I have been a BIG Star Wars fan my entire life so I'm trying not to be biased with this review. This AT-ST is part of the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series. I have slowly been trying to collect the entire series and decided to add this unit right before Christmas. I just built this thing last week with my wife (yes, we are uber nerds hehe) and it took us about 2-3 hours to complete this AT-ST. I thought the instructions were easy to follow and pretty straight-forward. I have it displayed on my desk at home and it looks great. For anyone that is thinking about getting this for a child... this AT-ST is not meant to be played with, it is meant to be displayed. If you are looking to get this for a child so they can play with it after it has been completed, look somewhere else. The unit itself is somewhat wobbly and I can almost guarantee it will break if a child tries to play with it.PROS* The AT-ST is fairly big and detailed. The guns on the side of the head can rotate both clockwise and counter-clockwise. The barrel on the mini-gun also spins, which is pretty cool.* Looks great after it has been completed. Great addition to any LEGO Star Wars collection.CONS* I'm not sure why Amazon says it comes with a mini-figure in the description, but it doesn't. It would've been nice if it did come with one, maybe Chewy or an Ewok to mimic 'Return of the Jedi' when they took over this unit during the forest battle.CONCLUSION* If you are a LEGO or a Star Wars fan, I would highly recommend getting this. But if you are looking to get this for a child to play with, I would consider getting something else.

I'm writing my son's comments here. But first I'll mention that he is 11 yrs old and is a very skilled Lego engineer. Legos and Bionicles are his favorite toys. He can create amazing inventions with both of these sets including joints and connections I never would have thought of.His comments:"This set is very fragile. The slightest touch shatters the majority of it. It's only for the most skilled and careful Lego builders, but builders who enjoy collections instead of playing with creations. This set is nice to look at, but you can't play with it at all."Dad's comments again:This will be the first item I've ever returned to Amazon. More importantly though, this is the first Lego item I've ever purchased that didn't bring 100% joy to my son. My wife and I have always marveled at his concentration and his skills. He builds the sets according to the directions, then he elaborates on them to build even more imaginative creations. It's truly inspiring to see a "toy" like Lego challenge him and motivate him to go further with the next creation. I really thought this set would be a reward for him, now that he's older, more responsible, and fully capable of appreciating and building a set like this. But after watching him work though his frustrations, I realized that this fancier set was analogous to an expensive car for a middle aged guy with a hairpiece. That's not what I wanted for my son.

Lego continue their Ultimate Collector Series with the Imperial All Terrain Scout Transport. The model is a very accurate representation of the walker and the detailing across the whole kit is excellent. Like the UCS X-Wing and TIE Interceptor, this kit is actually scaled closest to the standard 3 ¾ inch Star Wars figures. The AT-ST has lots of features; the main twin blaster cannon on the chin can move up and down, the light blaster cannon on the left side of the head can rotate a full 360 degrees, the concussion grenade launcher on the right side of the head can rotate 360 degrees, the head can turn from side to side covering the front 70 degree arc, the front window plates move up and down, opening top hatch, the knee guards can move, the upper hull can lean forwards from the centre point, the primary upper leg joint can be set in two positions and the toes can move up and down - great for trampling on Ewok catapults. There is also a nice little tech spec stand to go with it.The kit comprises 1067 pieces and takes about 2 hours to build. It measures 40 cm tall, 22 cm across (at the feet) and is 25 cm long from chin gun barrel to aft hull. There are two decals to apply and the AT-ST is ready for action.A great kit and a must have for the discerning Star Wars Lego collector.

I bought this for my 9-year-old son who loves legos and is extremely good at them. He has put together numerous 1000+ lego sets on his own including the sandcrawler & general grevious. Of all his lego sets, this is the one that he has needed help. Its very difficult to understand how to get the sides into the pins. It took me days to figure out. Even when it is in correctly it falls apart easily. This is not a set you can play with or even touch as the whole thing just crumbles. However, it is very cool looking once built as a display piece and my son loves having it in his room.

Got it after only a couple of days when it was predicted 3-5. Made it in one evening, it will take you ages! Warning, it comes in old Lego packets (not numbered in order of construction) so takes a lot longer.Aged 14+ for a reason.Contains technic not just Lego which was good and comes with a Lego base sticker plaque.Best idea would be to keep it as a collectable- it looks awesome standing, it reeks of the power of the Empire!

Along with my two other pieces, this is a great compliment to the Empire. I wish the scale was a little more in line with the others (AT-AT) but that's being nit-picky.This took me about two days to put together (maybe 8-10 hours). I like to take my time and enjoy the detail. The model is TALL! Not so bad to move from one spot to another.

I've always been a LEGO lover at heart. The AT-ST is another fine LEGO set in the Star Wars line. It is more of a collectors item though, I'll warn you. If your buying this for your 8 year old son, don't. Not that it is fragile, but it is certainly not as durable as some of their sets.I have it up in my office displayed.

I am a little boy trapped in an adult body, at least that is how it seems when I have the chance to built Lego's. I love Lego's. I love Star Wars. Put the two together and there isn't anything to find fault with. Easy enough to build, but enough pieces to require a little time.

A great Lego Ultimate Collector Series starter. Easy to put together and looks great. Stays together as I've had it put together on display for 7 years. The detail is amazing and it's larger than you'd expect.

Although not my favorite Star Wars UCS build, this one is pretty fun. It has some really good detail too. If you are Lego Star Wars fan I definitely recommend adding this to your collection.

Good set for a UCS. Good price and building was fun and quick. I didn't like how the legs weren't as articulate as they appear to be. No minifigs either.
