I wanted an ultra lightweight, good looking day pack for everyday use while I'm traveling and need a smaller pack besides my kestrel 48. I ended up using this at work and while shopping at hometown. it's a great item that has its pros ad cons:pros:1) got in a rain, did a pretty good job considering it's very thin material2) feels strong and durable, very lightweight, breathable.3) Might be more comfortable than same products from other brands4) looks really good, got a blue one.cons:1) Converting it into a small pack as stated is not that easy. Also it does not come with instruction how to do so safely.2) This pack for me seems best when not loaded heavily. I put my camera, kit lens, power bank, extra battery, extra shirt and rain jacket, wallet , keys and small items, with total weight of 2.2 kg and it was ok, but heavier than that was not very comfortable while wearing on shirt. If you wear a jacket , than the straps won't dig into your shoulders as much and you can go with 3 or 4 kilos, depends on you. for me the comfort zone is 2 kg.3) it's a bit transparent, I could see my neon green shirt from the outside4) it does not have it's own shape and is very thin , so does not provide any protection for items inside.what I did was, I put my cloth or soft items on the bottom and on the sides than added others items on top, like my camera. This is not a perfect bag, but I really like it anyways ( till now ) and don't regret getting it. It's not for heavy loads and easily breakable items, but it was never meant to be used for that. I use this more often than my 25 liter day pack with a mash back that I used to wear almost everyday. I'll see how this works in summer.I do recommend this lovely osprey product if you think you need a pack like this. I don't expect others brands to have better value options for the price.

I paid full price, no discount. This little bag really held up. I just returned from a 3 week trip backpacking through Asia and this Osprey bag was my daily walk-around bag. The small compartment at the top is really handy for wallet/money, keys, maps, cell phone, passports or any other items you need at the ready. Meanwhile the main compartment has plenty of space to stuff a jacket, water bottles, sun screen, or other larger items. The bottle holder was quite handy, and was able to handle small to medium sized bottles well. However, the larger 1.5L bottles felt a little unbalanced in it, so I typically carried those inside the main compartment. A second bottle holder on the other side would have been welcome, but we got by fine.Once you get the hang of rolling/folding it up and stuffing it into its self-contained travel pouch, you can get it from bag form down to travel pouch in maybe 30 seconds. When it's all packed up you're looking at something about the size of your fist, so it's pretty easy to stuff into luggage. The zippers never gave me any trouble, and the material of the bag and straps is extremely lightweight and breathable, allowing it to be carried for extended periods of time in hot weather without issue. This bag might be of a higher quality than some of the similar but cheaper brand-x offerings on here, as I observed no issues with stitching, zipper, or material quality that seemed to continually come up in reviews of those products.

Okay, so everyone knows this is a very light backpack and when you order it in black you’ll get a dark green color. Here are some things most people don't mention...-If you place one standard 15-20 ounce plastic bottle in the side pocket it will wobble too much and will fall out. To avoid that you can place two 15-20 ounce bottles (yes two will fit) or one 25-35 ounce bottle.-The material of this backpack is about 50% transparent. This means is you place condoms, tampons, sex lubricant etc. people will be able to see most of the items you have inside. When me and my sister went camping I could see her vibrator in the bag as she was walking.-Don't expect that you will be able to fill this backpack and it will look just like the picture (fully expanded). That wont happen. Since the backpack does not have any padding it will fall to the heavier side when you lay it on the ground. If you carry it with one hand or place it on your shoulders using the straps you will feel and notice that everything inside comes together in a downward/center motion. In other words, don't place anything fragile inside because EVERY item will rub/bump against all other items inside. If you don't mind these small negatives this product is a solid 5 stars. I bought 2 and the material is very strong. I like how you can open the zipper very wide. Osprey bags are like Toyota’s and Honda’s...SUPER RELIABLE even when abused.

This has been a fabulous travel backpack for me. I used it for going on cruises. It's especially great for Alaska when I need to take things off the ship, just in case. You never know when it will suddenly get cold, rain, or warm up and you'll need to take layers off. You have a place to keep it all that doesn't weigh you down. This tucks so easily back into itself so it takes very little space when you pack. The straps are comfortable with a thin little foam layer inside that doesn't add any bulk. The thin handle on top makes it easy to hang on a bathroom door hook or on the corner of a chair while you eat. The extra little zipper compartment makes for easy access to your money, lip balm, seapass card or ID. It even has a little stretchy pocket on the side for a bottle of water or anything else you might need to tuck into the side quickly that doesn't need to be securely zipped out of sight. It isn't the color that it appears on my computer monitor. When I got it I thought they sent the wrong color. But I like it. It appears army green to me. My husband claims it looks grey. I say he's color blind.I love Osprey products and this one has proven to be very durable. It's one of the smartest things I purchased for travel. I realized I needed something like this while visiting my son in Seattle and had it shipped there by prime shipping so it arrived before we boarded the ship.

I like it! It's great to have around if you're traveling and can only bring one piece of carry-on, or if you're backpacking and want to bring along a daypack.(+) large outer mesh pocket and a small inner pocket right at the top -- the mesh pocket can fit a large water bottle, or a couple of smaller ones; the small pocket is great for keeping something safe;(+) straps are slightly wider and more comfortable than what I've seen on other similar packs;(+) looks like it's at least water resistant, and pretty sturdy;(+) large enough to fit a 15" MBP in a soft pouch - it might move around a little bit, though;(-) no structure whatsoever - which you probably expected, but it means that you can make it comfortable or uncomfortable depending on what you pack inside and how; an iPad in a soft pouch would be great resting against your back, a collection of rocks would not; open carefully - a few years ago, I broke a camera lens by trying to get something from a similar backpack from a different brand;(~) not the absolute smallest option when folded, but I think the pockets make up for it;(~) I don't have a running backpack, but I was able to go jogging with this, carrying a fleece to put on when taking a break; tightening the straps all the way, it didn't flail too much, but definitely not something I'd do on a regular basis.

I was initially concerned that this pack was too expensive for what it was, after seeing other cheaper options on Amazon. I bought it anyway and used it as a supplementary day pack on a 2 week trip to Africa. It worked out fantastically well. I didn't fill it with a lot of heavy items, but I did stuff it a couple of times with jackets, bottles of water, chargers, snacks, sunglasses, etc, all the things that you take on a day trip out from your hotel somewhere. The outside side pocket worked great for a bottle of water and even more. The smaller zipper pocket at the top of the bag was terrific for the little things you may want to access without having to dig (tic tacs, bag of trailmix, etc).Nice job Osprey. The only improvement I'd possibly make, and this is a minor comment that doesn't detract from how how I feel -- is to maybe add one more zipper pocket somewhere and include the ability to cinch the shoulder straps across your chest. Neither of these issues were a problem at all for me, but I could see how someone may care about that. On the flip side, this pack is so amazingly light and packable that I would hesitate to add any features that would take away from that quality. I bought the bed bands suggested by another reviewer and never used them.

This bag amazing. It arrived in the mail as I was scrambling to ge the family out the door for a Saturday soccer game. I opened the Amazon box as everyone shouted thing to remember to bring. I no kidding ripped off the tags and started loading this pack up with the water bottles, sun screen, bug spray, and snacks. So lite and so easy to fill up with what you need for an outing. Next day, I took it as we all went to the beach, so for that I used it for: sun screen, dive computer (made a scuba dive from the beach), rash guard, water bottle, sun screen. When I did my dive, I then used the bag to hold my hat, sunglasses, wallet, car keys, and cell phone. Pack protected everything from sand and water drips beaded up and didn't get through.I love the fact that I don't need to bring a larger bag (which for me is a Camelbak MilTac HAWG) for simple outings that don't need that bulk. This bag is perfect for the two outings I used it for, I mean PERFECT. So in one weekend I was convinced and wondered what took me so long to get one of these. I recommend this one over similar products due to the little pocket on top for keys, wallets, phones, and due to the quality of materials used.

This bag is not meant for rich people meaning that if you are rich you can afford buying several cheap bags. While poor people like me search and read to find best products in the market. The bag is good quality. I am a Sea to Summit guy but believe me Osprey nailed it with this bag. From the moment you hold the bag you can see that this is not a cheap smelly plastic bag.1). The material is very good.2). The stitches are well made.3). The straps seems to be comfortable enough.4). It has one mesh pocket for a water bottle.5). One extra small pocket on the top for easy access.6). The zippers are well made and strong.7).All this and yet is is super ultra-lightWight st only 3.17 Oz /0.009 kgRemember this bag is a light weight bag for those who want a 18L bag that is ultra-lightweight and so packable.I take this to my backpacking trips so I can use it when I want to go for small trips around my camp....etc.As I said if you are rich then don't buy this bag and go buy cheap plastic bag as you can afford buying again and again. If you are poor and looking for great quality bag that can last forever then this is the right bag for you.

Osprey has always been my go-to pack. I purchased this pack for a trip to Hawaii. This pack, which honestly, is more like a sack can be folded into itself and forced to fit in about any size space. I had a larger pack with me for our longer hikes, but carried this with me for just hikes that lasted a few hours. I stuffed clothing, water bottles, food and about every other small item you would want for a short hike. Hands down, Osprey makes the best packs and this is no exception. I now use this pack for the gym after work. It will hold shoes, and clothing. It also has a small pocket at the top which will keys, wallets, etc. nicely. Upon arrival the pack seems flimsy, but I have already put this thing through pretty strenuous test and not a single tear or other sign of wear. The only item I might add to the pack to make it slightly better (for me) would be to add straps at the bottom. While hiking, it is nice to secure a pack around the waist as well as the shoulders. However, since it is such a small pack and not really meant for long hours of hiking, it isn't necessary. I give it 5 stars for design, packability and overall usefulness.

We bought this to use as a day bag on a recent city trip. It packs away into a (very) small pouch; it has a slight green colour to it so I called it the grenade. When unpacked it can carry everything you need to keep your pockets empty, and hold a jumper/light jacket if needed. There is a pouch on the outside that can hold a 600ml bottle of water without feeling like it will tip out. When lightly filled the bag lays against your back and does not stick out, so you aren't constantly worried about hitting something/someone in confined areas. The bag is light but feels strong and so far shows no signs of damage. The straps are thin but do not dig into your shoulders and was comfortable to wear for full days out and about. At the end of the trip it packed away into its pouch without issue and took up minimal space in my bag.Outside of holidays it makes for a good day bag when you know you'll have more stuff to carry than can fit in your pockets, but don't want to be holding onto anything. My girlfriend was initially sceptical considering the price and how light and flimsy it appears, but has since been sold on it.

Title says it all. This is not for back country. It’s light weight nylon is thin and can easily tear on a branch or rocks when placed/dropped on the ground (get an ReI Flashpack, if you want something light weight but more durable). Around town and small trips to the beach are this pack’s sweet spots. You can fit a lot into this thing. I am currently traveling in Miami and you can see my daily gear for sight seeing and the beach, the pack is also shown in the picture. It all fits and takes less than half the volume. There is still room for two one-liter water bottles and some (towel, ground sheet for the beach, snacks, etc.). There are no chest or waist straps,so don’t plan to run/jog with the pack (the strapless feature is another reason why I feel this pack is not worthy for the trail). It rained on us today and the pack held up pretty well, considering the lightweight design of the nylon. In all, this is a solid pack for daily use around town. It would be the perfect trail day-pack if it had at least a chest strap. Otherwise, no complaints and I will buy another once this one lives it’s full life.

Loved this bag because of HOW MUCH it holds, while taking up very little space. This was a perfect travel bag- super light, fits in any small space, durable, water resistant!Notes to consider--the teal/grey color seemed to be teal/forest green instead. This didn't bother me, but it may bother you if your heart is set on the grey-the teal part of my bag was somewhat see-through, not ideal for when you have tampons at the bottom of your bag, but then again the small pocket at the top is ideal for those items anyway. That small pocket is actually quite deep and held almost all of my make-up and small personal items.-this bag holds a lot of stuff!I was able to scrunch up my down jacket inside the bag while on my flight- very convenient.-because of the structure of the bag, it doesn't stay standing when you open it up to pull things out. If you open the zippers all the way, it folds open dropping things out. This is the compromise for having a bag that folds down to practically nothing. Again- worth it to me!

I purchased this for a trip to Chamonix, France in the summer. The weather there warranted both warm and colder temps, and I could only travel with my small, rolling carry on suitcase. Therefore, I needed a daypack to bring along that would not take up much room in my suitcase, since my gear and clothing maximized the space I had. This one was perfect! It packs down so flat, it took no space in my small suitcase, yet it was sturdy enough for my daily hikes. I was able to pack inside of it daily: a warmer coat/raincoat/hat/food/journal/camera/money & wallet/water bottle in it, and the pack held all of that just fine. The lightweight material made me barely feel it on my back, and it was great for my day hiking needs. I don't believe it's waterproof, but on a day we had rain, I just stuffed the pack under my raincoat and then it was covered while walking in hard rain. I am grateful for this purchase, because for the low cost and it's ability to pack well-- it was well worth it! it was sturdy and great!

Positives --Small and very light.Very simple with an internal pocket for smaller items.Packs up small.Reasonable size shoulder straps make It a sensible bag to use for a whole day.Side bottle pouch (a bit loose but works well for light bottle).I carry this with me on trips to use as a day bag or as a spare, as it takes up no space it is always good to have the extra capacity. I used this to replace my Sea to Summit SilNylon bag which I use so often it has holes in it. This one does not fold up as small but the better shoulder straps are worth the difference.Negatives --No waist strap but that is hardly an issue.Colour is a bit green for something listed as Grey. Not the cheapest but with theirguarantee it should last a lifetime.A little hard to fold up (but that is not a problem).I don't like that the velcro closing pocket you fold the pack up into won't close the velcro when the bag is unfolded (but expect that is just me).

I basically have carried this with me everyday since I bought it. Dropped it on concrete with a stainless bottle and it cut the bottom, maybe an inch or 2. I put a small strip of gorilla tape inside and out, and it's held up to a LOT of abuse.I saw reviews about it being a bad daypack. It's an ultra-light stuff sack lol. You can't take everything with you. That being said, I regularly carry:32oz stainless water bottle, mid-layer, maybe tights, rain jacket, UV buff, wallet, keys, beard comb/oil, and chap stick. A lot of times I have my gimble, gopro, cables or maybe even shoes, so maybe it's not a great daypack, but I couldn't ask for a better UL stuff sack. Oh, the water bottle pocket is useless for actual drinks.I'll throw a mini tripod or like a beanie in there. It's really nice to be able to toss it in your carry-on, then have a smaller bag when you're running around on vacation.
