I got Numatic NRV200-11 after being completely fed up with all of my previous bag-less vacuums, which even struggled to clean the entire flat before filling up and losing suction. I was looking for something something around £100 mark. Based on reviews and the fact that most professional cleaners use Henry/Numatic, i thought I would give it a go. An I am so happy I did.Sure, the vacuum is not really stylish. It is quite heavy. Rather bulky. And I would not call it 'cutting edge' neither in technology or design department. However, simplicity is what makes is so good.Look:Handsome. It is Henry (or his close relative).Functionality:This vacuum is very simple to use, open and replace the bag or clean the filter. The bag is massive and lasts for several entire flats. The pipes / tubes connect easily. A small criticism is that when the suction is set to maximum, on some carpets the resistance is so great that pulling the pipes may cause them to disconnect. It this happens, means the suction is too high. Just reduce it by a 'relieve' ring on one of the tubes. The power cord is really long (12m?) and it is such a nice change from typical domestic vacuums. It rolls out and in very easily. Despite being bulky and quite heavy, the vacuum rolls easily and maneuvers great around the corners. Did I mention it is quiet? It is.Effectiveness:It works the way you imagine a perfect vacuum to work. Sucks up all the dirt weather this is from carpet or a hard floor. I usually work with reduced suction as full one is to hard work. One thing I cannot comment on are dog/cat's hair, as I do not own a pet.Summary:Cons- Heavy- Bulky- Pipes can occasionally disconnectPros- great suction- massive bag- low noise- very agile- long cord- easy to operateIf you don't care about the fancy looks, and simply need a vacuum to pick up and do the job, this is the one for you. It is such a pleasure not to be bothered by emptying the container every time before/after vacuuming, clean filters etc etc. Take it out, do the job, put it away. Love it.

Numatic (Henry) commercial vacuum cleaner was bought to replace our previous Alyix, which was just a little bit this side of useless. This Numatic is everything the Alyix wasn't: Powerful (lifts the carpet tiles if we aren't careful), does a whole house hoovering before you have to empty the bag, doesn't struggle with anything, and just gets on with the job, so you don't need to keep going over the same area again and again, as we did with the Alyix. All in all a 'proper' vacuum cleaner!Only four stars because of the bag system. It comes with a nice cloth bag, which looks, to the uninitiated (like me), that it can be emptied and then used again. But when you remove it, apart from the small hole where the dust goes in,there is no way to empty it! So the first time or two I spent ages pulling hair and dust and stuff out of the little hole, into the bin, and thinking this is a weird way of emptying a bag. A bit of research showed that these lovely cloth bags were not meant to be emptied, they were meant to be thrown away! This is a wicked waste of resources, but they like you to buy lots of very expensive bags, and throw them away after they get full.To somebody of my generation, used to either using cheap paper bags several times over before throwing them away, or using a bagless system that could be emptied and brushed out, this waste of strongly-made cloth bags seemed incredible! But a bit of research on ebay showed that not only are much cheaper aftermarket paper bags available for this machine, but also good-quality cloth bags with a zipper top, that can be emptied after each use, and then re-used! So now we use the zippered ones, and these are likely to last up to a year apiece before they have to be discarded. Much less expensive, and much easier on resources! So in summary, a good little vacuum cleaner, powerful suck, and holds plenty before it has to be emptied, but let down a bit by its bag system. So much waste could be prevented if companies were not so greedy for profit.

Bought for cleaning our church hall. As I am already an owner of a Henry, it was bought with first hand experience.Although not quite as powerful as my own 1200w Henry, which I have had for a number of years and still going strong, there is still good suction and is doing a far superior job than the old vacuum cleaner. The long lead means I don't have to keep unplugging it so much.It is more of a commercial style cleaner but this model is a little lighter than my own 1200w model. If you are looking for performance, this is far better than a regular cleaner. Ok, it is more bulky but it is not too heavy to pull around, at least not on short pile carpet (no experience with long pile).I have not had a problem with it falling over as some others have commented but I guess it depends how you pull it round. The hose is a bit longer than an average cleaner and so I find it doesn't actually need moving round quite so much.It has no dual speed switch on this model but I wouldn't want less suction anyway. The large capacity bags means it doesn't need emptying so often. I would personally only recommend using the Hepaflow bags. Even when nearly full, there is still decent performance. As someone has previously commented, the metal pipes are a little thinner than the older models but still seem robust. I am not sure if you can still get the hose extension for this model but it used to be available so you can go up the stairs in one hit. The tools are nothing fancy but quite adequate and seem sturdy - no silly gimmicks. An extra feature I don't have on my own Henry is a clip for attaching the pipes for storage. However, I can see this being a bit of a weak point and could easily snap off - not an essential feature. It arrived very swiftly - much earlier than estimated (bought from G & J supplies).I have pets at home and my Henry has always done a good job of cleaning.Recommend it.

This is the bigger brother of domestic Henry; a few inches taller and a little more portly, he is happy to take on even more demanding work. When he seems so powerful he threatens to pull the carpet up, you can let some air into his windpipe to slow him down.Virtually straight out of the box, super simple assembly, and ready for off; Huge Henry is tireless, with a 'can do' attitude that will never let you down. His gleaming smile and cheeky eyes will cheer you through the tasks you dread. Somehow Numatic (Henry's parents - he's made in the UK - Somerset!) have made a motor that complies with EU legislation yet provides more power than you'd think possible.Bumbling along behind you with a very long cord and equally generous hose,he can keep up with you through the whole household, all rooms/banqueting halls, as good on carpet as hard floor. His crevice tool (!) and little brush will help with more fiddly cleaning. The interior filter and Hepa Flo bag will ensure the dust stays where it should; the emptying process is hygienic and quick. The hose can be stowed on board by clipping it onto the back but it tends to wave about a bit, like a one man band, so you'd need space around. Otherwise tuck him away into the butler's pantry until next required.Having had Henry's for years I can tell you they never die. Maybe they'll get retired to sheltered accommodation in the garage, but they go on forever. I am delighted to have this bigger guy for the changeover in my holiday house which needs a thorough going over once a week in order to be as good as new for each set of guests. So glad to to be able to buy British.

We have several Henry's now. The oldest is about 14 and the youngest is 18 months. The oldest one has done several house renovations with us and taken a serious amount of stick over the years and is still going strong. The newest one is one of the low wattage models but still has the same great suction somehow. Unfortunately the new one stopped working but we thought never mind as we had bought it from John Lewis with a 2 year warranty. Unfortunately John Lewis did everything they could to avoid honouring their warranty and kept transferring our calls to Numatic who could not do anything as John Lewis would not give them a service number and arrange to ship the Henry back to Numatic for repair.Although the Henry was out of manufacturers warranty period Numatic offered to repair the Henry for free if we could send it to them. It came back yesterday all working again and with a new set of tools. In the meantime we had complained to the Head of Customer Services at John Lewis, as we could not get anywhere with their call centre and, after pointing out that they were reneging on the terms of their contract with us and threatening to report them to Trading Standards, they refunded the purchase price of the Henry as they still couln't be bothered to do anything with regard to a repair. So all well in the end, I won't be paying inflated prices to buy items from John Lewis on the basis of their warranties anymore, but think Numatic are great and really care about the reputation of their products! Love my Henries!!!

Back in 2006 I reviewed the Numatic 1200W vacuum cleaner, giving it high praise. Since then, I passed it on to a family member (still going strong) and bought a Dyson Animal, which was much better at picking up hairs from carpet. In 2014, the Numatic is exactly the same as the model I had 8 years ago, as far as I can tell. It is still a joy to use - excellent suction, solid construction, easy bag changes. The W rating is lower, at 780W, but I can't tell the difference - maybe the motor is just more efficient.I will be returning to my Dyson however, for one simple reason - the Numatic is not the best at picking up hair from carpets - it does ok but without a brushbar much of it isn't picked up.I'll not mark it down though because a new Dyson is around 3 times the price. For around £100, this is the best hoover money can buy. I believe there is also a brushbar attachment you can buy which could resolve the hair issue but having not tried it, I can't comment on how good it is.

What can I say! This hoover is fantastic. I bought the industrial version because I wanted something that would suck and not just tickle the carpet.Due to new government legislation making companies lower the wattage on electrical devices its hard to find a decent hoover. However this Numatic has a 600 watt motor being the industrial version.Needless to say I contacted my girlfriend in the day to ask how she was getting on with the numatic that had arrived that day.Her reply was that it just gripped to the carpet and that it could suck a golf ball through a garden hose. She inevitably had to turn the air flow on the hose to bring the suction down a little. It comes with all the the right attachmentsto clean awkward little areas like your car etc.To anyone considering buying one of these I thouroughly recomend one. They are easy to store and not to noisy either.A really good quality product, a lot of suction for a good price.MattRead full review...

This vac works really well and using their bags are well worth using as while there is a cost involved have found that NO dust can be found in the receiptable the bag sits in, which mean's hopefully nothing is gettgin into the motor. A couple of issues (otherwise it would have had 5 *) are it tends to be difficult to use the pipes and hose in narrow areas in the bedroom and restricted areas and the unit is a bit top heavy so if a wheel gets caught on something small it will not roll over then it will topple over. On the plus side the replacements like hose, bags are very reasonably priced and there is a nice and long power cable helping in not having to keep unplugging it while moving around the room(s).We bought this after our chimney sweep said he had been using his while cleaning chimneys for over ten years - have to say from our limited experience we feel it will last and last AND does the job it is supposed to do.

After looking at reviews of different types of Hoover's. I decided to buy this one. I'd like to say that I'm definitely NOT disappointed in this machine. If you are looking for extreme power performance then buy this. It's small but the power feels like it's much much larger. I tried it out as soon as it was delivered. I had to keep looking back just to check that I hadn't connected the hose to a Boeing 747 ?It's that powerful. I don't get commission from writing reviews but I'm seriously impressed with the machine that I thought I should do it justice.Very easy to operate and put together. Everything feels top quality as it should from a top brand name.I've bought this to add to my pressure washing business to extend into car valeting. You should opt to buy the accessory pack though. Many years of hoovering to come.Read full review...

I've worked with these types of vacuums for years, as I use to be a cleaner. I can never fault them!My partner and I have been debating which one to get for work (we run a garage, so valeting cars, cleaning the office etc). I'd had enough of the debating and bought this, when it arrived my partner was not happy, but now he's used it he loves it too!!Delivery was fast!TIPS!!!!ALWAYS unravel the WHOLE wire, so it doesn't over heat. Even if you're just doing a tiny room. I always unravel the wire completely and have never had a problem with any of these over heating (other people have.. the naughty ones who don't unravel the wire completely!).Also, spray some air freshener onto the hover bag when it's in the vacuum, makes it smell nice as you vacuum :)

I love this vacuum cleaner. I have used one in the past at work and at home and they have never let me down. As I now live in Italy I didn't think I'd be able to get one delivered here and many you can't. I was overjoyed to discover that this model could be dispatched by Amazon to Italy and it arrived quickly with tracking and was well packaged. The suction on this little fellow is amazing, it lifts my rug right off the floor and isn't as noisy as some other top brands. I'm sure he'll be with us for many years to come as it is very sturdily made and I like the way the cable is manually wound away into the top.

Henry is my new love!!! I have had Dysons and am still planning to get a cordless one, but as we are having a lot of redecorating done at the moment and I'm fed up with the builders using the Dyson, blocking it up and not telling me it had stopped working, I invested in Henry. He was worth the money spent within the first week of use. Yes, he's heavy and doesn't have the refinements that we have become used to but to get the job done you can't beat him!! All the family were impressed and he will stay a permanent member of the household.

These are the best vacs out there . Lower power in all new vacs but suction seems to be the same .once you own one of these you will never want another brand also they go on for ever so will not need to replace as quickly ... We use one at work and no other vac has lasted as long as the Henry . Just bought this one for home as second top advertised one just died ... There's a reason why the deign of these has stayed the same for ever it's tried tested and works in real life . Worth getting the turbo floor tool pity it's not standard

It's an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner, which was exactly what I wanted. Cleans everything in a breeze, works brilliantly on the carpet (rips the carpet out of the floor if we are not careful)! It's also very simple to replace the bag (which is also huge by the way, which means it doesn't require changing that often anyway. But it's fairly heavy and clunky, and it takes a lot of space in the closet. If we could get the same power with an upright vacuum, that would make it perfect.
