Others have written about the potential snugness of the waistline but I would recommend that you read some of the reviews to get a feel for what you may need size wise from these trousers. I'm 6'2" with a 37in waist and the XL fits me perfectly. They are absolutely 100% waterproof. I have worn these trousers for hiking and even cycling and they have kept my legs bone dry. They are sufficiently generous in the length to ensure ankles are protected and are roomy enough to be worn with even heavy walking boots. Some have criticized the lack of pockets, however, the zippers on the legs are 2-way so you can unzip from the top to access trouser pockets if you're wearing trousers underneath them. They can also be used to ventilate when resting so you won't get too hot in them.I thoroughly recommend them for general wet weather use and it the current price of ~£80 they are a bargain.

I was wondering what is the difference between the Pac-lite and the Hillwalker overtrousers so I asked Berghaus. The difference is the Pac-lite is single layer Goretex, the Hillwalker is 2 layers. I am 6'4 with 35'' waist. I ordered large/long. The leg length is around 34'', but the waist is kind of snug. Unstretched, 30'' and expanding to a tight 36''. There is no slack on the elastic drawstring. However, I'm sure that the elasticity will give a little over time and the Xl would certainly be too baggy. They certainly are waterproof. Two way leg zippers.4 star rating due to lack of slack in waistband and a pocket would be really handy.

Easy to roll up and store in its own handy stuff sack, lightweight, 100% waterproof, and completely breathable, I am 5-ft 7, and around 11.4 stone, the medium-sized 31-33cm waist in short length are a perfect fit, they are elasticated around the waist and adjustable, and include zips at the bottom end and the top end of the trousers for easy wearing and removing as well as ventilation. I would recommend these to anybody into the outdoor activities camping hiking cycling you name it if you live in the UK and are out and about, this is an essential piece of kit. Highly recommend!

These are very waterproof in prolonged rain. Long zips are easy to get on and off. Only downside is I would prefer poppers to cover the zips not Velcro, but it’s a minor thing. Can’t comment on durability yet only had them a month or so but they seem sturdy. Slightly on the tight side so if you’re in between sizes go for the bigger one, but when you get the right size the cut is good, roomy enough to cover trousers but not baggy. Decent trousers.

Bought this recently and put it strait to the test with a 15 mile hike in very heavy rain that lasted the whole hike, I might as well of stood in a shower for five hours. Very waterproof and breathable, dry as bone after the hike. Very comfy with no restricted movements on the knee or crotch. Fits easily over other trousers. Very well made and will survive the odd thorn bush etc.Well worth the money.

Pretty basic but will do the job. As a result, they are quite expensive for what they are. They feel more like over trousers. Also, they are on the large side. Ordered the 37-39 size but sent them back for the 34-36 which fit well. I’m normally a 36 waist but always want outdoorsy clothes to be a little bigger but these were huge! Still, well made and will no doubt last.

The legs have a zip opening to the top of the leg, this means that it is easy to put them on, no more dragging a muddy boot down the inside of a trouser leg. The zip is covered by a velcon seam. And they certainly are waterproof to squally showers. They are light so easily carried at the bottom of a small rucksack.

Made to a high standard as you’d expect from Berghaus. Completely waterproof, comfortable and warm to wear over normal trousers. Full length leg zips make putting them on over boots easier and gives access to under trouser pockets. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Good fit generally with the exception of the waist. Given that you can't unfasten the waist, elastic is a bit neat for getting over one's backside. Can't comment on how waterproof as not yet used in poor conditions but construction seems good.

Brilliant product, good fit and very good protection from whatever the great British weather throws at you! Best feature is the side zips that help with getting in and out of the trousers in no time at all.

Absolutely fantastic waterproof trousers. Comfortable and easy to get on and off. I didn't know I was wearing them after a couple of minutes. Great quality, as you'd expect from Berghaus.

Comfortable, strong but not stiff to walk in. Easy to to wear having the long zips great for wearing boots. What’s missing are pockets. Still very happy though, thanks seller.

These were a gift and were delivered promptly and very well made and durable. I would recommend these waterproof trousers and well worth the money.

These trousers fit well without restricting movement. Only used once so far but kept me dry without too much of the boil in the bag effect.
