This is a great backpack. I cycle to the supermarket and fill it with heavy shopping 2 or 3 times a week and all the zips and stitching is still perfect after 5 years. Used it for 100s of gym trips, low hundreds! and usually popping into Lidls next door so I cycle there, the 6 miles home with damp gym gear and weighty meat and veg no problem (other than being exhausted from the exercise!). the 'flow technology' seems to work well so my back is no stickier than the rest of me after a hard ride.At only 25L I probably make more shopping trips than I might, but I love fresh veg (and bread) so I'm not complaining. My15.6 laptop fits in fine when needed and the inside padding makes it comfortable.I usually put a small towel or something shock absorbant on the bottom in case I drop the bag but if I put it in the pocket that lines the back inside, it's off the bottom.Only one small inside zip pocket isn't perfect but it's there so I put a spare bank card in it in case I forget or lose my wallet. which happens to me too often! I safely tie bags onto the outside straps sometimes which works even if it might make me look a bit daft. The side pockets are great for water or even wallet and phone for just local shopping trips. The 24/7 plus has a clip fastening largeish pocket on the back, which again can be useful for damp towels or litter after a picnic, whatever. This is probably the first product review I've written on here despite at least one order a week over 10 years plus, (usually wanting to keep good ideas to myself!), but reading other reviews and thinking I might benefit from another bigger one of the same I concluded I don't need another and it was £28 very well spent 5 years ago.Again referring to another review it usually stands up happily on its own unless your packing prevents that. Don't know if I'm allowed but it cleans up like new on a gentle wash!

I'm quite a rucksack junkie, and have an Osprey for everyday stuff and a Lowe Alpine Airzone Pro as a main hiking pack. I needed something simple and affordable for messing around on short hikes, biking and geocaching.Originally I bought something far more expensive and fussy, and had to send it back as it didn't fit right. I saw this come up in a sale and got it for dirt cheap, not expecting too much. After a few turns around the terrace, I can say that this is absolutely great. When I got it I was a little worried that the hardware looked a bit cheap. The clips and buckles are plastic, and so is the little caribiner that is attached. In use, they are actually quite strong so I believe my fears were unfounded. The bag is very comfortable on the back, but can flex a little so moderately decent packing is required. It has some sort of foam that it claims keeps the sweat away, but in my experience, very few packs can do this really effectively. You're always better off going with what feels comfortable as any anti sweat technology is in reality fairly negligible on almost any pack I believe. But, it's good that this claims to help at least. Time will tell on that one. There is a hydration sleeve and hole, an outer and inner small zipped pocket, an outer sleeve, a bottle sleeve on each side, as well as the large main compartment..so plenty of opportunity to pack as you like.My boxes are ticked anyway. A sturdy bag, packing options and a sternum strap. As a bonus, it looks quite modern and stylish. It's not overly padded or technical so I wouldn't say this is suitable as a laptop carrier, or schoolbag perhaps. There is no organiser pocket either, which is my only real niggle. All said and done, I got this very cheap as I say but would be prepared to pay between 20 and 30 pounds quite easily.

Having had previous Berghaus bag for best part of 10 years when the zip finally started to go it was only going to be replaced by another 30lIt’s perfect for my commuting and gym lifestyle - the large front bag holds work and personal phone, wallet, train ticket holder, over ear headphones and iPad.Internally to main section there’s the laptop section at the back and although it’s less depth than the previous model it comfortably fits Tupperware for lunch at bottom, gym and work kit and whatever else I may need.Side pockets are great for my cycling shoes or coffee flask and I’ve added to the carabiner with a couple more, for various items as this version doesn’t have the clips that previous model did .Seems to have a longer narrower dimension to it with a strong shape, which also works for me as a runner and cyclist as it is in line with my profile so I can see behind me.Certainly for people like me it seems like feedback (that others!) have provided has been taken on board.Very happy with purchase and a couple people in the office have got the 20/30 l

So so happy with this rucksack, it has all the features I wanted, is great value for money and well made.I bought it to take as stowaway hand luggage on Ryanair flights, as I was sick of paying extra to take a little suitcase with me. Though it is slightly taller (4cm) than allowed (though the width and depth are perfect), I figured it would be fine, after having seen so many passengers with giant rucksacks with them, never getting checked!!What I think is so impressive about this rucksack is that it is simplicity combined with functionality in a small-ish, good value for money rucksack. Though it is simple by design, it checked all my boxes. The features I liked were the simple black design (I don't much like the look of 'busy'rucksacks), 2 drink holders, well designed zips that don't get caught, a chest strap, handy little slots inside and outside (perfect for your passport, keys or phone), an extra little section inside (good for slotting in a laptop or hydration bladder) and a little hole for the tube of a hydration bladder to slot through.

When looking for a bag, I wanted something that looks casual enough for weekends and was also practical enough for the working week. Before getting this bag, I used two bags. A laptop bag for work, and a Herschel backpack for weekends. I would have loved the casual look of the Herschel bag but with more practicality. That bag whilst looking good, doesn't have any compartments or side pockets. This Berghaus (25L) has now replaced both. I like its neutral look. For the working week, it carries my 15inch laptop with no problem and has space for any necessary paperwork. A side pocket to carry a brolly, a side pocket for bottle of water. There's also a separate pocket sized compartment, useful for wallet or keys. At weekends, it's a small unobtrusive bag that carries what you need for a day. Space for a jumper, newspaper/magazines/book. Also a useful size for a small grocery shop. For me, perfect!

Bought this 25L model to replace the first one I bought because my wife stole that for work! And that was to replace its predecessor, a similar-sized Berghaus that survived nearly fifteen years of almost daily use until it wore through at the bottom. It's comfortable, light, has just enough features for most UK uses. The little krab is a bit of an unnecessary feature but does no harm. Seems to be as well constructed as the last one so I'm hoping for similar longevity. Something that leaves more of an air gap between back and sack would be more appropriate in hotter climes or the height of summer, and there isn't a flap covering the top zip which might be an issue in heavy rain, but otherwise this is a great product and still worth five stars.

Mine is the 15l version. Just right for a day walking bag...room for a lightweight coat, water bottle (inside), phone and a few bits. Main thing for me was to be able to go for a decent walk but leaving both hands free. It's not a big bag, so if you're on a serious expedition, this would be wholly unsuitable and way too small, but for me just right. I've given 4 stars because (1) there aren't any outside pockets (2) the inside sockets aren't particularly well designed - the larger pocket would be better sized for a water bottle and the smaller zipped pocket is only just large enough for a phone, not phone and wallet. But overall, it's a decent bag,not too expensive and just right when there's not too much to carry

We've been short of a small bag to toss a few things in and go ("day bag"?), and often took a larger bag and unnecessary things. The 15L model is small, simple, and just right for us.It's not exactly as advertised, which seems to describe the 20L+ models, so I've provided photos. Specifically there's no chest strap and no compression strap, but that's ok for our needs so not sending it back.If you are carrying heavier things (maybe cameras or books) the good news is the back and shoulder straps are padded (see photos), but again it doesn't have a chest strap.Build quality and material seem good, as you'd expect from Berghaus.Overall we're happy with this bag, especially at the sale price.

High quality sturdy attractive daysack offering 2 compartments,( smaller front one is ideal for waterproofs, drinks etc and can be accessed without opening main compartment. ) I am 6ft5ins with 52inch chest and the with the straps at full length the fit is great with good comfort, and padded area in contact with your back makes for excellent comfort. One niggle is the silly plastic carabiner ........NEVER attach keys or other valuable items via the carabiner, as they could be quite easily removed by someone standing near you !!! Overall a great value comfortable and useable sack perfect for day trips/hikes./ shopping/ overnights.

This is a great quality pack for a good price. The most important factor for me is that the advertised 30l capacity is almost entirely taken up by one big useful section. It’s not split into 2/3/4 annoyingly small sections you often find in other backpacks. The fabric is very durable and the zips are good quality. They started quite stiff but they are running more smoothly now. The smaller front pocket is partitioned in a sensible manner.Due to the shape and strap position, the pack naturally sits high on your back, which is very good for comfort and maintaining good posture during extended use.A great value pack

Use for hand luggage when going on holiday, etc. Use for holding passports, and personal items when away. My old rucksack, I had for many years, was a little smaller, and I struggled to carry two beach towels, and had forced stitching open. This new rucksack easily holds two folded up beach towels, plus my kindle fire, paper white, and headphones. Well made, although zips a little stiff, but no doubt will become looser when used more. Well worth money, very pleased with product, and if you purchase the item, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Bought this under an offer for a small trip and happy with the quality of the bag. It was easy to adjust and very comfortable to wear. The only thing this bag lacks is a second, zippered compartment. either internally or external. There is a tiny, zippered internal pouch which is fine for a wallet or passport. There is a hydration sleeve and hole, an outer sleeve, a bottle sleeve on each side, not to mention if you get caught in even a light shower that anything in here will get wet. I only used this external compartment to carry a weather cover.

I bought the rucksack as a gym bag.It is a great size and fits a lot. I can get a pair a tracksuit, pair of boxing gloves, skipping rope inside no problem. It also has side pockets for a water bottle with clever elastic cross straps to hold in taller bottles. The bag itself is lightweight and wipeable. The carabiners pictured are plastic which is a real shame as they will snap if you have anything heavy on them. I may very well replace these with lightweight aluminium ones that I have bought which will enable me to hang other items off the bag.

Purchased this bag on 16 August and got delivered on 17 August with standard delivery, really fast delivery. The bag is what you would expect from Berghaus, good material, comfortable to wear and walk around with it on my back. Furthermore, there is a lot space to store your items. A open compartment at the front, a smaller zipped compartment which is small and a bigger zipped compartment which has a pocket for a laptop and is enough room to fit a folder. I will be using this bag for the next 2 years whilst I am college. Definitely worth buying.

Positives: Brought it on a ridiculous offer, good quality material and stitching, large front un-zipped pocket, hydration bag/walkman/usb power bank lead compatible, has small adjustable chest strap, smaller pockets inside main pocket. Not waterproof but is reasonably rain/shower proof for 30 minutes or less.Negatives: Shoulder straps come in tightly at the top, there are plastic rather than metal carabiner, no air-flow system like the plus modelMine came as a large 25 litre pack, overall, well made, good quality, very happy
