This set includes a Bespin Guard minifigure, a Cloud Car made of Lego, an action-packed poster, plus a 78-page hard-backed book.I’m a bit confused as to why this set contains a Bespin Guard minifigure, rather than, say, a Cloud Car pilot? The latter would have made much more sense. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Cloud Car itself either, but that’s a personal preference. It resembles the Microfighters range, which just look weird to me. Why do our heroes sit on top of crafts they should be sitting in? Also, I had a lot of red bricks during my Lego playing heyday, and I’ve never quite got over my disdain for this quotidian block (even though the model doesn’t use any of these). The light-heartedposter rather makes a mockery of the noble sacrifice that took place on Scarif during Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It seems insensitive to the friends and families of Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, Chirrut Îmwe, Galen Erso, K-2SO and Bodhi Rook, to show stormtroopers cavorting on the beach exclaiming things such as, ‘Scarif-Fruit is my favourite’ and ‘Race you for that ice cream!’ How quickly people forget…You’ll need to carefully press along the perforated lines to pop out your bookmarks, which seem to me to be something of an afterthought. One is the Bespin Guard that comes with the set, the other is rather randomly Qi'ra in her Corellia guise from Solo: A Star Wars Story. The book has high-production values, with colour images throughout. It takes us all over the Star Wars galaxy, making stops at Naboo, Corellia, Scarif, Jakku and - of course - Bespin. There are plenty of story seeds and building inspirations. It’s fun, colourful and features the signature Lego irreverent take on the Star Wars universe.

This Build Your Own Adventure book is the second in the Star Wars line and is a decent value model, figure and book combination. It features a few loose stories, told through the usual excellent DK LEGO photography and some quite witty writing. The layout, design and feel of the book is really good. It's beautifully put together and a joy to read through.Being a Build Your Own Adventure book, the idea is that the various small models featured can be built by the reader using the LEGO bricks in their collection. This is a good concept but tricky to execute: a number of the models have details and certain part requirements which need a wide range of LEGO bricks, obviously including Star Wars sets and ranging right through to LEGO Technic parts.Of course, you can work with what you have and the argument goes that your imagination is a key component to having fun with LEGO, so the book can be used as more of a guide than a set of instructions. It does include the latter however, for the included Cloud Car model and its pilot. This is an interesting choice for such a book, as it's a vehicle which hasn't featured too much in the LEGO world. It has a design similar to the Microfighters range and looks OK when completed. The pilot wears an authentic but slightly dull Cloud City uniform and carries a small grey blaster. It's all fine but not as good as the Y-Wing and pilot featured in the previous LEGO Star Wars Build Your Own Adventure book. It's an entertaining and engaging read, with some nice model ideas. It'll stretch your building skills (and brick collection) and you get an exclusive, if slightly dull, Cloud Car. Pretty good value for the money and worth a look.

An interesting Lego project pack with a small kit, a hardback book, a poster and a couple of bookmarks. The poster is quite fun, the bookmarks are nothing special and to be honest the kit was rather ordinary. It is a Cloud City car but is just a kind of space ship although it does have blaster cannons and not especially Star Warsy particularly looking at the other options available which include a Gungan sub with a wavy tail. I would also have liked a more interesting Star Warsy figure rather that a normal lego men in a blue suit particularly as the book is peppered with star troopers and other distinctive characters. The 76 page book is a picture and story book and instruction book with Star Wars facts and figures throughout. It is interesting in that it guides the reader on how to construct certain types of models using all types of Lego bricks, being imaginative and creative rather than just following set instructions all the time. Be warned though it assumes that the reader already has a collection of lego as the kit provided is only small and does not contain all the bricks required, some of which are fairly unusual.Overall it is nice gift but to get the most out of it the recipient would need an existing Lego collection and probably some pocket money to go and by the bricks he/she hasn’t got.

My nine year old grandson loves his Lego and has quite a few sets already. This set has a Lego Star Wars car to make, a mini figure, bookmark and poster as well as a really good book with lots of ideas for models to make from your own Lego collection. It also gives you hints and tips on how to build better models and explains what all the different bricks are called and what they are used for when building with them. The rest of the book has model ideas with an idea for a story with each of them. At the end of the book is the instructions for building the model of the Cloud Car that’s included. A good fun set with lots of playability.

Our 8yr old absolutely loved this. From the first sight of the cover to diving into his regular Lego collection with the book's build suggestions. You get a little Cloud City car thing with the book but that's almost incidental (though the clear window on the cover that peeks into a pile of Lego blocks is a great level up), as the whole thing is about a fun story and inspiring kids to raid their existing Lego to build from both the book and their imaginations. He was super absorbed by this for days and goes back to this book rgularly.

This is a great book for reluctant readers who think they don’t like reading. There are plenty of things to do and look at with this collection of Lego and book. The stories are fun and short, so you don’t lose interest, the models are easy to make and are impressive once made.Lastly, it’s not ridiculously priced like some Lego can be, so makes a great gift for reluctant readers and Lego fans a like.

This was for our grandsons who between them have a formidable Lego collection.Whereas there are not a very large amount of bricks, the book itself will serve as a good inspiration for projects, spinning off from those shown within the book.Probably not a good starter set, but would be welcome as an accessory for a child with Lego as a hobby

This is a nice set, but is limited in what it can do. If I was wanting lego for play value, I think I'd just purchase a (bookless) set as you'd have more toy for your money.
