This is, by and large, the best tin can opener I have ever used. While it took about five minutes to figure out how it is used because it doesn't come with any packaging other than a little cardboard slip wired to it telling its name, this device is fantastic. The wheel unlocks at a certain part of a 360 degree revolution, and while unlocked, you slot it on the can and then turn the handles again to relock it in place - the item never comes apart, just it is designed to loosen up for a moment and then make space for the can rim. To unlock the can from the can opener, all you have to do is turn the handles in the opposite direction and it will immediately come loose. It cuts the can smoothly and perfectly,it doesn't create a ridged effect on the tin lid, and this is the first tin opener I have ever bought that ACTUALLY 100% REMOVED THE LID. Ever had that problem, when you open a tin and end up having to carefully bend back the lid and then spin it or twist it to remove the tiny bit of metal the tin opener missed? That doesn't happen here.I guess that could be considered one of the flaws - the tin lid will drop into the can and make a mess, I.E if you are eating cheap beans with watery tomato sauce, it'll dissapear beneath the juice etc. Not a major problem though for the functionality of such an awesome device. The handles are very user friendly, my Dad has stiff joints in his hands but he can use this tin opener without a problem.A fantastic device, a must have for the kitchen. Make sure you get it.

You can spend pounds and pounds on kitchen gadgets - you land on a tool like this once in a lifetime and your life suddenly gets so much easier. I live alone BUT and this is a “BIG, BIG BIG (you get the idea) MEGA recommendation - as I’ve said - I live alone but I’ve bought at least 6 of these (for family members) and as sad as it sounds - I’m SO impressed I’ve bought them for Christmas presents ! Everyone I’ve given one to is amazed how amazed they are !! (and )how efficient these little can openers work ! My Mom was in her late 70’s and had tried everything on the market but rated this little opener more than anything else. She never complained about it slipping or the gears slipping (they NEVER EVER SLIP OR DISENGAGE)so for older people who may have problems with their hands - please take it from me you will not have a problem !! My Mom was almost 80 and could open any tin first time on her own (sums up what I’m trying to say).JUST KEEP THE OPENER LUBED (wash it with hot soapy water, dry it as well as you can and leave overnight) then add a drop of oil (I use cycle chain oil which is biodegradable) but you can use olive oil or veg oil - anything to keep the moving parts apart from each other and you won’t have a problem !

This is the best can opener I've ever used. Once the opener is attached to the can (a useful diagram is included) you simply hold the can and turn the handle on the opener. The opener then works it's way effortlessly around the top of the can. The opener also rounds off the edges of the can and lid so there are no sharp edges. That is especially useful if the opener is going to be used by youngsters or the infirm. The opener copes easily with cans that have angled corners (such as sardines or corned beef cans) and that's very handy if you have lost the key or it has broken off.The opener is very good quality and made from high grade stainless steel. There's an arrow to show where to apply a drop of oil and I use silicon lubricant (from any motorist shop). I spray a light film over the opener after washing to protect it from any corrosion. This superb can opener is so much better than the regular can openers we all fret with and it should last for years. Great value for money.Read full review...

After a lifetime of using openers with the standard two piece handle (for the left hand) and the wing nut style opener (for the right hand), this little one comes as a bit of a shock because it has no handle. You simply place the blade over the can rim (as usual) and screw the wing nut style opener clockwise (as usual)... but hold the can with your left hand (or right hand if you're a leftie).Compared to any other opener, this one is a smooth little engineering miracle. It crimps both the rim and the lid as it goes, so both finish up with smooth edges, very safe.It will also open the smallest and most awkward shaped cans, right up to 20kg catering size without any problem...plus it comes with a lifetime guarantee. I like the single picture instructions on the back of the card it's attached to, no rocket science here.I love this little one so much that my trusty 10 year old Brabantia has gone to the landfill.Read full review...

I understand why a few people have said this is fiddly to use or doesn't seem to stay on. Trick is not to try to mount this can opener in either horizontal or vertical positions, it goes on neither way despite how most can openers work! This little beauty sits on your can at its own unique slanted angle while it does its thing. You don't need to worry about that though, just put the cutter over the can lip and turn. It grabs and starts to turn and cuts easily. When finished, give it a turn on the reverse direction and it disengages.Very simple. Needs two hands though unlike some fancy electric ones available now. It is however very small, easy to store and seems strong and able to last a long time.I have owned this for several years now and it still works like new. Made in France. Nice practical gadget.

Seems we learnt that can openers has other shape and still buying them (the others). This one has an unconventional shape but is superior (grab efficiently the can while cutting with no waste of energy, principally while cutting there is not "press" effort but only "twist"),How long human being will continue to lack perception of such a better basic tool? (It exists at least since 15-20 years when I saw it first in Monaco/France)We as a specie are very quick to learn existence of new better tools, but it did't happen for this tool.At the time of writing this review wikipedia has an extensive description for "can opener" but doesn't neither mention this object (I can edit wikipedia but I will not as experiment),honours to the inventor,I'm glad to pay an extra for such a patent.

Put simply - the best can opener I have ever owned. The ultimate test came when opening my favourite Fray Bentos Chicken and Mushroom Pie. No skipping, sliding and going round the can umpteen times to cut the lid off. The serrated feed wheel made a positive contact at the rim edge, cutter went straight in as the key is turned clockwise, a steady 360 degrees cut... and voila. The fact that it uses a more traditional blade to pierce as the cutter (similar to a vintage lever-type, or military P-38 can opener) rather than a wheel, means that it will engage most, if not all, can styles and sizes. I have yet to meet a can it doesn't like.Small, beautifully made... and French... just like Charles Aznavour. So, if you prefer a feast, rather than a famine, get this gadget today.

This has been on my wishlist for about 2 years now and I wish I had just gone ahead an bought it back then. My Ikea stainless steel opener dropped and broke sadly so I thought I would treat myself to this beauty. I have little storage space in my kitchen so this small, useful item is perfect. Most cans I buy have ring pulls but probably 3/10 don't so this is great to have on hand. It is quite weighty for a small item and it took a little fathoming out but then, joy! So easy and comfortable to use. Turning the red handles is not difficult at all. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts given the lengthy guarantee but I would highly recommend this for anyone who likes functional, stylish, high quality and compact tools!

I can't stress enough how good this is. Why this design isn't the standard I do not know. A small thing but a big improvement in my lifeNo need to squeeze any handles or apply any pressure at all. Just hold the tin and twist the handle. In one motion it automatically grips the tin, cuts, and moves forward. Every tin opener I've ever owned before this has had problems making a strong clamp, which only gets worse with time. Eventually no matter how hard you squeeze it's sliding off the rim every time. Not so with this design. The super-kim works in a way that's almost spectralAs it's a closed mechanism,I'd recommend putting a drop or two of mineral oil in the mechanism every so often to keep it free from rust etc.

What a great little opener of cans. The lowest price I could find on the web too.It leaves the edge of the can smooth as it crimps the cut edge flat against the inside of the tin, although the lid itself retains a sharp edge and has to be extracted from the can manually, which is easily achieved by pushing a finger on the edge of the lid so the opposite side peeks out from the top. All in all this seems to be a well made and cleverly designed tin opener which I am expecting years of untroubled use from.If you're fed up replacing cheaper can openers then I suggest you bite the bullet and fork out the extra few £ for the Nogent Super-Kim it is certainly not the dearest one out there either.

This is simply wonderful. My wife has nerve problems which makes her hands very weak and meant she always had to ask someone else to open tins for her. This little device seems to have an auto pilot to connect correctly to the tin every time, no slipping off and having to re-engage like a drunk trying to get their keys in the door. Once in place the comfortable winged handles are easy to turn which means my wife now has no issues opening tins at all, I have to drag her out of the kitchen to stop her opening them all! Even my 7 year old can open tins with ease using this. This opener will change your tin opening life, buy it.

I go through a lot of tin openers and I've tried all sorts from the cheapest bargain basement butterfly type to electric and they all break or stop working. So fed up with twisting the opener round and round as it just slips on the tin I thought I'd try this.It seems expensive compared to a 99p job but against the higher end openers it's not to bad.I have to say it's so simple it's brilliant, the best opener I've used by far. No need for batteries or handles that bend just clip it on an turn. It's also a lot smaller than normal ones so another thing in its favour, I recommend this to anyone needing a new tin opener.

Having purchased many can openers over the years, of varying quality and prices, I decided to give this a go based in he positive Amazon reviews. It may seem expensive for a less than conventional looking tin opener but I have to say I have been really impressed. Slightly odd to use at first due to the lack of a handle but you soon get used it it. Really easy to operate and does not struggle to cut through the metal like my previous can opener (and cost a lot less). The cutting blade appears to be really sharp but thankfully does not leave sharp edges once the lid of the tin has been removed,

Again - something that actually does what it says on the tin. I bought this, because being disabled, I needed a MANUAL tin opener, that works when the Power is out, and can be used "one-handed". Does NOT look like it's going to fall apart next week, either ! Well made !!This works a treat ! Pretty easy, as long as you take a moment to position it properly - which is NOT hard - then turn the "Crarnkin' Harnle" (!) - and, as if by magic, the tin turns round, neatly opened !Wonderful little device to keep in the kitchen drawer for when the power fails - just as you need to open a tin !!

I have bought over 10 tin openers over theyears, and none have them have worked, even the battery operated don't last long, butyou can tell that this one, will last you years, when usingit..Definitely the best tin openeron the market, with out a doubThank YouJ.Calveley.J.Calveleythis opener is definitely the best.. You cantell when using it that it will last for years.Only problem was I had to sharpen theblade with a small file. Took about fi'veminutes.
