I was interested in practical, light-weight pants for traveling (to Africa, for instance) that block sun, are washable and look nice...and fit well, of course. My usual pants size is 4. I am 5’9” in height, 135 lb, w/athletic build (in my 50’s, have always been active, w/many years playing basketball and running; husband says I have “very powerful legs”). I ordered 4L and found that the waist & rear fit okay, but (like for other reviewers) the area around mid-thigh, where the zip-off section attaches, was uncomfortably tight, unbearably so when sitting (my thighs are ~16-3/4” in that area). Size 6L also fits well around the waist & rear, the length is perfect (just reaches the floor when not in shoes),and the mid-thigh zipper fits just a bit snug, but tolerable. After several hours’ wear I felt that they are comfortable enough and kept the 6L, returned the 4L. I would have given the pants five stars if not for the thigh-tightness issue. Gander Mountain sells their own brand that are looser mid-thigh, but cost ~$20-30 more than these Columbia pants (I purchased the khaki color, which was less expensive than others).

These knee pants are a great buy. I read all the feedback on sizing and ordered a size up. Turns out I'm not sure that was necessary as they fit a little big but nothing a belt can't fix. I like them so much I took a chance and ordered another pair in my regular size. (They should arrive tomorrow so I'm anxious to see how they fit.) The material is light, soft, and quick-drying which makes them a good choice for hiking. The length on me is about the same as Columbia's Everyday Capris--both fall just below the knee. I'm high-waisted so I prefer pants that ride lower and these fit the bill perfectly. They're extremely comfortable and "give" when and where you need them to give. Two side pockets, one vertical zip security pocket on the right side, and two good-size back pockets with Velcro tabs for extra security. Double snap waist closure with nylon zipper. Leg openings are adjustable if needed. Well worth paying full price for these and if you can get them on sale, all the better.

These pants are lightweight and very comfortable - so much so, I had the proverbial feeling of "I didn't even know I was wearing them". Yes I'm being serious. A few times I actually stopped to think - what AM I wearing? Very cool and easy to wear, no binding or rubbing. They are not waterproof, but beads rolled off, and they dried very fast (faster than the panties underneath!) Perfect for two hot and wet days at an amusement park, which was my main reason for choosing them. The zipper pocket was essential, but not as big as I would like. It held my phone and a lip balm on while on roller coasters, but that's about it.The material is very wrinkly after being stuffed in a suitcase - but who cares? They are great summer pants. I like the slim cut - they aren't baggy, yet easy to move in.

First of all, I LOVE these pants. I ordered them in my regular size and they kind of, sort of fit--BUTT, they fit me like a glove and this is a very stretchy lightweight material (tough though). I could have soothed my vanity and kept them--but I wanted to wear these a lot. I knew I would be more comfortable with more room and because the waist is tapered in, I knew going up a size should still fit. I am so glad I did. I rode my bike all day in these pants. There is so much give in the fabric there is no need for a belt and no chance of plumber-butt. Just wonderful, comfortable, and they seemed cool on a breezy 90 degree day. The one zippered leg pocket fit my iPhone and id perfectly.Kinda wish there was another leg pocket but that's no big deal.

These pants are fantastic! I live in a HOT summer climate and spend most of the summer in camp shirts and trail pants because of their comfort, durability and lightweight fabric. I find they work well for air/car travel, outdoor activities, enjoying the boat, etc. and my collection of Columbia pants was starting to get old/stained. These are a new cut to me and I LOVE the fit. They are neither baggy nor tight, and have just the right amount of "give." The drawstring at the knees allows me to put the boat in/out of the water without getting my pants wet. The little zippered pocket at the knee is the perfect size for my smart key and a bit of cash. I will be buying more of these.I also bought the full length and love them, as well.

Very comfortable and lightweight. I sized up (to size 8 regular) because of the reviews about the zippers around the legs being too tight. I'm glad I did because the zippers fit well but the waist was way too big. I took in the waist and now the pants fit very well (first two pictures show how the pants looked when they arrived, the last two pictures were taken after I took in the waist). The legs were quite long so I'm glad I didn't go for the long version. My stats for reference:170 cm58-59 kg67 cm waist95 cm hipsNormally a EU size 36I probably would have rated these pants a 3-star had it not been for Amazon's amazing customer service.I actually got these for free in the end as there were issues with the delivery.

I'm super happy with these pants!I ordered a size 10 and they fit just right for hiking.NOTE: these do fit slimmer in the leg, which is part of why I was so pleased with the fit. Most convertible pants have very wide legs to accommodate the zipper. The stretch fabric is wonderful but, it does mean that the zippers will pull because zippers don't stretch!I would recommend the Saturday pant for those with a slimmer leg in relation to overall pant size.I happen to have slimmer legs, narrower hips and wider waist and the size 10 allowed plenty of room without being tight in the waist, which is rare for me to find!Very happy ?BTW, I also have the Capri version of these.Looove them too!

I love, love, love these pants! I tried some on at a sports store and loved the way they fit. I scanned the barcode using the Amazon app on my phone while still in the dressing room to find they were selling for way cheaper here on Amazon. Score!I'm curvy and they are very flattering. Not loose in the rear and hugs the thighs. The material does stretch after prolonged wear so I find I have to wash them often to shrink them back to normal.Probably my favorite hiking/kayaking pant right now. Oh and they dry very quickly! I never once felt wetness on my legs while kayaking they repel water really fast. I bought 2 pairs. I wish they made them in navy blue!

I purchased two pairs of these, one in khaki and one in a dark sage color (also a third one that has a slightly different leg option and in black) and had to go up two sizes because of the rise on these, otherwise sizing up one would have been fine. My hips are narrow compared to my waist measurement probably causing this problem, so they fall lower on me than others but feel good and I would buy them again, but with these three basic colors, I am well set for years to come to take these on my adventure travels around the world. As I mentioned in other reviews, they do wrinkle along the way, but they don't shrink, wash well, and dry quickly on a hanger.

Received these yesterday, hiked 5miles in them this morning and I am THRILLED! I'm a size 10 with a shapely backside, these stretch perfectly to accommodate a curvy figure and a 10 fits like a 10 around the waist but don't expect the waist to give as much as the rest of the pants. During the hike my skin stayed dry and the material is soft and very light weight.I bought these because I am going on a trip to Central America next month and I am an avid hiker, these will do the trick just fine and I couldn't be happier. Also I bought these in tan and blue and the blue is just loud enough for big personalities. LOVE LOVE LOVE

1st of all it took 3 tries to get the right size..... I wear a 10 in anytime Columbia, a 12 in the print camo Saturday Columbia and a 14 in this color black Saturday!!! So frustating Columbia really need to get its quality control in sizing figured out.I love these Saturday trail pant because, the pockets are real.. deep full hand fits in them front and back... so stashing a phone is easy, the stretch perfectly, dry quick are not hot with wicking material, bungy cord at pant leg end to keep ticks and spinders out!!!Great for outdoors or just about anything !!

Living in Southern California, shorts get transitioned to bermuda type pants for fall and late spring. These are perfect. Pockets are ample, fit is as expected, and these pants dry quickly when wet. On a hike I had to "cinch" the legs up when crossing a stream which was easily done with the string at the cuff. I have played tennis, hiked and golfed in these and I own them in all colors available. I am 62, 5'1" and slender in the hips, but I would venture to say that these with their flexible fabric would work for a hippier individual.

These are perfect for me as I tend to have a little thicker waist and narrow hips and thighs. I usually wear a size 12 but often pants bag and bulge in the seat and thighs. These are light weight, dry quickly, have pockets for when I don't want to carry a purse, and stretch easily (without bagging after) for active days. They sit low enough to be comfy and high enough for bike riding without the dreaded plumber's backside. Love these and I now own three pair and would very much like to see them available in black please!

This is the second pair of Columbia's Saturday Trail II convertible pants that I have bought. I love the fit and the convenience of the zip-off legs. Came in really handy in Alaska this past June, since the day started out chilly, got really warm while we were hiking, then cooled off again. The velcroed back pockets and zippered side pocket kept items more secure during hiking and traveling. I have to note that I bought the size 6 regular based on the sizing guide and the fit is great. I normally wear a size 8.

I rarely leave reviews, but since I have fallen in love so quickly & completely with these pants I thought I would share my thoughts. The pants stretch and move with me, I can squat with out fear of showing crack, also these pants aren't stretched to a larger size by the end of the day. I'm 5'8 and weigh about 160 lbs and have a pear shaped body, size 8s fit perfect and are flattering. I like them so much I have purchased them in 2 other colors. Good luck & I hope you like your pair as much as I like mine!
