I spent a while weighing up whether or not the Kånken Mini would be worth it, and eventually decided that it would be. I was right. It's the perfect size for a day bag: you can fit a book, bottle of water (I've got a 500ml Chilly's bottle [also recommended] to go in there, but have also fit a 750ml plastic water bottle in there), medicine/make-up bag, notebook, snacks, phone charger...pretty much everything you'd need for a day out. The fact that it's a rucksack means it's kinder on one's back than a satchel or handbag; in fact, this and the Herschel I've got for work have made a significant difference in this regard.The straps take a bit of working out, and I think they might dig in if they were too tight,you had lots of heavy stuff in the bag, and/or you were wearing a vest or tank-top, but I don't think it's a big enough problem every day to make the Kånken not worth it - especially as you can't really fit lots of heavy stuff in the Mini! You can get padded straps from Fjällräven for some bags, so that's something to consider if you were concerned.The Mini has a few sections: a small one on the front, at the bottom, which is good for (surprisingly) small things, such as keys; the main compartment, which has a separate pocket at the back and features a light bit of polystyrene (?) - quite thin and almost long as the bag, this seems to help the bag keep shape, but is, apparently, for you to use as a makeshift cushion if you find yourself needing one when out and about; and two pockets on either side of the bag, which are, irritatingly, not big enough to hold water, but can contain something like a phone/iPod or card wallet (if you're sure you're not near pickpockets!).I haven't tested the bag in the rain yet, but the material seems relatively hardy and durable... Fjällräven/Amazon say it's made of 'Vinylon F, a highly durable, abrasion and water resistant fabric that softens with age and washes and becomes increasingly robust as the fibers in the fabric tighten from use', so maybe it is waterproof! I'd still carry valuables/electrical things in a waterproof case/bag, though.. There's no aeration system, so it's been pretty warm and a little sweaty in the hot weather as it sits against the bag; the best way to deal with this is to put a cold compress (acquired from somewhere like Boots and kept in the freezer) in the back pocket/section...it's delightful while it lasts, though it doesn't last for as long as you'd like it to, alas!The colour is obviously a matter of preference, but I think the Kånken runs a bit lighter in the flesh/material than in photos; I got the granite and find it a lighter grey than it looks on Amazon/the Fjällräven website. It's fine, but I wouldn't have picked it, if that makes sense.In short: get one of these! It's useful, practical and good for your back.

Ok. So. I'm not really the product review type, and I'm definitely not the fashionable or 'what's IN' style-wise type. I am however, the rather practical type. Hehe.I'm used to carrying rather oversized leather bags (which I do love) for work (and really just in general), but I do a lot of wandering, many dog park trips, day hikes, beach/surfing trips, road trips, etc. and wanted to find something small-ish and preferably waterproof...but that was also cute, of course. My sister has the Fjallraven Tote Pack and absolutely LOVES it, but it was still a little bigger than what I was looking for.Behold! The Mini Kanken! This pack absolutely rocks my socks. Now, when I opened the box I immediately thought "Ah,crap. It's way too small!" Nope. Wrong. It's actually the PERFECT size. Holds ALL of my usual 'lady business' (phone, mini composition book, pen, larger random stuff/cosmetic bag, wallet, keys, chapstick, inhaler, phone charger) and still has plenty of room for more. I can get dog treats, collapsible water bowls, a couple bottles of water and my sunglasses in there when I need to, and probably more.The price IS a bit hefty seeming, but I'm ok with that since the quality is so great, and I don't intend on buying another one until after this one dies. Which probably won't be for a LONG time.I got the darker brown color for versatility, and though that may sound boring it's actually a super nice shade! All of Fjallravens colors are just awesome.It's super lightweight and comfortable to wear. Sometimes I forget that I have it on.My ONLY sort of warning for people is that the straps are somewhat short even when they're fully extended. I'm 5'4" and small framed, so I could see it possibly being an issue if you have a larger structure.Other than that I'm super stoked on it, and hope that Fjallraven never stops making them.It's cute. It's practical. It's solid. Just DO IT.

Ok.... first like many I was hesitant to order this off amazon for fear it wouldn’t be authentic. I read many reviews and decided to pay the few dollars more and go with the seller Zappos. I also watched youtube videos of the authentic bags being opened and saw all the tags and marking so I knew what to look for when my bag arrived. I was so relieved my bag is 100% authentic!! For me the selling factor was the Swedish flag tag and the official stamp. I had this small pink tote savvy mini inside I got for my neverfull mm and it fits perfect with 5 size 4 diapers and full pack of water wipes and all the other items you see in the picture!My iPhone XR fits very snug in the outside side picked and I have an otter box case and a pop socket on my phone!! It is pretty heavy but I don’t intend to wear it like a backpack I plan to have it in the basket of the stroller while we are traveling or out as a family! I can’t wait to get the original size as well!!! Buy this mini it’s so cute and perfect for a smaller diaper bag or purse!!For all those people making reviews and not doing your research you might want to invest some time on the website of the authentic bags and zoom into the photos.... the circle over the A in “Kanken” it can be touching or not and still be authentic.... this isn’t a luxury designer brand like Chanel or Louis Vuitton.... don’t start counting stitches and acting like it has to be 1000% perfect or it’s fake if one stitch is off.... in the pictures I added from the authentic site check out the stitching around the logo..... not perfect at all!

This is a great bag. Normally don't leave reviews but - credit where credit's due. My daughter wanted it for school. She burns through bags like they're going out of fashion. I wasn't keen to spend nearly £50 on a bag that would be trashed in two months - did feel I was having my pants pulled down a bit. But - it's great. She has given it some serious hammer. It's dirty, dusty, dragged across the floor, chucked in the corner, trodden on, stamped on. There are no rips, no tears. It's solid. Would buy another but I don't think I'll need one because I can't see this one giving up soon.I am going to edit this review to say one year on - now July 2018 - she is still using the same bag! Still no holes,rips or tears. It's been crammed with school folders (she gets the A4 folders in no bother) and books, it's heavy - but it's weathered everything she's chucked at it. Longest lasting bag she's ever had. I just had a look for it to post a photo, to show it's scuffed but still solid, I can't find it, she's gone away for a week and I think she's taken it with her. Bag success!Edit - August 2019. Another year finished - she's still using the same bag, and starting again in September with it. Still no holes, tears, and straps are intact. I see these other reviews about bag fakes, can only assume this one was the genuine article. I see it's gone up though - 70 quid - £ouch! Still cheaper than buying a bag every year (or more).Edit - December 2020. The bag has moved 300 miles away to University. All straps intact. No rips, holes or tears. What’s not to like ?!

When I first took it out of the box, I thought it was far too small and actually had second thoughts about it. But after taking a closer look at it, and putting things I would pack into it, I fell in love with it. It's small, but it can hold a bit more than I thought it would. It's the perfect size for going to amusement parks, trips to the city, museums, or for whenever you want to have something small but be hands free. Which is the reason I bought it for. It's great for packing only the essentials, which is something one should keep in mind when thinking about purchasing. So far in the main compartment, I've packed my wallet, zipper pouch that contains feminine products, my epipen, a comb,a compact mirror, an extra hair tie, my instax mini 8, an extra pack of film, hand lotion and lip balm. In the small zipper compartment upfront, I put ear buds along with my iPod shuffle. The side pockets are a bit small, but you could easily fit your phone, maps, brochures etc. It also comes with a foam insert in the main compartment pocket which is meant to be used as a seat while hiking. IMO, its far too small, so I'll just keep it inside to keep the bag's structure. Overall, the fog color is a nice neutral gray color, and it looks adorable. But again like I said, its just enough space to fit essentials. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small pack. After purchasing this, I'm definitely going to get the Classic size in another color.

I have a bad back, and decided it was better to have a backpack rather than a shoulder bag, which constantly leaves my spine out of alignment. I went for the "mini" version so I wouldn't be tempted to overfill it and make it too heavy. It's a perfect size. I'm used to something bigger, only for carrying a book sometimes along with daily things, but I can fit novel-sized books in this.I've been using it for a few weeks now, and the quality is great. It's only getting 4 stars because the zip on the small front pocket, and the pocket itself, is a little awkward to use. I think it's because there's a flap over it, which makes it more waterproof. I just keep something in there I don't need to use all the time and it's fine.I love the colors,but wish I'd chosen an all-solid one, so that it would look a little more "grown-up." It is a kid's bag. Also, bear in mind that your monitor screen will almost never exactly match the color of the product you order. Every monitor looks different, every photo is different (lighting, camera, etc). I find it's helpful to look at as many photos of an item as possible (manufacturer's website, amazon, other sellers), to find an "average" of what something might look like - definitely did that with this bag. The photo here is dark (on my monitor), but I prefer what the product actually looks like. I love both colors, but might have preferred either one as a solid for the bag (both are available).

This little bag holds so much (full list below)! The color Fog is great: it's neutral and chic, and it doesn't get dirty. I had the black version for a few days before returning it because it showed so much dust, and I'm not a fan of all the bright color options. This is just perfect. I accidentally marked the outside with a black gel pen, but it came out super quick. The fabric is really easy to clean and water/stain resistant.My only wish is that the top handles were just slightly larger, maybe by an inch or so. I love the handles because I can carry the bag like a tote, either just down by my side or hanging off my forearm. It would just be easier to get my hands through if they were a little longer,but that's trying really hard to find a fault.In the main compartment: two (yes, two!) A5 sketchbooks, a Kindle Paperwhite, an 8oz water bottle, a large sunglasses case, a 20cm x 9cm x 5cm pencil case, and a scarf or light sweater. In the back inner pocket: the included seat (which is handy for sitting outside), 2 folded Baggu standard-size reusable shopping bags. In the left side pock: a travel-size bottle of sun-screen, a small tube of hand cream, a Tide pen, an ink pen, and a small hand mirror. In the right side pocket: my Nexus 6P (a large phone). In the front pocket: my car/house keys, my wallet (slim front-pants-pocket size), a pack of gum, chapstick, a small travel-pot of Aquaphor, and hair ties.

Firstly, I ordered from OutdoorEquipped and I'm 100% sure it's authentic based on what people here are saying with how the fakes looked like. The spelling of the tags all checked out, the size matched the manufacturer's description, the stitching pattern is of the genuine kind, etc.I wanted a small bag that can still carry a lot. I also may have bought this bag for its aesthetic. I normally carry around 2 Muji notebooks, a makeup bag, a pencil case, a wallet, a water bottle, and scarf. Everything can fit and there's still more room to spare. I imagine that this bag would also be excellent for traveling and hiking.I ordered a navy one, and the color is slightly darker than how it appears online; but otherwise,it's not a big difference. Material seems very sturdy, and even though I packed a lot in this bag, it is still remarkably light. The material is a bit stiff, but I'm pretty The side pockets cannot really hold a water bottle unfortunately, but a small umbrella can fit as well. The front pocket is not too small: my keys can fit as well as a pack of tissues and chapstick.Also, for reference, I'm 5'0", and for once, this bag did not dwarf me at all, so if you're petite, this bag is the perfect size.

After looking through tons of reviews for tons of companies and tons of matching bags, we found this! We read a few reviews saying that it was not real, so we were a little afraid...but we said if it wasn’t we would just return and try again! Mind u we looked at every one like this, and went thru all the photos etc, and this one was slightly more priced than the other ones but had the least amount of negative reviews. So we bought it and are beyond happy with the purchase!I’m not sure why some people said they received knockoffs, the only thing I can guess is they bought like 2-3 of the same ones, probably the cheaper one, and either got them confused or Amazon did,or they returned the knockoff and got this one for cheaper. Or the mail carrier damaged or stained it on the way to their homes. It sounds mean to say, but seriously, I cannot think of any other reasons that there could be, this is 100% genuine and brand new!I will add, my “adopted” 18 yo kid put it on and she is 5’1” and it looks adorable on her! (I just adopt all of my sons friends, and try to make sure to buy them the right things! Or buy it for them!)

I love this backpack! I have the classic as well, which I use to carry my stuff when I'm going to work, but it's way too big to use as a regular purse. This one works perfectly though! It is really small, but it's honestly pretty much the same size as some other mini, purse-sized backpacks I have. They do take some breaking in, but my classic broke in really quickly. I haven't had a chance to use this one as much, but it's already getting looser. The black also gets a bit dirty looking pretty quickly (more faded than dirty really), which I prefer. The classic I have though is in frost green and doesn't show dirt in the same way.You can fit a lot in the bag, more than I can typically fit in my other mini backpacks.I've put a book, my wallet, and a couple pencil-case size pouches that hold all my other stuff and it's still got more room. I feel like it will be great for when I go hiking too so I can carry along a book and some food or something (for a short day hike, clearly). Plus it just looks cute and not something you see everyday, or at least you don't see them a lot around here.

I read a ton of reviews about kankens before buying and this is what happened...I purchased both the mini kanken and the 15 inch laptop kanken in forest green. I planned on using the mini as a purse and the backpack for college. So both were delivered just today so I haven't really used them but this is what I can tell you:Both are authentic! The mini was sold by pipeline24 and fufilled by amazon prime. The wasa 6 was on the button, proper markings on zipper and the inside name patch was the correct color, also the inside tag said made in Vietnam. The 15 inch laptop kanken was sold by outdoor equip and also fufilled by amazon prime. I feel like selecting sellers using prime really helped to ensure I got the real deal.Next off, the color.. I felt like in pictures the forest green looked like a military green with a hint of grey. This was what I was looking for and exactly what I recieved! Lastly I will say there are a few white marks which I expected and aren't a big deal to me but it may be good to keep in mind for others. I love these bags and can't wait to start using them!

So happy to get this cute little backpack! I’ve had my eye on the mini kanken for a while now and have done a lot of research on identifying genuine kankens, and I can confirm that I received an authentic Fjallraven kanken mini royal blue pinstripe backpack from the Zappos seller. The Swedish royal emblem on the tag is multi colored, the buttons say WASA 6, the zippers have YKK on them, and the logo patch is reflective. There is also the Swedish flag on the inside, and the stitching on the backpack is neat and professional. Depending on the year it was made, a genuine kanken might not have all of these features (I’ve heard of some real kankens not having the flag on the inside or having a sparkly logo patch instead of a reflective one)but a genuine kanken should have clean stitching and the fabric should feel stiff. I can fit a 17 oz water bottle, book, journal, wallet, and sunglasses inside with room to spare. Definitely too small to use for school in my opinion, but perfect as an everyday purse, hiking backpack, or day trip bag.

Having owned a Kanken before, I can confirm the one received from Amazon is genuine. The only negative about this bag is the way you have to unsnap and pull through the straps when you first receive it...that took some time. For reference I am 5'2" and it looks great (not too small) with long enough straps that I can wear it over a puffy parka comfortably. I was looking for something to replace a purse when I want to be hands-free, whether going to the beach or dog park, or just meandering around the farmers market. It can hold quite a lot without looking overstuffed. In terms of color, the Graphite is a beautiful cool slate blue-gray and will not clash with anything I wear (that was the goal).My previous Kanken was in Sand, which I also highly recommend if you're looking for an earthy neutral. I can't wait to use the Mini Kanken and might even order one more!

So happy with my new Fjallraven Kanken mini. I have been wanting to buy this bag for years now and finally decided to treat myself. I originally bought the larger classic size but I didn’t quite enjoy how rigid and structured it was and ended up returning it. This small size is perfect as I don’t need it for school/ uni anymore, it fits all my everyday essentials and then some.The colour I picked is royal blue, I was worried about it being too bright but it’s more of a toned down greyish blue which I love.Came packaged very nicely just like the ones you would get if you ordered directly from Fjallraven. Seems original, I did a lot of research into fakes and so far it all seems fine.10/10 would recommend.I’m now using it as a work bag and I can’t wait to take it on all my summer trips.Will post updated pictures and review after longer use

After reading the reviews, I noticed some people received counterfeit bags, so it is always important to ensure that the seller is legit.You should always check their ratings, and see if they are mentioned negatively or positively in other reviews.Before ordering, if you have a select style and color, you should also contact the seller and ensure that they are getting the products directly from the original sources, e.g. Vietnam (for this bag)If any of you plan on ordering a bag from Moly Magnolia, I can ensure that they are a legit seller as well, however I am not sure about any other seller.Also, it may seem a little sketchy, as the silk tag inside the bag says made in "Viet nam" instead of "Vietnam," but that is a translation error,and it is still authentic!Overall though, great bag, and it feels very durable.
