I remember when my sister and I were little and we used to do concerts with our Lego, but of course nothing as glamorous as this. With a guitar, drum kit and keyboard to build this has a light gantry, spotlights, and speakers all built on and around the main stage. This is quite complex beneath the stage to build but of course with Lego the instructions are always clear so your child shouldn’t need too much help, although they may need a hand pushing pieces on to the axles. With a revolving chamber for your main singer to come out of, either side of the stage has pieces that pivot around with her, so you go from a more plain stage backing to something more colourful as the scene changes and the spotlights come into view along with the singer. All this is controlled by the turn of a knob which is connected to the workings under the stage. You can alter the configuration of the stage here as well because the pieces are modular in design, so you can clip one out and replace it with another if you so desire. You get two figures with this, Livi and Andrea, but if you have other Friends sets then you can add more figures to this set, in theory giving you two singers and three instrumentalists in all, if you have enough figures. There are two little stands for singers to stand on at the front, and these are connected by cogs underneath the stage, so if you turn one the other will also turn along with it.There are a couple of fabric type skirts with this and hooks at the back of the stage if you want to hang these up, and you do get little microphones for the figures as well, and on top of that there are stickers to be placed. This will take a while for your child to build, especially the machinery for under the stage, but this should give a lot of pleasure to your child as they play with this.I must admit that this set is a good idea, and for a change you have something here for girls that should give them a grasp of mechanics, and stage and set designing. We were already looking at buying the studio in this range which no doubt will be a definite purchase now. This is well thought out, sturdy in design and due to the complexities of the stage mechanics quite educational, making this a great present.

After grumping about the price of Lego over the last few years ("when I was a kid this was a cheap toy"), I've simply accepted that Lego (along with cinema tickets!) is now premium priced entertainment rather than a pocket money treat. And once I let my wallet roll with the punches I could recognise how amazing these sets are. And this is no different.Lego friends were devised by Lego (or so I'm led to understand) to create more packs which appeal to girls. It worked. I have 4 daughters and they all love the stuff (but one of my girls prefers much prefers the Star Wars sets). This set is part of the Pop Star range and is one of the mid-range sets. As with all Lego,it can be used with any other sets - whether it be Harry Potter or the generic build sets. This set stands out because it's primarily purple and black, and like with most Lego Friends sets, it comes with Lego Friends figures - Andrea and purple-haired popstar Livi. The model musical instruments it comes with are unique too and great to add to any collection. This is actually a great set, it's not too difficult to construct but it also isn't too simple, it requires concentration and starts to take shape quickly. Once made it becomes a brilliant playset, the play value of this toy is excellent. For a start, you have the initial construction, but if your child builds this only the once and then wants to keep it together to display, what they end up with is an excellent set to put on their shelf and they can also get it down to play with and combine with any other sets they have. If they have any other in the range then the colours all match and they compliment each other well.In a nutshell: A fantastic Lego playset which forms part of a quite unique looking range. It's quite sizable and as I said above - it has amazing play value - from building it to playing with it, this is a toy which will give hours of play and not something your child will lose interest in quickly.

This Lego 'stage show' has been another well received set. Given its intended age range of 7-12 my 5 year old found this a little more challenging in the construction phase and needed quite a bit more help with several more fiddly bits to construction than we have previously encountered. However, that meant I got to build more so I was quite pleased. I remain unsure about lego sets for boys or girls but I also accept Lego know their market and these sets in the 'Friends' range appear very popular indeed. We have a large number of them now and my daughters love them. The set, once built, allowed for imaginations to run wild with various figures taking their turn on the stage! This leads neatly to one of my slight criticisms of the set in that Lego could easily provide 4 figures rather than 2 - for me, this would be more generous and reasonable. It is a slight criticism all the same. Overall though I do feel this set feels a little out of place with the others in the range which are town based - even the ranch feels better placed within the context of the sets we have. This, I know, has several elements (there is even a Tour Bus!) but it did feel a touch out of place. Perhaps this is just me but overall, seeing my children play with it and the other sets they have let me know one thing for sure. Lego remains an addictive toy that allows wholesome fun for hours and hours. It may not be quite the same when I were young - you got a box of bricks and made it up as you went along - but in many ways that remains - it is just more directed with a build already pre-planned you still 'play' and the outcomes are all unknown. For that lego, I salute you. You still got it!

It's difficult to review Lego. I mean, what do you say? Lego is such a well known and loved brand, if not 'institution', that most of what needs to be said is already known. It fits together with a precision normally reserved for NASA projects and is generally so well thought out and manufactured that you'd think NASA and Lego shared design and production teams. Lego Friends, I'm glad to say, is no exception and refreshingly aimed, at last, at girls! Not that Lego is an exclusively male product, but there are hardly any sets produced just for girls. At last, with Friends, Lego is beginning to fill this gap.So what about this set? I will leave this part to a young we can call "Daisy",as in fact that is her name.In daisy's words..."I love it!""I love Livi, the stage, the revolving entrance bit and I love all her accessorise and outfits and her friend Andrea. They even have an electric guitar, keyboard and drum kit! It's great for acting out stage shows."It's really easy to put together as the pieces all connect well but challenging enough to be interesting! The special pink and purple bricks are great too, because I'll know if my brother has nicked any to make things with!""I would recommend it to all the friends I have!!"So that was a resounding thumbs up from Daisy then. Apparently it even has the added benefit of not being little brother friendly. Not that it doesn't work in exactly the same awesome way as any other Lego kit, but the pink and purple bricks stand out when "borrowed" to use with Lego Star Wars kits!

This set is one of the larger models in the new Lego Friends pop star theme, depicting the stage on which singer Livi is giving a performance. It's a pretty impressive recreation of a modern music concert too, full of the clever and effective little details that are Lego's trademark. Livi appears before her audience from behind a revolving blue curved screen; there's a small handle to the side of the set which turns Livi's platform plus the four large neon displays that surround the stage in unison, enabling her to make a spectacular entrance. The stage area itself is split into three catwalks, connected to the main part by pegs so they can be repositioned as desired. The central area is lined by coloured 'lights'while the two side areas house Livi's backing group, with keyboards to one side and drums to the other. The set comes Livi herself plus one regular Friend character, Andrea; it's a slight pity there isn't a third isn't included so the band could be complete straight out of the box.The set is suitable for about ages 8 or above I'd say; some adult assistance may be required, particularly for building and connecting the lever system beneath the stage which turns the platform and displays. It's all very colourful and looks the part although I must admit, considering it's one of the more expensive sets, there didn't seem a lot more to it than, say, the Dressing Room set, which is ten pounds cheaper. However, there's no question that my daughter is thrilled with it, so I suppose that makes it worth the asking price.

When the Lego Friends series of Lego originally was released, I was lucky enough to see some of the first kits through a research panel on an online forum - the outcome was that as with all Lego kits they were fantastic kits, however why the pastel colours? Lego is unisex and does not need to be sugary pink and purple to attract girls to play with it. The debate has continued and I think that Lego have listened to the consumers. This Lego Friends kit is, dare I say it, more gothic! Blacks, pinks, blues and yellows make up the kit and it is a much nicer colour palette. The actual model will appeal to girls, but I think that it will also appeal to boys too.Lego have released a number of Pop Star Lego Friends Kits and so this can be added to with other kits. This kit is one of the more expensive kits from this range but there is quite a bit for children to construct and will keep them amused for a number of hours. There are some tricky bits in the construction of this kit, but as with all Lego instruction booklets, there are fantastic step by step instructions which children age 8+ will be able to follow with little or no help from others. This would be a great gift to give to children aged 8+ that they will love to build and love to play with for many hours.I received this product through the Amazon Vine Programme in return for an honest review.

The Livi and Andrea pop star show stage is a great addition to the lego friends theme. It comes with the whole stage, lights, gantry and speakers, plus guitar, drum kit and keyboard - all in bright, girlie colours. Plus Livi and Andrea.Great Points:^^ Perfect for acting out stage shows. Considering there are so many of these shows on telly nowadays I can see why this will be very popular.^^ I think it's very empowering play for girls interesting in singing and dancing. It builds confidence during play and can also encourage a new acting or singing career - who knows?^^ It's quite complex to build, but the instructions are clear, which makes it something the builders have to actually think about.Plus it can become a mother/father daughter or even son, activity when an adult is also enlisted to help the build.Overall:Nothing to complain about. It's a cheerfully designed, colourful and exciting Lego pack, which is seriously more than just something to play with - there is so much more to "playing" than at first it may seem and this is a very empowering kit that can play a vital part in building confidence as well as building skills, team building skills, too! Hours of fun.

How Lego has changed. We have bought a few sets over the last couple of years for the grandchildren. Gone are the basic boxes from years ago containing lots of the same bricks in a box and your imagination. And now we have themed boxes for different ages like this one. This set is aimed at girls from about age 7 to 12. It contains shaped and colored bricks to build a stage set with 2 singers/performer figures. There is a drum set, keyboard, guitar, little movable podiums for the dances, stage light bricks, microphone its just like an XFactor set.My granddaughters loved building this up together and playing with it afterwards, kept them busy for a few hours and is a great addition to their Lego sets that they already own. This would make a lovely present and I highly recommend it for all Lego lovers.

Please note, this is not Lego Duplo Mickey Clubhouse but quite impressive, big box (over 400 pieces) of Lego Friends with Livi and Andrea mini-doll figures. The photos are correct but description of the item is wrong. My daughters were always trying to build a stage with Lego bricks so this set is just perfect for them... they won't have to improvise any more as this set contain everything they need to build proper stage with catwalk, screens, speakers, pop star reveal function, drums with drumsticks and keyboard. There are also 3 fabric skirts, microphone, and guitar included just to mention some of the special parts.Great set, will keep my girls occupied for hours during long summer evenings.

LEGO never ceases to surprise me. This Lego Friends modular set comes with the making of a pop star stage set and supplementary mini stages for additional performer figures. The various built components can swivel and turn, thanks to a simple yet imaginative system, controlled by a knob on the side of the set. With a drum set and keyboard to build too, and a lighting gantry (though no actual lights yet!), this really is a great addition to the Lego range - and I suggest, intended more for girls than boys The set is supplied with two figures, Livi and Andrea but there appear to be six in total, which can be added to the fun and imagination play for your child(ren).

Superb !! or awesome as my youngest daughter says , she really loves these wonderful Lego friends pop star sets , she plays for ages with them and its so easy to build , comes with two girl figures and instruments and all moving action stage , my daughter uses her iPod for music to make it look and sound like the Lego friends characters are really playing music in concert .construction was easy but a few bits needed my help , Lego can still be fun at my age ..fun factor is 10/10 and ease of construction 9/10 , perfect for any Lego friends fan !!

What a fantastic absorbing toy this is. Most Lego is gender neutral, but most of the mechanised Lego is aimed at boys, so how lovely to see Lego addressing this with Friends Pop Star Show Stage. The engineering is straightforward and allows the Show pod to rotate with the turn of a knob. With lighting pieces (these don't light up - Lego still needs the use of imagination!) there's plenty here to keep a Lego fan busy for ages. The Lego pieces can be used with your existing Lego. Great fun and powers the imagination nicely. Well done Lego!

This is a mid sized Lego box set containing 2 figures Livi and Andrea with some good additions of sparkly capes a microphone, gold coloured drumsticks and a guitar. The central column for your pop star swivels. You build the drum set and keyboard. It's very cleverly done and the dolls are a good size for play being a bit larger than the normal, blocky Lego figures. Perfect for imaginative play, fun to build - the instructions as ever are very clear and easy to follow. Lots of enjoyment building it.

This was a Christmas gift for my 5 year old daughter. As per the age range on the gift this was far too complicated for my daughter to build but I have to admit I had hours of fun building it for her. There are a lot of pieces to this set and a number of mechanisms that need to be built which bring movement to the stage. The instructions were simple to follow and all pieces were nicely packaged in coloured bags to ensure ease of construction. My daughter has had hours of fun with this set.

This is a really cute addition to the Lego family. It is a very colourful and imaginative collections based on a stage show for pop stars. It is a very "girly" collection and so will not suit everyone. Probably ideal for six to ten year olds and will give lots of fun for hours - especially in conjunction with other Lego.
