Bought this 3/4" drive M18 splined tool so I could replace the rear wheel bearing on an Octavia.I deliberately ordered a 3/4" drive tool as the bearing needs to be tightened to a high torque (180Nm plus a further 180 degrees)When the tool arrived I was concerned to see that the splined end was drilled through the centre, to the full depth of the usable length of the splines, leaving a wall thickness of approx 3mm .This did not seem to be a good idea as taking away the metal from the centre was only ever going to reduce the strength of the tool, especially as high torque loads would have to be expected when using a 3/4" drive.Anyway,on first inserting the tool into the bolt head the chrome plating flaked and chipped off the spline faces leaving small sharp flakes of chrome in and around the work area, so these would need to be thoroughly cleaned out to prevent them getting into the bearing races with the potential for premature bearing wear if the flakes were left in the hub.Next came the tightening............ :-(To ensure that only a torsional load was applied to the tool and bolt I supported everything with a hydraulic jack and a block of wood as this makes it easier to adjust to correct height rather than using an axle stand or a block on its own to support the tools.180Nm of torque was then applied using a 1/2" drive torque wrench, with a 1/2" - 3/4" drive adaptor. No problems so far but then came the final tightening of a further 180 degrees after 180Nm was achieved. This is a lot of torque (blame VW for this) and that is why I had bought this 3/4 drive tool. So, I continued the tightening process and managed to get as far as 180Nm + 140 degrees when the tool sheared. And that's where we are, a £15.95 tool that is now only useful as a paperweight. This item will be returned for a full refund as I don't believe it was fit for purpose due to poor chrome coating and the inability to take sufficiently high torque loads that should be reasonably expected with a 3/4" drive tool.Unfortunately I cannot recommend this tool for use replacing the rear wheel bearings on VW group cars and as that is the sole reason I bought this I can only rate as 1 star as it didn't do the job it was bought for.On a positive note, the delivery was quick
