This book comes with a minifigure of U-3PO, who first appeared as a background character in the opening scenes of Star Wars aboard the Tantive IV. He swiftly gets separated from C-3PO and R2-D2 as the Empire make their attack. Whether you believe he is a double agent or not for the Empire will depend on your interest in the expanded universe as suggested by the radio series and collectable card games. Certainly, no reference is made in this book to his potentially duplicitous nature, though his cameos throughout this book consist of comic relief more than helpful advice. This is a ‘choose your path’ style book that promises more than 40 endings. You get to choose the era of Star Wars in which you wish to play. You can either hunt the Sith, fight the Empire or defeat the First Order. I’ve loved this style of books as a child, so I was excited to find out what it would be like adventuring in the Lego Star Wars universe. You get two choices each time. There are positive and negative outcomes to your adventures, though they all exhort the reader to ‘Go back and choose another path!’ regardless of whether you win or lose. This book manages to have its cake and eat it. On the one hand it offering the reader a ‘choose your own adventure’ style experience, while at the same time offering trivia and building inspiration about the Lego models you visit during your exploits. The photography and design is top notch throughout. The text is informative, humorous and entertaining. This book would make an excellent gift for the Star Wars Lego fan in your life, or why not treat yourself?

I used to love the 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books from my youth, and this LEGO Star Wars-themed interpretation is surprisingly complex and entertaining. It's a good sized book and has a good number of different paths your character can take through different stories. The design and artwork is of the high standard we have come to expect from DK's Star Wars output. The various LEGO vehicles and figures have been photographed superbly in various action scenes and the writing is a good standard. There are lots of little Star Wars 'facts' sprinkled liberally throughout and this makes each page a sizeable read.Complete one story and not only will you have hopefully enjoyed creating your own path but you will have learned something about Star Wars in the process. There is a small element of flogging LEGO's brand about the book, and this can come across a little cynically at times. But to balance this, there are also building suggestions included which don't focus on buying loads of Star Wars sets, so I think the right tone has been found overall. Also included is the exclusive minifigure of protocol droid U-3PO, who I believe only features in the book and no other Star Wars media. If you're in to collecting of such things this obviously makes the purchase attractive. But the book itself is worth the money and should provide a good few hours of entertainment. Highly recommended.

Son is into Lego Star Wars from time to time, and he enjoyed this book. It includes a droid mini figure, one neither of us had heard of. As usual, the positioning of free min figs in books of this kind mean half the thickness of the book is not taken up with pages. However, there is plenty to read on the actual pages. The reader is invited to select an adventure, and then, depending on which option you choose, you go to a particular page of the book where you face the consequences of your decisions. Some choices work out well, and you end up as a hero or heroine. For others though, you lose and basically, you have lost the galaxy to the dark side. Tut tut.I grew up with this kind of pick your own path adventure. This one offers around 40 different possible endings, so should keep your little Lego Star Wars fan busy for a while. Now I'm wondering whether there's a similar book for the potential Darth Vader / Sidious to follow their dreams of power...

We've got a few of these chunky lego books that come with a minifugure and they're all absolutely brilliant, my son spend hours pouring over the different pages admiring the sets or figures shown and reading up on all the trivia. They have kept him entertained on many a long trip or in the waiting room for dentist and doctors appointments. This book takes it up a notch even further. I used to love the adventure choose a path style books when I was young...i read a whole series called Lone Wolf which were really detailed and enthralling. This Is a more simplified version but adds some additional fun to an already packed full book.My son has been kept entertained for hours either just flicking through each page to devour the information or following the story lines and making a simple 50/50 choice as to where the story goes next.Really great book and 5 stars all the way.

This is a surprisingly lengthy book, which offers multiple combinations of story elements to produce a different tale each time - 40 different endings are on offer. My two boys (6 and 8) loved the concept and threw themselves into reading and re-reading to work out different endings. A few weeks on and they still pick it up reasonably frequently - the book has longevity in a way that a standard Star Wars book would not.The book is a mixture of engaging pictures and text in captions. The effect is that my children didn't really feel as though they were sitting down and "reading". The reading was incidental to the experience - i.e.their overall impression was that they were having an adventure but needed to read to find out what happened next. The U-3PO figure was also much appreciated - but, unusually, the book seems the be their favourite part of this purchase.

A perfect book for Star Wars fans which allows the reader to choose their own story through the book. Some great illustrations and very detailed knowledge. The book also comes with a Lego minifigure and I suspect that a lot of older Star Wars fans may purchase the book for just the figure but the book is certainly detailed and interesting enough even without the figure.

My son is a C-3PO fan, so the minifigure was the main reason for purchase. The book is interactive, with choices leading to subsequent pages. It's engaging for a few reads-through and suitable for a 6-7 year old. Not too much text, and each adventure is over in a reasonable time (before it becomes a wild Bantha chase).

A cute little mini figure inside the book and a story where you decide the next step. My 12 year old loved this and spent hours doing the story again and again.

My 7 year old son loves this, it’s the book he reads the most. Fun and easy to read with lots of options. Excellent! Plus the U3PO figure is an added bonus.

This is a good book, enjoyed by my 7 year old. The Lego theme has encouraged him to read it and the added bonus of the mini figure on the front is a winner.

Nice pics in a nice book. If I’m honest I got it for the minifig but still great.
