I have not played with or built Lego since I was little, excluding the two sets that I bought, one of which was definitely from my childhood, the other which was vaguely familiar so could have been. I have no children yet but when I do, Lego will definitely be a big part of their childhood.Maybe I just wasn’t aware of it as a child, as I normally had my nose in a book, but Lego is everywhere and now (perhaps more than back then), it seems tied into every major franchise going. Harry Potter, Back To The Future, Ghostbusters, Simpsons, Star Wars, amongst others. Alongside the little generic sets, these go for some big bucks. I recently looked at the price of the Simpsons sets (yes, plural)and had to go lie down. This is a pretty neat set, as it’s essentially two sets in one, as it can be opened out above the carriage, to give an extra “room”. So effectively giving you more for your money. And a reasonable set of characters.I was initially scared of opening up, as I was expecting a lot of parts. There are three medium sized bags, with all the parts and helpfully labelled 1, 2 and 3. There are some individual bags included inside the main bags, but oddly enough, most of the figures are loose and scattered between the bags. There’s an 83 page colourful instruction manual, with a step by step guide through each part/stage. Which, for someone like me who doesn’t generally have the first clue of where to begin, is very helpful. Without the instruction manual for a lot of these sets, I’d be up the proverbial creek. There’s also a small sheet of stickers included, so be careful you don’t miss these in the box, as they are just chilling loose inside there. This is an excellent kit for the Harry Potter/Lego fan in your life and I look forward to seeing what they think of it. It’s a nice price as well, not too extreme, but not feeling like you’re not getting your money’s worth. So definitely worth getting.

This is the third set from the Lego Wizarding World 2019 releases that represents a scene from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It features four minifigures: Rubeus Hagrid, Madame Olympe Maxime (Beauxbaton headmistress), Fleur Delacour, and her younger sister Gabrielle Delacour. The carriage itself is quite stunning, with a beautiful colour scheme and exceptional design features, such as a folding side which converts the interior into two floors, creating a bedroom and dining area with enough room for all four minifigures, the two Abraxan horses which draw the carriage are also well designed, and feature poseable heads, legs, and wings. Interior accessories for the carriage include a table, two beds, a chest of draws, potion bottles, and a tea set. Other accessories include a storage chest, lanterns, batons for Hagrid to guide the carriage, and a bottle of single malt whiskey so he can feed the Abraxan horses. Set 75958 has 430 pieces, and is the only 2019 Lego Harry Potter set with a £44.99 price tag, making it a little expensive for its size, but fairly reasonable value for money nonetheless. Overall, a wonderful stand-alone item which doesn't require further purchases of Lego Harry Potter sets to expand its entertainment value, but fans or collectors will certainly want more after this excellent set.

Lego bricks are a timeless toy that will last for generations and are pretty much guaranteed to fit bricks from the past and future. The Lego from my childhood is played with today by my children. This set is a little complex and is targeted at 8+, but, the instructions are clear step by step pages and can be followed easily enough. The instructions are literally brick by brick. The set represents the Beauxbatons arrival at Hogwarts. The characters included are Hagrid, Olympe Maxime, Fleur and Gabrielle Delacour. The bricks for the carriage and winged palomino horses are very nicely done and there is a small sticker sleeve to add some additional detail to the carriage. The bricks are in 3 bags and as long as you follow the instructions then it is easy enough to build.Keep the instruction manual safe as without it you will need to go online for the guide. If you mix these bricks in with other sets, then you may really have a hard time finding what you need!Bottom line: It’s a good kit and will keep children occupied. It is an excellent way of developing the mind and will never go out of fashion. At the moment the kit is £44 which I think is expensive for what it is and isn’t good value for money.

A perfect present for children who love to build with Lego, and who love Harry Potter. This is pretty expensive but it's a lovely set, one of the many Harry Potter themed Lego sets, and it should keep them amused for hours. Our grandson is 8 years old and he will definitely be able to build this on his own, he's had lots of experience with Lego construction. I would think that for younger children they will need adult assistance. There are 430 pieces in the set, together with assembly instructions. So the first thing you need to do is sort the Lego pieces into groups according to the instructions, then put them together. Like all Lego, they snap into place easily. In this particular set you get a Harry Potter Beauxbatons’ Carriage which opens up and transforms into living spaces, two winged horses, four characters: Hagrid, Madame Maxime, Fleur and Gabrielle Delacour, and various accessories. We're actually saving this for him for Christmas, but I'm absolutely sure he's going to love it.

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and who doesn’t like Lego?!! I was so excited to build this set, even more so than my eight year olds! You can follow the instruction booklet or download the Lego app and follow it on your phone or tablet. If I’m honest I wasn’t sure what the point of the app was until o got frustrated with finding each bit, so I gave my kids the booklet and they found the bits I needed and I then built it using the app.It was easy to follow the steps and by opening one bag at a time it was a lot easier to find the bits needed. I did go wrong a few times but it was easy enough to go back and fix whatever mistake I made.I have absolutely no idea how Lego go about designing sets like this, they are so complex but it all comes together really well, especially with a set like this where parts move and open up. The design really is impressive. We had a lot of fun building this set and now I need to pick a place to display it.

Although the carriage only appears briefly in the film Goblet Of Fire it is a pretty iconic image and when I saw this kit I really had to have it. I was not disappointed at all when I started to build, it is quite intricate and fiddly but I really enjoyed every second of this build. There is a really clever use of colour on the bricks and the included decal sheet just helps to lift the overall look.Even better the side of the carriage lifts up and clips open to create a playset over two levels. The included minifigures of Fleur and her sister fit well and can be enclosed in the carriage when the sides are closed.Lots of play value with this one and it looks the part if you just want to add it to a display. The horses are only partially articulated but they can be posed enough to make them look like they are landing or taking off.Number Of Pieces: 430Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.10Build Time: 1.5 Hours

We are big fans of both Lego and of Harry Potter, so we were excited as a family to collect the latest wave of HP Lego. We have all the recent sets now and I think this set is a favourite for me. It was a more complex build than I was expecting and took longer than I imagined, it is far more intricate than the Hagrid's hut set for example. It says age 8 up on the box but my 8 year old would probably have struggled with aspects of the build. Once built it has some nice features with good play value. I love the way the side of the carriage opens up and instantly extends the inside to 2 storeys. It has a cute little set of drawers too, which is a nice detail. The outside of the carriage is elegant and detailed. This set exceeded my expectations, unlike some of the other sets which appeared more interesting on the box than they were in reality.

This is a LEGO play set, themed after the iconic Goblet of Fire movie scene. It contains a range of min figure characters as well as enough pieces to build the flying carriage as pictured on the packaging. Some supervision for smaller children would be recommended, but as with all LEGO - since it is a standardised building set, if children are familiar with how to use it then they will be able to pick up and play here. Some of the movie tie in sets can be so specific that it is tricky to make things that aren't in the provided instructions - but there are plenty of general pieces here so it can be easily incorporated with other sets in the range.

Not perhaps the most famous scene of the Harry Potter books or films, but for those who are fans of the Goblet of Fire this is a lovely set. Promotional photos suggest that this set might be marketed primarily at girls (the girls of Beauxbatons tend to take centre stage in the films), but as with most lego this should appeal to a wide range of children. The carriage if the main feature here. It opens up in a really nice way to reveal, amongst other things, a tea set and chest of drawers. You also get a nice Hagrid figure, as well as Olympe Maxime and two pupils. There are two Palomino horses that pull the carriage.

This is a great set. It has the usual quality you would expect from Lego, with he added bonus of being Harry Potter themed. This set, depicting the carriage arrival is beautifully presented. The box contains three bags, with excellent instructions (over 8 pages). The whole building process was great fun for my 11 year old, and as the instructions were so well thought out there were very few errors made and each error was easily rectified. The set, one built, is astounding. With plenty of movable parts and some great characters this looks fantastic. The whole thing took just over a couple of hours to complete.

Fantastic Lego set from the Goblet of Fire film. As with the majority of Lego sets for children, patience and supervision is required. The set includes the carriage which is a good size. It stands at 13cm in height. Also provided are 2 winged horses, 4 character pieces (Hagrid, Madame Maxime and Gabrielle & Fleur Delacour) and some accessories for the tea room. The carriage opens up to reveal the tea room inside which fits the characters and also has another little room on top. It's a fun set that is sure to spark imagination.

I buy all of the Harry Potter sets indiscriminately because I am a huge fan of the books. This one was unexpectedly charming. I love the blue coloring and the Beauxbatons uniforms! There are much better play features than expected - the second floor gives a great sleeping area for figures, as well as a little tea party scene. Yule Ball Hagrid figure pairs nicely with the clocktower, and I like to have Yule Ball Hermione arrive at Hogwarts in this beautiful carriage. Lots of fun possibilities to create Goblet of Fire scenes!

This is a great set! The minifigures are exceptionally well done -- I love Hagrid's design and Fleur's duel molded legs in particular. The carriage is very detailed with some interesting upside building in the interior. It's a very dense set in the sense that there's a lot going on in a very small space. Price is a bit high for the piece count, but I think that's okay given the number of specialty pieces in the set (e.g. the horse wings). The stickers are bit of a bummer, but they're acceptable in this context.

This was a welcome distraction after the first two weeks of UK lockdown. Ordered easily, however it wasn’t clear on the website what the opening times for Sainsbury based Argos stores. May have now been amended but if not, please make it clearer.Easy for my daughter to build and enjoyed doing so. Larger then I was expecting. Only gripe is the price; I’m aware the retail price is somewhat dictated to Sainsbury’s by Lego themselves but maybe £5 cheaper would have been better.
