I've had this device for a little while now and I've been doing some tests while in RAID 1, with some random files in it, and there are some things that I want to point out.Ok here's the thing. I deliberately removed one of the HDs and *erased the volume* in order to "simulate" the installation of a "freshly out of the box" HD and then start the rebuilding process.After the rebuild had finished, *both* the HDs became "unallocated space". As a result, data loss...So in order for the rebuild and the data recovery to be successful, the removed HD had to first be formatted *before* putting it into the device.Regarding both the above mentioned, i found,

I find the TerraMaster D2-310 to be reliable high-speed storage device which can be widely used in homes or up to medium sized businesses for data storage backup.I bought this Enclosure because it support up to 16TB storage capacity even if I am only using 2TB... but is amazing for the price.With USB 3.1 Port this beauty really shine I was able to copy large files very fast witm my PC with USB3 at max speed of 130MB/s at moment I have setted it in SINGLE MODE but I hope to upgrade the Hard disks soon and change the setting to Raid 1 so I can safely store my files. The hard disk I have used are 5400rpm ones quite cheap so I couldn't test the top speed.In overall this terramaster USB enclosure

This is a great well made and compact enclosure.Be aware that this is not a NAS but a DAS - Direct Attached Storage.Sides are a very nice and solid metal with the front and ends being colour co-ordinated plastic.Instructions could be better - simply a page giving a web address which was not obtainable when I tried and I had to go direct to the Terramaster home page to find them. It is however easy to set up, much more so than a NAS.Comes complete with cables, hard drive screws, screw for changing the raid type switch and even a key for the recessed reset button.Fans are very quite.Overall this is a good value and flexible enclosure that works well.This was a review item I was happy to give my

This box is a decent tool for backup data. The Aluminum case is beautiful and nice, also very sturdy. It’s really a nice HDD case.I put two 4TB HDDs in this box and configured RAID 0 easily with TerraMaster's software. The transmission speed is not that fast as described, but faster than my ever storage devices.There are a fan for heat dissipation, but It's a little bit noisy when the fan is running but you will not care much about the noise for a long time though. overall it's good product,

One of the best direct attached storage solutions that i have used with hardware raid. Fast and affordable for what it is. Im really happy with it.My favorite feature is that when my computer goes to sleep of it shuts down so will the unit and the drives. In the past i have used other units that do not go to sleep with the computer and this one does which is just great for my needs.Pretty silent as well.

The drive is very good, out of the box it feels like a quality product, the installation of the disks and the initialisation through windows was very straightforward and it seems to be working very well (obviously time will tell as to it's long term reliability)

this is a very easy product to use just insert your drives select how you want them to work with the selector switch then turn it on.it shows up in "this pc" then just open itEXCELLENT!!!its also very quiet

Love this unit, extremely fast and perfect for photo editing and storage. Had a couple of small problems initially however customer service was superb answering my emails within minutes.

I previously had a QNAP and upgraded to this with a Gigabyte silent PC. Works perfectly and blazingly fast.

Quiet and keeps disks much cooler than in computer case. Also fast.
