

great item at asking price, exactly what I was looking for to. fits perfectly into Sony Vaio VPC-F22M and does what it's supposed to be doing. only downside is rather short USB cable, but it slots nicely into the caddy

Probably the best adapter out there, very easy to install with basic electronic knowledge. It comes with a great nice looking aluminium box where you can put the old Dvd drive in. looks great and works fantastically

Perfect combination. HDD bay + box to insert the removed ODD.Good quality. The box is black metal.I recommend to everyone searching a product like this.

Perfect solution if you want to put another Hard Drive or SSD into a notebook. You can use your ODD in the external enclosure over a USB port.

Works like a charm. Only "bad" thing is it should be usb 3.0 instead of 2.0. Easy to mount and the metal box for DVD is a nice touch.

At first I was a little skeptical as to whether this would work for me. By God it is well wort every penny. Well done Icy Box.

Useful tool to update your not "state-of-the-art" notebook, espessialy if you desided to shift to mordern OS.
