There are two things I'm going to guess anyone buying hex (Allen) keys is looking for in a set - strength and the ability to turn hex bolts without stripping the key heads. This set from Draper contains 30 keys ranging between 0.028 and 3/8 inches in Imperial and 0.7 and 10mm in metric, all housed in a tough plastic case, each key nicely having its own clearly marked position in the box. Of course, this marking is less helpful if you take out two similarly-sized keys and forget which went where, but it's certainly better than just throwing them all randomly into a box, like I normally do.As regards strength, the keys seem pretty good.A couple of the smallest ones were slightly bent when I first got them so I think it's obvious that they wouldn't be able to undo tight bolts; then again, with keys as small as these it's perhaps not surprising if the manufacturing process leaves some of them less straight than they should be.As regards the ability to turn hex bolts, I haven't used any of them to undo any particularly tough bolts so can't say how well any of them would fare, but they (the medium to large ones especially) seem capable enough. I think with a mass-manufactured set like this you have to take that into consideration and cut your cloth accordingly; as with any hex keys, finding the right size one for the job is key (pun intended) to not stripping the heads and a set like this at least gives you the best chance of picking the correct one.As with any mass-manufactured tools, you have to think about what you need them for and how you will use them, prior to taking the plunge. I don't think these are the cream of the crop by any means but they are still very good, especially if you see them for what I think they are - a nice, very complete set for the casual fixer.UPDATE: I recently used one of the smaller metric keys to undo an, admittedly very tight, hex bolt. The key twisted into a spiral shape, indicating quite clearly that the metal used isn't particularly strong. I did use some force to try and undo the nut, though, and this was no doubt a factor in the key twisting, but I would advise caution if you try to undo any small, tight bolts.

How often have you reached for a ring set of Allen Keys only to find that you've got a metric set of keys and an AF bolt or screw - or vice versa! Or if you've got the right set - it hasn't got the exact size you need. Or if you've got the size you can't use the long reach end because it's fixed to the ring?I'm sure we've all been there; the last time it happened to me, after ruining a slightly wrong sized key in a tough nut, I decided to invest in a decent set of Hex Keys. This set from Draper fitted the bill just right; a good selection of sizes with half (15) being metric and half being imperial AF (Across Flat). They are tough, being manufactured from chrome vanadium steel, and pretty good value at less than fifteen quid the set. They come in a tough plastic case so, unlike a ring set, you can use them individually and you can access both the long and short reach ends to get to awkward screw heads. Hex headed screws have been around for about a hundred years and are likely to be around a lot longer yet, so it's worth treating yourself to a reasonable set of keys! This set from Draper will do for most everyday jobs around the house and should last a good while. Five stars for the quality at the price.

I was a bit surprised when I received the delivery as the box set is much bigger than I expected. These are indeed long reach keys. Very good value. I needed two imperial sizes for an american guitar I own and I got this complete set for a couple of quid more than buying just the two online. Quality is yet to be determined but they look ok and the couple of times I,ve used them they,ve done the job. Its nice to not have to search for the right key again. I used to sell tools for a living and whilst its true with most tools that quality saves you money, with things like allen keys and screwdrivers its more important that you use the correct size ( eg not a 3mm key where you need a 1/8" )and seat it firmly in the recess before turning. For general purpose work around the house you cant go wrong with this set for a tenner.

Maybe not Snap-On quality but a perfectly good set of metric and Imperial Allen keys in a basic but strong plastic case. The keys are decently made and finished and of a very useful length. I didn't realise how many were in the set until I felt the weight. There is a lot of steel in this item. All sizes are clearly marked in the case.I got fed up with Allen keys on a ring because you can never tell which size they are (or which sizes are missing). A set on a ring will do for most purposes but a proper boxed set will never let you down because it has a lot of sizes and you know if anything is missing. For £10 a bargain.

I, like most people, rarely need to use an Allen Key, but for those jobs where I do need one it irritates me no end when I can't find any or worse when I find a ring full of them but never the size I need.Or lord forbid when you're sure you've the right size and it's metric instead of Imperial. For the price I bought 2 sets of these, one that lives in the house and one that lives in the garage. They have every size I could ever need and I've yet to lose any - the added bonus is that rather than the entire set living on a keyring, I only have to use the one I need without the rest getting in the way.

If you want to make sure you always have the right Allen key and wouls rather not rely on ikea to provide you with your tools then this should do the trick. Ranging from the absurdly large to the barely visible, this set comes packaged in a way that means you will get a box vastly bigger than the product leading you to wonder what you ordered. Excitement! If I had a complaint it would be that the teeny tiny ones are so small that getting them out feels like I'm going to break them due to the way they are fixed into the box. A little care should keep bendage to a minimum, however.

If you, like me, have a box of bolts harvested from various defunct machines, then a Hex Key set like this is vital. There's a key in this set to fit any bolt!If you, like me, have a toolbox where your Hex Keys should be (and aren't) then this set is brilliant because the box keeps them together. If you also, like me, also have various rings with empty spring holders where Hex Keys used to be, but you removed them for use and then lost them - look no further. These Draper Keys are well made and offered at a knock down price.

What an incredibly good value item!! I have been searching for a very, very long time for exactly such a piece of kit. Hex bolts seem to be quite popular with a lot of manufacturers, but the range of sizes used can really leave you all at sea. Then just to rub it in any American manufactured kit, such as my main wheelchair uses all old Imperial sizing. But with this set every base is covered. Fantastic. And all for a tenner - wow!!

A little bit larger and heavier than I was expecting, but that's not a massively bad thing! Any key you're likely to ever need is here, and they're all firm and solid; cast in high-quality metal, as opposed to pot metal like cheap brands. The case is solid and clicks shut firmly. Even being bounced around, the Allen keys stay in place, unlike similar cases for similar tool sets.

There is a piece of cardboard inside the case which stops the keys from coming loose, and I have (on at least one occasion) accidentally dropped the case on the floor - scattering all the keys over several meters. The smallest ones are very difficult to spot - I would strongly recommend taping the box closed to avoid many unnecessary minutes spent on your hands and knees!

the product itself is good, the case has very weak clips to close it and therefore broke as soon as it arrived. Could have returned it, although for the price it wasn't worth returning the item. The key set itself is ok quality and suitable for the occasional use it will get. If you are looking for a key set to last, I would suggest looking at something a little better.

This seems to be a very good set, with a large variety of sizes in both imperial and metric, there's probably some i will never use (but you never say never) for one day there may be the need. The plastic case seems sturdy and holds them in place well. Perfect set for the workshop/shed or van but are a bit heavyweight to carry around in a tool bag.

This comprensive set of metric and imperal hex keys arrived very well packeged and on time. I have had no problems with the plastic case or keys falling out as some previous reviewers have reported. I am very satisfied with my purchase and yes sure you can buy more expensive sets but for normal DIY usage they are more than satusfactory.

A very well made selection of Allen/Hex keys covering many different sizes. I come across items requiring Allen keys more than I'd originally thought and it now seems I have one for any job. Draper seem to be a decent enough make and these don't prove otherwise. The sensibly laid out storage case is also good.

A great array of keys, only used a few of the small ones but they work well and the longish shaft helps you get a bit of torque. I think you'd have to be careful how much you applied when using the very small ones, but overall for the price, array of keys and sturdy case these are real value for the money.
