This was delivered fast, before the estimated date. A fast delivery is very much appreciated. Thank you.I bought one of these to replace an older model which was had started to go wrong after many years of good service. The item looks almost exactly the same as the old one, but some cost saving corners have definitely been cut. There are some small things like for example the magnet that holds the tin lid is now much smaller, but the biggest difference is the grinding wheel on the back for sharpening knives, or should I say the lack of it. The grinding wheel has been removed and instead there is a piece of plastic in its place and you are meant to drag your knives across a stationary piece of plastic to sharpen them! Can you believe this? It would have been far far better to just say that this is now just a can opener and bottle opener, but they have kept up a pretense that it still has a knife sharpener also because it looks good on screen/paper but when it comes to actually sharpening your knives it does absolutely nothing. I have also purchased an electric knife sharpener separately but this is not convenient at all. I would have preferred to pay more and have all the features that were in the original. For can opening it is great. No problems so far. You can not just shove the can in any old how, there is a certain "knack" to it but when you are use to this then it is fine.I recommend this can opener as long as you do not need a knife sharpener too.Thank you.

I got this to help out with the tin opening as I must be getting old as things don't open so easily with hand tools... I also wanted to use the knife sharpener to sharpen up my knives, though this feature is a bit naff. The unit is white plastic, it was simple to figure out, plug and go. It does exactly what I needed it to, though that knife sharpener is probably going to take some getting used to.I am sure this tool will be used frequently, though that knife sharpener is so iffy - but it seems to work ok. Will do some more reviewing after getting used to it.I also got this from Warehouse Deals so I paid a bit less for this - if I paid much more I think I would go with 'three star' impression. However I got it for a bit more what I would have got a manual tin opener for - so in this light I give it 4 stars.I read in reviews that the magnet bit didn't work too well - I have not had this problem. I do see that there is a screw that that part attaches to and if that is loose, maybe that would cause the fault. also this item is a bit bigger than I expected - so it does take a little bit of space up. If you need a cheap electric tin opener with a 'knife sharpener' then have a look at this one. Not the best, certainly not the worst...

Bought this one as my old kenwood seen better days. I had my old for over 14yrs and never failed me so decided to get a new one from the same company, I chose this one mainly cause it featured also a knife sharpener. The product arrived on time but that's no surprise as amazon mostly gets it right. On arrival package was good everything seemed right although I could hear that a small plastic droke off and was moving about inside but it didn't hinder the devices functions in away. Overall it did everything OK it was easy to open can and the extra magnet to hold the lid in place is very handy. Only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is cause the knife sharpener does not work tried sharpening my knife for 10mins and nothing, also looking into the part that supposed to sharpen it seems like plastic no metal parts or stone part just plastic hence why it does not sharpen. Either they forgot to slot in or its just a gimmick. So if you want a knife sharpener look else where if you want bottle opener and can opener than this product is the one to get and considering the price you can go wrong really.

I am now aged 80 years and find it hard or impossible to open cans. Read the reviews on this product and guessed there would be a downside but "needs are must". Price excellent, delivery very fast. Product solid and stands on worktop ready for action. Fiddly steel blade that drops on top of the can but finally did a good job. Magnet failed to hold lid which dropped in the beans. After several days and several cans I got the hang of it. Trouble is, there are now different types of can lids, Some are deeper than others and the machine will not deal with those. But overall, as good as I expected and with time I will get used to it's small fallibilities.Well worth having and a small price to pay for quick can opening without fuss. The bottle opener works well, have not tried to use the knife sharpener which is just the old pull through type (non electric) but since most of my knives are stainless steel probably will not give as good an edge as old fashioned steel knives.fudjie

Whilstt I would never deter anyone from buying this (as I had my previous one for years and years) I decided to get a new one as I had some money to spend on a gift and gave my old one away. I order ed one from Amazon and was so excited to receive my new one. However the plug would not fit in the socket so I had to return it.I tried another big retailer for one but when I got it home this too would not plug in the socket. I have been unable to contact Kenwood but I do hope they get it right as I really really want another one of theirs - I gave my old one away before I knew the fault and now have to make do with another cheap brand which is not very good at all.Do hope Amazon manage to get this sorted with Kenwood as I cannot wait to get my Kenwood back in its original form.Having said that, Amazon were most helpful when I had this prioblem and were going to check their warehouse to see if they were all faulty.

Ooh l don't know If it's my age but all of a sudden the normal tin opener we always use stopped working for meMy hubby and sons have no problem. When l was making my chicken stew l tried to open a tin of carrots and ended up using a knife to prise up the tin lid. I thought this is really dangerous luckily my hubby was out in the garden he would have shouted at me as he is very much into his health and safety. So l ordered this electric tin opener.l am so glad l did it makes opening a tin a dream. I no longer have to battle with a manual opener. This new one even holds the lid using the magic magnet which is good. The only downside and it is a small one is positioning the tin.is a little fiddly.I told my hubby and sons to use the new one but they have declared it is for geriatric people l am 46 years the nerve of it.Anyway l highly reccomend this tin opener.

Bought this to replace a predecessor that had failed after many years of service. I have limited use of my hands but this means I can open cans by myself. There is a useful magnet that once you offer the can up to the device and press the lever down holds can in place, as its opened. I tend to stop the process a little before it gets to the end so the lid stays attatched for about half an inch to the tin, if you let it open fully the magnet in the lever keeps hold of the cut lid.I like the white version and although its a little heavy it weighs less than a kettle full of water but takes up little room on the worktop if you wanted to leave it out. If you have poor dexterity I would recommend this,if you can press a light switch (which I struggle with) or turn the channel on the remote control you will have the dexterity to use this.

I’ve always used a manual tin opener but after a few used they become stiff and you end up recycling them. My son has additional needs so we used a ton opener for one of the few things he can tolerate to eat so I was going through so many tin openers. I did the mum thing of deciding to treat myself to a more luxury tin opener but made the mistake of buying a battery powered manual style but the battery’s are not sting enough for the motor so it’s useless. This was £5 extra than the battery powered one so returned and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Will be useful for people with arthritis it other issues that could make hands weaker or with other disabilities. It comes with a built in bottle opener and knife sharpener as well. Doesn’t take up much room at all and opens cans in around 7 seconds. Glad I bought it.

I can highly recommend this product. I had the same make for years and never had any problems with it. Eventually it needed replacing and unfortunately I bought a cheaper version from the local supermarket. I didn't think you could go wrong with an electric can opener but it was difficult to use and hard work getting it to open any tins, the whole family found this challenging. Enough was enough and I turned to amazon and found the Kenwood Tin Opener. The kenwood was just like the one I had years ago, easy to use and works every time. All the family can use it with no problems. Would only buy a kenwood tin opener now, nothing else will do.Pleased the kenwood tin openers are still available.

Have had a Kenwood CO600 3-in-1 Can Opener for several years now and have had no problem either mechanically or functionality wise. Occasionally you have to jiggle and perhaps reposition the tin under the blade a bit to make proper contact with the cutter blade but then its fine and you'll soon have your tin opened.....and even oddly shaped and quite heavy ones at that! It is a sturdy little appliance, that does not slip around during the opening process, is pleasing to the eye, and looks as if it is both indestructible and capable of giving many years of reliable, useful and time-saving service. And all of this at a very reasonable value-for-money cost. Can't see how it can be bettered.

I used to have a one of these until a few years ago, but didn't replace it due to the increasing use of ring pulls on food cans. It had lasted around eight years. So, I've got by with handheld openers. Then Fray Bentos brought out vegetarian pies and the cans ate through two mid-priced can openers that claimed to be able to cut through a ship.Having got fed up of wasting money on can openers, I thought I'd give this another try. It's been tested on a number of tins, including might Fray Bentos pies. Smaller tins attached easily, but bigger tins will need a little support. The magnet will safely hold on to the lid of the tin. The magnet can then be removed for a gentle cleaning.

This is the second Kenwood 3-in-1 Can Opener I've had. The first lasted more than 7 years and performed well up until it's demise - due to constant use. This is probably the best electric can opener available at the moment - certainly for the price - and it opens all types of can faultlessly. I've also used the bottle opener occasionally, but never the knife sharpener. One small criticism. It is important to align the can to be opened with the mechanism correctly - otherwise frustration will ensue. Take a bit of time to read the instruction leaflet and practise aligning a can a few times. It's worth the effort as it's a very useful piece of kit to have in the kitchen.

Had this opener for a few months now. It works well but it can be a little difficult at times to get the tin in the correct position for opening. The magnet which is supposed to catch the tin lid sometimes fails to connect leaving the lid floating in your tin of soup etc. Build quality is good. It's now two years down the line for us with this product and I have decided to edit the review and change it to 5 stars. The problem with the magnet not catching the lid has stopped and the tin opener is still going strong. Would highly recommend it!Update, I have this 9 years now and still going strong. The plastic has yellowed considerably but is working perfectly.

Excellent value when compared to the current offering of hand held openers which will cost at least £6 and start failing after a few weeks. This works perfectly, and has been well engineered being easy to clean and solidly built. Although we didn't buy this for the knife sharpener it does work well, you draw the knife through one slot then the other, but if you're used to a traditional sharpening steel you might not appreciate that anything is happening...the knife gets sharp though! There's a bottle opener too. We're very pleased with this and it's great that we've found an alternative to those useless culinare magican openers.

After reading the reviews I was quite confident in making this purchase. It came really quickly and was cheaper than anywhere else. I must agree with some of the other reviewers in that at first it is a little tricky to get the position of the can right, but after the third tin of beans was opened (we were getting carried away watching the tin revovle!) it was no bother at all. The bottle opener was tried with several different bottles of beer and I can cofirm that it works very well (although I didn't after drinking the beers!!). I haven't tried the sharpener yet so can't comment.
