As you'd expect from Le Creuset, this is a solid item. The decanter itself is beautifully constructed from thick glass, with a very wide base to allow your wine to be exposed to maximum oxygen prior to pouring.But the real selling point of this decanter is the aerator, which allows the bottle to be inverted over the decanter and slowly (and dramatically) dispense into the decanter, all the while being aerated and oxygenated whilst running down the entire inside of the glassware. This process alone must reduce the breathing time needed of a good wine by a large proportion, but that's not all.Once decanted the wine is given maximum oxygenation owing to the wide base of the vessel,

This is fantastic, we now use it for every bottle of wine we have. The difference it makes to the wine is astonishing, We drink a lot of wine from Aldi, which is good anyway. But this effectively turns a good wine in to a fabulous one!It doesn't perform miracles though, so don't expect it to improve the really cheap stuff.Look for wines around the £5 mark, try it, and you would think you were spending twenty quid.Beware, you do drink more!!

Wow, what a gadget to show off to friends! The decanter looks great on its own and is made of nice thick glass that hopefully won't ever break! It's a lovely shape and allows maximum area for air exposure. But the aerator you pass the wine through is the attraction! It aerates the wine by cascading it down the outside of the decanter and this looks amazing!This is a must for anyone who likes their red wine.

I bought this as a present and was really pleased with it. The weight and thickness of the glass as well as the really beautiful shape made it a lovely thing to have at the table. A real quality item. Looks larger than it seems in the picture. The decanting of the wine was straightforward, the bottle easy to position in the decanter, and only taking a minute or so to decant. I know it will get used.

It really does the business in getting the best experience from your wine. The aerator device is a bit of a gimmick and not much use when decanting wine with heavy sediment.I had a previous version which was more elegant with quite thin glass which got broken when washing up. This version has much thicker glass which will stand up to my slightly ham-fisted washing up technique

This was nicely made and seems good value for the price. It was purchased as a birthday gift for my father, who is a man that appreciates the finer things in life and who is not averse to a drop of the old vino tinto.I have not tasted any wine from the decanter yet but I am aware that aerating many of the more basic red wines can improve their flavour.

Looks wonderful, very interesting to use and watch - we use it all the time (when drinking red wine). Had to send the first one back as there was a slight defect in the base, but another one turned up very quickly and was perfect.

the combinatioin of a wide bottomed decanter and an aerating stopper means that the wine is conditioned properly before drinking .. highly recommended. a much better arrangement than the stand alone aerator we had before

This decanter looks stylish and will suitably grace any dinner table. Watching the wine as it flows down the side of the glass is a real crowd pleaser - great fun. Anybody interested in entertaining should have one.

Bought 2 as gifts - both recipients happy (Yes they would have told me otherwise - they're family !). Works well and good visual effect when decanting wine. Great for anyone who likes red wine, socialising or both.

Good solid decanter, what makes this for me is the device to remove sediment and to help air the wine.Works well.I recommend buying the drying rack as otherwise it's a bit of a pain to clean and dry thoroughly.

well worth the money. Look incredible as you pour the wine in the fountain. You could taste the different.The only bad news about it, its you drink more wine!!

Such a simple design, so effective! Changes a everyday wine just by introducing air into something that [ sometimes] tastes completely different.
