About to accept defeat and go to the expense of contacting a plumber, I turned to Amazon in a last-ditch attempt to find something that would undo the fittings within my toilet cistern (I had a faulty valve that needed replacing but the fittings had 'welded' together over time, and due to the lack of space, I couldn't get a firm grip with my fingers to wrench them apart.) I tried all sorts of plumbers gadgets, but none of them would either fit, or provide a good enough grip without the risk of damaging the remaining (plastic) parts within the cistern. I must admit to being a little sceptical when the product arrived - at first glance,it looks rather flimsy because there doesn't seem to be a way to grip the rubber tightly once you've fitted it around whatever it is that you need to loosen.... However, within minutes (and it only took that long because there was limited space with my fingers getting in the way to fit the gizmo to the appropriate fitting), and without the need to use any force whatsoever, I had the fitting undone and was able to replace the necessary parts myself. A really useful addition to my toolbox!

..Quicker than calling the plumber and making them a brew.Sink in bathroom wasn't draining properly. I tried hands to release the chrome fittings to check the trap. Too tight. I didn't want to ruin with grips. This was the answer. Released all 3 fittings. Trap off. Shame it can't deal with the horrible gunk in the trap and all the way along the pipe, but you can't take stars off for that. Include a built in nose peg?Refitted the 3 screwed fittings. Plenty tight enough to avoid wobbly pipes and make a seal. No leaks. I doubt I'd want anything more robust than this, as it's not needed and would tighten things up more than needed - perfectly good grip and tension for my job.One of those tools you don't realise you need, but when you do made the task a 5 minute job rather than staffing, cursing and probably messing up the chrome finish.

I purchased this to enable me to remove the lamp cover from an oven light. The cover was close to the side and top of the oven so it was difficult to get any purchase on it and, despite using a solvent cleaner and pre-warming the oven, grease had obviously hardened into the screw threads and the cover just would not move. As soon as the strap wrench arrived I tried it on the cover and, within seconds, I had access to replace the bulb without difficulty. Since then I've used the wrench on jar lids and cross-threaded or stuck nuts - it's very versatile. The principle of the tool itself seems to be that it applies even torque to whatever it is being used on.It is of plastic construction but seems sturdy and the rubber strap provides plenty of grip.

I have adjustable thermostatic radiator valves in my house and two of them were stuck at zero. I could not turn them on with my fingers and I was afraid to use conventional tools - pliers, mole wrench, etc - because the tops look like plastic and they are dome-shaped. (See photo)I looked on the web for something suitable, and I found this on Amazon. I ordered it yesterday,it arrived this morning, and within ten minutes I had used it to free the valves.I am delighted with this versatile tool and I recommend it unhesitatingly. Lots of potential uses, including opening stuck jar tops. Good for folks who don't have a strong grip. Cheap gadget too. Perhaps every home could use one.

Purchased this to replace an original misplaced (most likely lent to a friend or colleague and its return overlooked!) some while ago.The Baby Boa has saved my day on numerous occasions alongside its larger (original release) brother so it’s replacement was a necessary essential. In fact I purchased 2 so as to offer the second to close friends of mine and provide them with a versatile gift which will get them out of many a hole!As for mine it was (other than colour) identical in design to the one I had misplaced and once again occupies its place in the tool draw ready for service and saving the day!

Got this for my Mum who struggles to open things and tighten things. Its brilliant. Makes life so much easier and can be easily adjusted to fit most sizes of jars and cartons. I have had a cheaper version ( not boa) in the past and I would recommend that you go for the real deal as it feels much more robust. There isnt a lot of difference in the price so its worth going for the Boa.Be careful when you are looking on Amazon as some of them are not clear as to whether they are the real deal. Great seller too. It arrived within a few days. Brilliant.

This product is a must-have, not simply for undoing tight jar lids - which it does highly effectively - but for anything requiring force without damage. The secret is simple; a rubber strap that works as a cantilever to generate upto 2000lbs of pressure!! I've used it to secure my shower head to the rising feed (threaded connection) and it did the job superbly without having to use a wrench and risking damaging the chrome finish. Invaluable tool/device with tons of uses. This one came with a free mini version for kitchen use. Bargain. Buy it!

my new rifle has a shouded barrel and I have been struggling to undo the crown nut for weeks but I couldn't stop the shroud from turning, No more I bought this rubber strap wrench I tightened it down onto the shroud inserted a pairof circlip pliers in the holes on the crown of the shroud and hey presto it was undone what a brilliant little tool and my nice new shiny rifle doesn't have a scratched barrel and now I can fit a silencer awesome this tool will be useful for dozens of applications best cheap tool I've ever bought

I brought this tool after a problem with my drill chuck sticking, in combination with another tool it solved my problem, so I was able to reuse that drill again. My first attempt with this strap was not successful, but the next time, make sure you are using it as instructed, so it provided the leverage, with the other tool, and solved the problem without any damage. Finally , this would make anyone a very useful gift.

I bought this to remove a polarising filter which I'd jammed onto my (rather expensive) lens. The length and precise shape of the rubber band can simply be tightened to accommodate so many different things which makes this a simple, clever tool everyone should have in the house.Perfect for getting my lens filter off and I'm positive I'll be glad of this many more times in the future.

This was perfect for a family member struggling to open jars and bottles. We had tried a few alternative devices but this ticks all the boxes and works well. We have successfully opened large jars and even small things like plastic coke bottles - it does the job. Unlike a few other similar wrenches, this seems pretty robust with the strap integrated into a slot in the handle.

I actually got this one for my sister after she got her beady eyes on mine, which I've had about 5 years now. It's a great boon for those whose manual dexterity is decreasing and it's not just for opening jars, it's also a good general tool in place of a heavy wrench for shifting nuts and bolts or piping connections. It's also good to use on round-top water taps.

Bought it for a specific job which the Baby Boa made short work of within seconds of me opening the packet - now I'm prowling about the house Boaing anything I can get my hands on. I was tempted by other products which were cheaper and/or came in twos but I'm very glad I went for this one - strong, versatile, easy to use and addictive fun for all the family.

The baby boa was recommended to me by my sister who suffers from arthritis In her hands, she swears by it,so I bought one from Amazon as it was the best vice for value, as I too have difficulty opening screw top bottles, jars etc. it has proved to be brilliant and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Amazon offers the best price btw.

This is one of those gadgets that you might live without for ever only because you have no idea how useful it really is. All those tops, covers, bathroom fittings, plastic chromed items that are so easy to ruin by going at them with a pair of pliers just open/move/release without a hitch with this gadget. Indespensible.
