My Lego 76124 playset arrived this morning, and I've dived straight in, as the 'Marvel' sets are the ones that I enjoy build (and setting up for play and display) the most.First impressions are good, with the fresh (predominantly white) new 'Marvel Avengers' packaging. Strangely, given that the trailers have been rolling out (not in the cinemas at the time of writing), and the refreshed colours and 'team outfits are clearly a tie-in; there's no 'End Game', but that's just a minor detail. So what did I get? Well, there's four (4x) minifigures. Two 'heroes' with War-Machine and Ant-Man and two 'villians', with a couple of different Outriders (nice touch, that they're not exactly the same). Oh,and as well as the heroe's helmets, there's a spare 'hair' when you want to change the look. The main part of the build is of course the 'Hulk Buster / War-Machine' power-suit.If you're already built or own Lego 76031 from 'Age of Ultron' or 76104 from the more recent 'Infinity War' then the scale and complexity is about the same.Don't for a moment think that this is going to be as taxing / complex as the (somewhat full-on) 76105, which is pretty much the 'ultimate' build; but also be clear that this is aimed at a very different level and price point.Personally, I really like this size and complexity, as it's more engaging, achievable and playable for younger builders; not to mention more accessible and better value for money. I say that, as even though I tend to build things up, I encourage the kids (even big kids) tear things down and use their imagination. As for the details? Well, all the joints are nicely articulated, just like the previous 'Hulk Busters' and the key feature is the ability to pop a minifigure (War-Machine) into the bigger suit to pilot.Personally, I don't find the colour choices the most interesting or appealing, but can completely understand why this needs to tie-in with the 'look' of the 'End Game' movie. The really fun features are that this Hulk Buster comes with, not one, but two shoulder mounted weapons; with a pretty simple 'flick missile' on one side, but a (rather cool) 'gatling gun' stud-shooter on the other. It's not complicated, but it's really is good fun, and it's been well thought out, as there's plenty of spare single red studs to re-load with.Overall a great little set and one that'll offer good fun to kids of all ages. There's enough to make it stand out in any collection or even as a first piece, but it just may not be the first choice for anyone who's built / owned other Lego Hulk Busters in the past.

This is one in a series of Lego sets which tie in with the Marvel Avengers movies. While the 11-year-old nephew is fully conversant with the story, the characters and the history, I am not – on the basis of that expert opinion, I can report that this set is an approximate match for the suits of armour and weaponry in the latest movie. As a standalone Lego set, it is rated as 7+ and this seems reasonable in terms of difficulty. Older or more experienced builders might find this a bit too quick and easy to assemble but for casual Lego users in the 7-12 years group there is a solid 30 minutes of building time before commencing whatever violent play they choose to engage in. As well as the big War Machine toy, there are four minifigures – two Outriders each with a different set of attached equipment, a little Ant-Man and a little War Machine. The minifigures are really small at about 4.5cm high and of course are much less mechanically complex than the big figure. On the plus side they are robust and portable, so they can be taken on car trips – the noisy, violent battles continue unabated. While the price of the set seems quite high I think there is a lot of potential for play here, and Lego offers a very comprehensive service for replacement of missing or damaged parts as well as online information and advice. Unlike many other plastic toys which come fully assembled, Lego can of course be taken apart and reassembled, so there is more interactive and problem-solving play here. For the right child this is an engaging and accessible set which would brighten up a weekend or birthday.

Put LEGO and Marvel together and you've got a winning combination. This set is, I believe, based on the Marvel Avengers: Endgame film which is soon to come out. Despite not seeing the film yet we are loving playing with this set (see attached video where War Machine is pitched up against Iron Man in the ultimate "mine's bigger than yours" battle). The set is great. First it has plenty of minifigures (Ant-Man, War Machine and a couple of Outriders). Then the War Machine suit is great with it's fire-able weaponry. The LEGO firing mechanisms are much better than they used to be (I remember LEGO pirates and their cannons) and the studs can go flying. The shoulder weapon can fire 6 studs just like a machine gun, which is a cleverly made piece of gun. Of course with this weaponry there is a danger that you'll lose all the bullets, but War Machine carries spares (as in the video). Also with all this flying LEGO you might be worried about safety if it hits your child's eye but luckily the LEGO studs fired are quite light and unlikely to cause injury. The set also includes a small number of stickers which ideally would have been transfer printed onto the LEGO pieces (luckily the detail on the head of the War Machine suit is transfer printed though). But my kids don't are more than happy with it and have been playing with it a lot since getting it.

Lego have teamed up with a number of popular brands in recent years, with this set coming from the Marvel series, one of their most recent. Now, I'm generally a fan of Lego and this looked like a mini version of the very large Voltron that I'd built recently - so was keen to unpack the box and give it a go.First impression was that there were a reasonable number of pieces for where it was being pitched, with the addition of 4 quite interesting mini-figures a good differentiator from the Hulk buster set which is pretty similar otherwise. The Build itself is straightforward and well explained as you build the body, add the legs and the arms before finishing touches including guns that really fire the studs.Play-ability is also high here too, as there are a number of moving parts, the guns and the people to provide plenty of entertainment.Overall therefore, I think we've got ourselves a decent addition to this latest Lego Marvel series and an all round reasonable set. The pieces or the build might not be the most innovative, colourful or interesting but the play-ability and moving parts almost certainly make up for it.

We love lego around here. Got this for the 9 year old nephew, but i enjoy as does his father! This kit is a departure from the other lego kits we have got as its lego but it makes a usuable action figure. This normally the sort of figure you buy ready made so to get to make it first is awesome. The kit is the usual lego style, it comes in bags with a comprehensive guide. My nephew needed help with this one. Its a bit intricate and he just didnt have the patience to stick with the fiddly bits. This kit would not only be suitable for 7 year olds but im sure much older kids would enjoy assembling this,i was certainly v jealous that i didnt get my hands on it (i could have selfishly kept it for myself but us Uncles and Aunties dont do stuff like that!)This is the usual quality you'd expect from lego but with the fabulous addition of the marvel avengers universe. Id recommend this to any lego/marvel fan, its a fab kit. Younger kids will need help with assembly

This Marvel Avengers War Machine is a superb extension to this Lego range and is making a great collection.I watched my grandson, aged 9 spend an enjoyable time in assembling the different pieces by followingthe very accessible instructions. So user friendly!Out of the box the different component parts are in different staged bags thereby making constructionlogical and achievable. As mentioned on the website, Lego give you 4 Universe Marvel mini figures, War Machine, Ant Man andtwo Outriders. This is not only enjoyable but also instructive -not to mention inclusive for the family.Recommended.

You can judge a building based product by how quickly your child builds it, and whether they stop halfway. The answers were 1. immediately and 2. nope. The finished product is about the size you'd expect, a few inches tall, and it shoots stuff, what's not to like there? There's a lot of bespoke parts from what I can see which is a bit "un-lego" but I do realise that's the way things are moving now with the brand based products.Still no reason not to recommend it, so it gets two thumbs up from me.

A move on from Transformers toys, this one involves making it, so lengthens the play experience considerably. However, is a bit daunting, I had two boys aged eight and nine involved and they needed a bit of help.Good to have a moveable figure to play with, more chance of imaginative play afterwards. A great tie in model and bang up to date. Super Hero Ant-Man, War Machine, they are most appealing, well known to that age group and offer all-around participation and involvement.

Great set that includes two of the most underrated superheros in the franchise. The War Machine Buster itself is a very fun build and is very posable. Also, it looks very nice next to the hulkbuster from last year. Only bad point is that there is no elbow articulation. Also wish there was nanofigure antman and more accurate hair piece then it would be perfect

Bought as part of my sone Christmas gists, he’s absolutely marvel mad and loves anything marvel or Lego and has pointed this out previous when writing his list to Santa, as an added bonus it was on sale at time of purchase so we were able to buy a couple of othe things he had pointed out. Pleased with the quality and can’t wait to see his face at Christmas.

Gave this to my 12-year old nephew who went completely mad over it! The quality is very high as you would expect from LEGO. Their sets are always a bit overpriced but this particular one has 4 figurines and a decent amount of pieces to keep a 12-year old occupied for more than 20 minutes. As an avid LEGO fan, I think this toy was fantastic.

The building experience is perfect, it’s not too easy and not too hard. The play experience is also perfect and great for all ages. The look/style of this item works really well with any collection of any kind. I personally think that every penny is 100% worth it, if anybody has enough money to spend on this, buy it, you will not regret it.

I love the design of this mech. I usually don't like how Lego develop many of their mech, but this one is one of the few I like. Nice details to have this top shoulders plates that add a bit more bulky shape, but are slightly detached so you don't loose range of movement. The price is slightly high do to the fact is a franchise theme...

Brought this for my six year old grandson who absolutely loves this. He had a couple of other Lego sets which he found frustrating and someone else had to make them up for him due to some fiddly bits but he helped with this and was very pleased with the end product and that he could help more.

My son loved this set. He’s 9 and I had to help him quite a bit with assembly as it’s very fiddly in parts and quite a complicated design. It did take us quite a while to put together (so good to keep the kids occupied for an hour or two) and he’s loved playing with the finished result.
