I have just sat down with my 7 year old and built this together with him. He was given it for his birthday, having recently got into Harry Potter in a big way.He already loved lego, cars and trains, so what a combination! Recommended age on the box is from 8 years old, but he coped well with a little help. I made sure that the stickers went on straight. He loves the little doors and hinged flaps that keep the cases and small parts. My fingers are a bit too big to cope with that.The build quality is excellent and the finished product looks very robust. My son is thrilled with it. He has put it away for now in a special box in his room so that it keeps clean and dust free,

My 9 year old son received this for Christmas, it took him and my 12 year old daughter the afternoon to assemble. There is great attention to detail and its really sturdy too. It goes perfectly with the Hogwarts castle he got as well, got Ron in this set! which you don't get with Hogwarts set itself strangely. It was real fun to build and the instructions are well set out. The car has opening doors which are sturdy to get the characters in and out, and the roof lifts off the carriage of the train so as to play with the characters. Great own its own, but much better if you have other sets such as Hogwarts too for them to create storylines with.

My 10 year old daughter bought this with her birthday money, it arrived today only 3 days after me placing my order (fantastic service!) and she has spent all afternoon building it and wanted to write her own review:-"It is absolutely brilliant and every carriage is very secure, which makes it easy to pull without it falling apart. I like how it is based on different films, the Weasly's car is based on 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' and Luna Lovegood in this set is based on 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix'. I think this lego set is crammed with detail and I can't wait to play with it!"

I don't feel that the box protected this Lego product very well, as there was a few dents and one side of the box was a bit battered, but maybe that's just me being too fussy.I have not built it yet, but all the pieces look amazing as does Luna, Ron, Ginny, Draco and harry. A lot of detail has gone into making them look like the real character and very cute!!It might only have 2 'carriages' / 'trailers' but it also includes the famous blue ford Anglia seen in the 2nd movie so it's definitely worth the money you spend as it will probably increase it's price in a few years.

It's been years since I last build something out of Lego bricks! I received this set as a Christmas gift - despite the fact that I am 23 years old... and I very much enjoyed putting everything together. :)The instructions were easy to follow and there's definitely some attention to detail. The set comes with five Lego figures (Harry, Luna, Draco, Ron and Ginny) and they're quite adorkable. It took me about 2 hours to put the entire thing together.I'm sure it's a fun toy for children - and it also makes a nice display item for adult fans of Harry Potter.

8 year old grandson-a Lego fiend-showed me this on the Lego website. Hint, hint! Amazon gave the best deal I could find. He was so excited and it was voted one of his best Christmas presents. He seemed to build it in about 20 minutes [ perhaps a bit longer ] but it has a place in the complex layout on his bedroom floor. Like all the other Lego in his collection once the craze for Hogwarts has passed he will use all the pieces to create some other fanciful piece.

This took just 2 days to arrive after ordering. A excellent quick service. Somewhat fiddly to build, patience just being the order of the day. Very good clear instructions. I would think younger children would need some help but that is all part of the fun. Good for children (which I am not) or excellent as a collecters item for the older (which I am) person. Would recommend to anyone. Just need to convince myself now I have the space for the full castle!

my 8 year old loves the Hogwarts train he built it all on his own I just passed him the parts he needed for each step and he followed the instructions with ease, we put all the different individual bags of lego into seperate tubs to avoid loosing some of the small pieces which seems to help instead of the being all over the table, and to avoid being frustrated .

An expensive product, but lots of pieces. Takes a while to set up. Once complete, there are very few moving parts - I was expecting the doors and windows to open so you could actually put the mini characters inside the train. Comes with the mini characters as shown on the front of the box, and the car.

Fantastic train ... bought for my son's 9th birthday .... only problem is that he and the three year old are now fighting about who gets to play with it. Typical lego product - good quality, spares included and full instructions. Extremely quick delivery and cheaper here than on other websites.

I bought this for my sons 9th birthday, he absolutely loves it. Was easy for him to assemble, he spent time carefully piecing it together and was really pleased once it was finished. He has other lego pieces and has fun playing with the train alongside his other lego vehicles.

I purchased this item from Amazon for a christmas present for my son (age 8) and it definately was worth it! He absolutely loves it and spent ages making it up. I would say that anyone under 8 might find it a bit difficult to do (unless their some kind of "wizard" at lego!).

I bought this present for my 4 year old son but I probably had more fun than him putting it together. Very easy to follow instructions and well thought out packaging made the construction process a joy rather than a chore.

The Kids (& Myself) are going to love this present on Christmas day and the beauty with Lego is that you never get tired playing with it. Harry Potter is of course the hot item of the moment so its ideal.

This Harry Potter lego train arrived as stated before Christmas despite the bad weather i was well impressed. My son is well pleased with his present up to legos usual great standard
