All functions work as expected with my pioneer in-dash stereo, linked to my iphone 5s. It even controls the music on the iphone 5s, pause, start, stop, next track, previous track, volume, etc.

Use this with a 10 speaker system and a drop down monitor which is fed from the pioneer unit. The remote control saves me from going into the front of our campervan to change sources etc

Bought as a present for my son. Thinking about it though it wasn't really needed as he only had a slight reach for the radio anyway but hey ho.
