This is a great backpack. I cycle to the supermarket and fill it with heavy shopping 2 or 3 times a week and all the zips and stitching is still perfect after 5 years. Used it for 100s of gym trips, low hundreds! and usually popping into Lidls next door so I cycle there, the 6 miles home with damp gym gear and weighty meat and veg no problem (other than being exhausted from the exercise!). the 'flow technology' seems to work well so my back is no stickier than the rest of me after a hard ride.At only 25L I probably make more shopping trips than I might, but I love fresh veg (and bread) so I'm not complaining. My15.6 laptop fits in fine when needed and the inside padding makes it comfortable.I usually put a small towel or something shock absorbant on the bottom in case I drop the bag but if I put it in the pocket that lines the back inside, it's off the bottom.Only one small inside zip pocket isn't perfect but it's there so I put a spare bank card in it in case I forget or lose my wallet. which happens to me too often! I safely tie bags onto the outside straps sometimes which works even if it might make me look a bit daft. The side pockets are great for water or even wallet and phone for just local shopping trips. The 24/7 plus has a clip fastening largeish pocket on the back, which again can be useful for damp towels or litter after a picnic, whatever. This is probably the first product review I've written on here despite at least one order a week over 10 years plus, (usually wanting to keep good ideas to myself!), but reading other reviews and thinking I might benefit from another bigger one of the same I concluded I don't need another and it was £28 very well spent 5 years ago.Again referring to another review it usually stands up happily on its own unless your packing prevents that. Don't know if I'm allowed but it cleans up like new on a gentle wash!NB. These are pictures of a 5-year-old well used and loved backpack

I'm very pleased with my new backpack. This is the second Berghaus I've had - the first lasted 5 years but was stolen. After daily use, it didn't look very much different to when I bought it, really.I like this new one in black, so fashion as well as usefulness. This is a simple, robust, backpack and does not have masses of pockets - it's exactly as described in the blurb. For me it's ideal because I take it to work each day and on work trips around the UK. There's a section for my laptop, and another inside for zipping passports and boarding passes etc securely inside. The rest of the bag I use for purse, make-up bag, kindle, yoga leggings & hoodie, and it takes these with ease.I've got one of those slim gym towels in a bag and the Berghaus has a clip on the outside apparently designed specifically to hold that when the towel's wet on the way home. One of the best features is the in-bag key ring, great for easy access when you're arriving home after dark.On the outside, I can fit a water bottle and a flask of soup in the two side pockets. There's a front pouch suitable for a hydration bag which luckily I don't need on the London metro, but I find it invaluable for sticking my boarding passes and bag of declarable liquids etc into when going through security at the airport. This bag counts as hand luggage on all the airlines I've used and, if not too overloaded, as the 'extra' bag allowed by Aer Lingus. Also it counts as an 'inside' bag on National Express coaches and thus travels free. For me, one of the best things about my old Berghaus was the construction of the straps which minimise back ache on a decent length walk, pluse the anti-sweat fabric on the back. I'm glad to see these are replicated in the new bag.Berghaus is a proper local firm located in Tyne & Wear and I'm glad I could get BackPack II from them. However, I shall report back if there are any negatives in due course.

I really like this backpack. The more I use it the more I realise how good it is and I love it more.I was backpacking around Asia for 5 months and planned travel with hand luggage only.My main backpack was an Osprey Farpoint 40. To go with this I wanted a simple light day pack that would fold flat when empty and add no bulk and weight when strapped into the Farpoint compression straps. The obvious choice is one of Osprey's daylite bags so I bought 2 bags the Osprey Daylite Travel and this Berghaus Twentyfourseven 25 Litre. I planned to try each and return one of them. Of the two I chose the Berghaus Twentyfourseven 25 Litre for the following reasons:1 the mesh on the back pads on the Daylite is hard and coarse.I found with a t-shirt on it rasped the skin on my back. The Berghaus Twentyfoursevenback pads are soft. I love how they are in two strips. As I walk I can feel air puff around my neck as the air flows up over my back.2 the bottle holders are much better on this Berghaus Twentyfourseven – they are functional and they work much better than the Osprey Daylite Travel. I really like the extra pouch between the bottle holders on the Berghaus Twentyfourseven. It is ideal for random things when on the beach or waterproofs etc.3 the zipper on the Berghaus Twentyfourseven has big loops which can be used with a small luggage lock. You cannot do this with the Osprey Daylite Travel4 the Berghaus Twentyfourseven is lighter than the Daylite Travel – important when Thai Air sometimes enforce their 7kg limit on hand luggage.5 the Berghaus Twentyfourseven is about half the price of the Osprey Daylite Travel.

Lightweight but not to the detriment of durability. Handy pockets although I could have done with a few more zip up ones I was delighted to be able to carry 2 water bottles externally without issues. Comfortable for medium trecks. I found if the thing was very full the breathable back area didnt work so we took care not to fill to capacity. I found the straps ok until we did a really long hike then the chest strap chafed a bit. Probably better for a male shape. Over all I am delighted. I may buy the next size up if it has a waist strap as that would certainly add to the comfort on longer walks. We only had a little rain and it was fine. Cant mark it higher as we didnt experience a downpour or prolonged rain and I dont want to mislead anyone. This is ideal for day hikes. What we placed in it didnt get overly warm. The additional places to attach things are handy for solar panels however anything too heavy caused discomfort. It is good value while the offer is on. Not sure I'd have even loomed at it full price. It's no good for carrying lots of items due to the strap position across the chest.

I originally bought this bag to go running with however I will be using it a lot more than that now. While there of space for items in the bag the front compartment seems a little useless as there is no zip keeping thing in. There is only a simple bucket securing it. And there is no internal compartments actually inside the bag for separation of items. There are 2 bottle holders on the side of the bag and also a water hole for a camel pack at the top of the bag.The shoulders and back are very padded so it makes wearing the bag very comfortable even when carrying around gym weights and running. The ability to alter the size around the shoulders and clasp around your chest means you can get acomfortable fit without the extra clasp that larger more expensive bags have around your waist. The bag is lightweight yet very sturdy great bag for multiple different activities. I will probably be using this as my main rucksack now as it such a useful bag. Would highly recommend.

Bought this for day trips and to replace an ageing laptop bag for occasionally transporting a Macbook. It does that job perfectly although for regular carrying a laptop I'd suggest something more designed for that purpose. It's not particularly roomy inside but good for a day out.The bag is well made with good toggles, clips and straps. As other reviewers have mentioned the whole bag is accessible from the one zip - there is a separate internal partition for flat items such as laptops/tablets/papers and a very small (would just about fit a phone) zipped compartment within. I find this pretty convenient but if you're looking for separate pockets perhaps look elsewhere. It does also have outside netting pockets suitable for water bottles or a small umbrella. It's a very comfortable bag to carry and the straps are easy to adjust to your requirements and it seems like it will last. Highly recommended.

Its a lightweight, lightly built 'day bag' rather than a rucksack.Build quality seems good - no missing stiches or glaring design flaws. Zips and straps work fine.Padding's not up there with top rate rucksacks - but its fine and matched to the likley load.Indside the main bag: There is a small, zipped pouch big enough for most phones (but a mid-sized tablet might struggle) although that's not padded. There's also a plasic triangular 'ring' to attach eg keys to - but they'll need to be on a string or clip some thing because the ring's too broad for a split ring (to be fair if it wasn't broad it wouldn't be strong enough to do the job).I guess the key question is - If I knew what the bag was like before I ordered it would I have ordered it?And the answer's 'Yes'- Its not a wonderful 'all singing all dancing' bag but for the price its a good value workmanlike product.

Since 2013 I had been using the older version of this same backpack, but after very heavy daily use and long distance travelling for study, work and leisure purposes it had seen better days. The new one is a decent bag with an equally good amount of storage but it does not have a zipped external compartment - the old one did and it was handy to have quick access to a few items in there. There is a pouch on the outside of the bag which you could keep things in but a single clip holds it and it is not usable to me at all, not sure what the point of it is because things could easily fall out and/or get swiped.I also don't think it looks quite as good as the old one,but I suppose that is totally subjective.Overall it's a perfectly good backpack that I'm confident will serve me well for another five years.

Have been using this for a few months now as a replacement for a previous 25L Berghaus bag that lasted a decade. Gets used as a work bag and a daysack.Good robust construction. The curvy straps make it really very comfortable to carry on my narrow shoulders. The comfort was far superior to bags I tried on by other well known brands, inc. those specifically designed for women. The three open pockets on the outside are very convenient for stuffing things like water bottles in and getting at them easily. Inside there is one big pocket, a slot at the back (for a small laptop or similar) and one rather small zipped pocket that holds a phone but is a bit small for a wallet. In an ideal world I'd have liked a couple more internal pockets for small things like keys so they don't just get lost at the bottom.

Bought this for a recent trip and happy with the quality of the bag. It was easy to adjust and very comfortable to wear. The only thing this bag lacks is a second, zippered compartment. either internally or external. There is a tiny, zippered internal pouch which is fine for a wallet or passport as well as a thin divider for a laptop or books but otherwise, everything is mixed up in the main compartment. There is an external compartment fastened by a single clip but either side are left unrestrained so it isn't very secure, not to mention if you get caught in even a light shower that anything in here will get wet. I only used this external compartment to carry a weather cover.

I bought for this for University, and it's perfect for my needs. Very lightweight yet clearly great quality, has loads of padding on the straps and the back so it's comfortable to wear. Has a pocket inside at the top for easy reach of wallets, phones etc and key ring loop to hang your keys for quick access. My 19" laptop fits snugly inside and leaves tons of room for other stuff, so it fits the purpose I bought it for perfectly. All in all I'm very pleased with this, to get a high quality backpack with a prestigious brand like Berghaus on it for £20 is a real steal. You'd be hard pressed to find one brandless for the same price without lowering the quality standards greatly.

I had an older style version of this backpack (Probably bought it in early 2011) which was recently stolen. The old version was much nicer and had a separate zip pocket on the front. Inside the zip pocket was lower meaning that the top didn't automatically flap open if you have anything in the pocket due to the weight. The front "pocket" on this bag is practically useless. there is only a single clip at the top which is pointless seeing as the rest is wide open!I'm happy with this bag and will continue to use it as much as my old one but aesthetically it's no where near as nice!R.I.P to my 2011 Berghaus Twentyfourseven backpack.

I love this bag and wish I had bought it sooner! It is a decent size and has plenty of space for all our water bottles and snacks when going out as a family of 5. I am 5'11" and have struggled to find a bag to fit my back comfortably.....until now! I barely remember I am even carrying it as it is so comfortable, and it doesn't seem to matter how heavy it gets the weight distribution is so good hat it barely makes a difference.Perfectly waterproof so far, even the inside as a water bottle had spilt in the bag (I was unaware of this) and the water didn't even leak out!Would highly recommend if looking for a decent sized day bag.

Bought for light loads for day hiking trips and it serves well. The space is not huge but I knew that before buying - I now use this bag for travelling for university and seeing friends.I don't think it's completely waterproof but I have been in the rain with this bag a few times and never had an issue with anything getting wet inside, so I keep my laptop (in a sleeve) in here when commuting without worrying about it getting wet.It seems sturdy and strong enough for slightly heavy loads, having completely filled it with things like tinned foods and feeling comfortable with both wearing it with the bag handling the weight.

I love this backpack, I have bought different backpack previously which has done the job but not the best. The internal zip pocket is perfect for traveling and keeping items secure. the internal key hook is also a brilliant addition. The bag comes with comfortable, and breathable padding and adjustable straps which is great for any size.It has 2 external side pockets and a dual bottle holder.I recommend this product as a main day bag and it also functions perfectly as a hiking/travel bag too.Great product all the way.... fully recommend to anyone who is looking for a bag to work / outdoor activities.
