I bought this just because everyone was asking me if I'm from military when they were seeing me with my old backpack.I'm familiar with Osprey. I already own one (Atmos AG65 M) and I'm very happy with it.The second I decided to buy something new, I didn't looked somewhere else. I knew I want another Osprey. I already have a Kathmandu Voltai 40 but in my opinion, if you afford one, you should always go with Osprey.Anyways, long story short, when it arrived, the first thing I've seen is the many straps it has. All over the place. Straps, straps, many, many straps. I got scared. I once had a random backpack with many straps and it was a pain to use. This Talon 33 M/L?The straps are in the right place and the second you fill it up, they become so relevant and intuitive to use. I'm impressed. Amazed.Very comfortable on the back. As comfortable as my Black Diamond Dawn Patrol 32 that I use for skiing. I practically didn't felt having it on my back the entire day (see my pictures with is for a day trip on the mountain in November 2020).At a point, I thought I will bag in all my gear. I was adding, and adding and I still had some space left. I even packed a box of cookies which took quite a lot of space. The bad? No rain cover. I had to purchase that separately. Not from Osprey because they are so prohibitive in price. Some random brand. Otherwise? Very happy with my purchase.

I own the Talon 22 and the 33. I like both of them. I'm thinking about picking up the Talon 11 for use as a day pack for back and forth to work. My son uses the 22 at university to tote his books and essentials while he is on campus. He loves the 22 so I doubt that I'll get it back. I use the 33 as a bug out bag. It's big enough to hold my rain jacket, rain pants, heavy coat, fire starting kit, a couple of flashlights, survival knife, hatchet, small shovel, tent, first aid kit and enough food for a couple of nights. The top zipper pocket holds my Trayvax wallet, keys, and cellphone. The mesh stuffit pocket on the front of the pack can be used for whatever you want.I usually keep snacks or gloves maybe a light jacket in the front mesh pocket. The Talon 33 is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. There are no hotspots that I notice while I'm wearing the 33. My one minor complaint would be that the sternum strap could be placed a little further down instead of up so high. The Talon series is my favorite of the Osprey line. All of the Talon's are very versatile, and can be used for rock climbing, camping, school, day hiking, mountain biking etc.... I guess the Talon 11 will be my next purchase from Osprey. If you are looking for a pack that can do it all then check out the Talon series by Osprey.

These are very lightweight and comfortable rucsacs with a lot of really practical features. First impressions were that there seem to be an awful lot of straps and too many odd pockets. After a couple of weeks using it on a daily basis for hillwalking I really appreciate the thought that has gone in to the design. The pockets on the waist strap or on the side of the bag are really handy for small items, and the external pocket on the back can easily take a large water bottle saving the need to open the main part of the rucsac. Possibly the most impressive thing is how light and comfortable the bag is to carry even in very hot weather. It is too early to say how long the bags will last, but the manufacturing quality and materials appear to be high. For anyone looking for a slightly larger day pack I'd recommend these.

I love how light this is. I’ve packed this to the 35lb limit and i don’t even feel the weight. All the weight is distributed properly on my hips. It has so many features. The sides pockets for easy to grab items. I love how I can access my water bottle pockets without any issues. I can take out and put back water bottles without removing my backpack. I’ve used this for a quick day hike and just fold it down to create a smaller backpack. I’ve used it for a one night overnight backpack. I was able to fit everything in there. Tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, stove, hydration pack, food, headlamps, utensils. Everything in there! Great room . Favorite backpack .

Love this pack. Primary uses are day hikes, pack rafting, and two night backpacking trips. Plenty of room for day hike toys - hammock, swim gear, lunch, and first aid kit. Perfect for my pack raft hikes - raft, paddle, pump, towel, change of cloths. Hang life vest off back. For two nighters get tent, sleeping bag and pad, cooking gear, rain gear with plenty of room left. Love the top load, I’m a bit OCD so with zip-locs or stuff sacks is easy to shuffle stuff in and out. Lid storage is perfect for snacks or quick to get at stuff. Belt storage is great for multi tool, fire kit, keys. Great buy for me.

Needed a new rucksack for a Kili expedition, and I was very picky. After a lot of research and visits, I settled on the Osprey Talon and was not disappointed. Very comfortable, easily adjusted, and lightweight, all essential to serious hikes. My only complaint is that the cords and straps are a bit “stringy” if that makes sense in that they snag on things instead of being tight and flush to the rucksack like other brands. But all in all, there is no better brand than Osprey when you need to pack your life with you for an adventure. Made a successful summit, now on to the next adventure!

When I’m okay up in the Lake District we find ourselves in a Outdoor pursuits shop and we will try and backpacks. They were instantly comfortable and when we got home we ordered one for me and my daughter and they are very light and extremely comfortablePlenty of space and some great functions like easy clipping you’re walking poles onto the backpack. We have also purchased directly from the manufacturer a liner which is totally waterproof and negate any problem when it’s heavy raining. Definitely the best backpack I’ve ever had

Osprey are by far better backpacks than any others I've tried. I bought this for my partner, and he loves it. Really comfy even with the pack filled, and enough back ventilation. One of the best things about the osprey hiking packs is the walking pole attachment: you can access and put away the poles without taking the pack off, but they stay completely out of your way while hiking. This size fits well with the 2.5L osprey hydration bladder, and I'm sure it'd for the 3L as well. Will never buy another brand hiking or biking bag!

Not used this in anger yet but a few people I know who know these things recommended Osprey and for my purposes, this particular model. It appears to have sufficient pockets and attachment points to allow you to carry a variety of things including your trekking poles, camelbak, mobile phone, maps... - the list goes on.It looks perfect of going on long walks and far better than using my current laptop type backpack which hurts the shoulders after a few miles.

This pack is outstanding. It boasts a comfortable and cool suspension system that is fully adjustable for the wearer. The material is light but durable. The stretch pockets can accommodate a host of items, water bottles, raingear, etc.. The hydration pocket fits my 3 liter bag perfectly. Aside from the lack of a rain cover, this is the perfect bag for a heavy day hike or an overnight hike. Love the product.

This is a replacement. Perfect size for overhead plane locker for adventure trips abroad. Great fastening for winter Express. The bladder doesn't take up any room inside when fitted. Good wieght distribution and can take a fair bit of punishment. I only changed mine because it looked like it had been to war and back. One disadvantage no rain coverOverall great back well worth the money

After tons of research I went with this for a light backpacking option, and Im glad I did, very high quality and comfortable, adjustable, and a good amount of options for storage. Took this for an overnight trip on the AT with everything I needed with room to spare. Depending on your gear I bet it would suffice for a longer trip. I know this pack will survive many more adventures, A+

The Talon 33 used to be perfect for working in the field. The new shoulder straps are much nicer and the new upgraded back plate makes improvements to the weakest parts of the older designs. The redesigned outer pocket is now too small to hold a clipboard. Didn't realize this when ordering online. Now looking for a new professional grade field bag.

I just used this bag on a 120 km walk to Santiago de Compostela. Worked perfectly, holds shower proof top, light fleece, 2 liters of water, lunch, camera, sunglasses and first aid kit. Felt really comfortable, although various hanging straps can rub against your arms if not tucked away. Perfect bag for a day walker not carrying full camping kit.

ProsThere is much to like about this pack, it is lightweight, slim, and very comfortable. As it is adjustable, it is worth taking the time to measure your back and get it set correctly.Con(ish)The pack is not waterproof and there is no rain cover. This is easily solved by buying a separate rain cover and stashing it in the top pocket.
