If you need a small socket in a tight space, this is probably as good as it gets. The biggest socket is 13mm, so you won't be using this set on 'normal' jobs on the car etc. This set is small enough to carry somewhere on a motorbike, if you have the space for it. Push button to attach the sockets is secure in use and they won't fit UNLESS you push the button. Some people think they don't fit at all due to the push button fixing and expect the sockets to just push on, but this is normal in their bigger sets as well. A well made set overall and really a small version of their bigger sets, so the quality is very good I find.I highly recommend this set if you need small sockets (up to 13mm)for a restricted working space, or don't need the leverage of their bigger sets. Don't be fooled by the picture and the price though, this is a good SMALL sized set, NOT a full size one. Some people see the picture, see the price and assume it is a full sized set, it isn't as the drive size is only 1/4" not 3/8" or 1/2".Update: Recently used this set to mount a 55" TV on the wall of a friends house. The socket set proved ideal for not only putting the wall bracket together, but also for setting the forward leaning viewing angle plus horizontal level of the TV, thanks too the small size of the tool and the restricted space behind the TV and inside the wall bracket. A bigger socket tool like the 3/8" version would have struggled to do the same job as easily.

I already have a larger Bahco ½ drive socket set and have been impressed with the quality. I've been on the lookout for a compact ¼ drive set for a while. I have a set, bought inexpensively many years ago, and over time I've found it very useful to the point where for anything other than where some serious grunt is required, its been my 'go to' kit for all those little jobs that seem to crop up frequently. However, my old set is sadly on its last legs. The ratchet action is dodgy and some of the sockets are well worn. So, when it came to replacing it, this little Bahco set seemed ideal. It's very compact, but well made. It's the detail that impresses. For example, the tools are contained within a cut out that's made of high density foam, rather than some cheaper sets that have blown moulded plastic that reminds you of the inside of a chocolate box, and very quickly cracks and deforms. The box itself is sturdy and closes with a reassuring 'click'. The ratchet has a positive action and a padded, comfortable handle (as opposed to the machine turned knurling on my old set). The sockets are hexagonal, as opposed to multi pointed and are a snug fit on the bolt heads heads.I'm sure there are more expensive, 'professional' kits out there, but for what I need this represents and good balance of quality at an reasonable price point.

Decent set and not bad value at the £17 odd quid I paid but on second thought I should have probably purchased the combined 1/4 & 3/8 set which is typically on sale for around £30 as it likely represents better value as it can cope with more situations and isn't as limited. My main gripe (missed because of the lack of product description and my bad eyesight) are that although the set is small and perfectly formed it excluded some items which probably should have been included as if you are purchasing a small tool kit like this it likely to be carried to fix small emergencies while away. Some of the omissions I found strange namely included that there are no flat head screwdriver bits where asthere are 2 Philips screwdriver bits and that there is only a 5&6mm hex bit where as 4mm will often be required. The biggest socket in the set is 13mm although the 7cm ratchet handle probably couldn't crank anything bigger.Note that small Bahco hand tools such as this are now made in China although you wouldn't know as the quality is great so don't buy under the impression that you are buying Swedish. There is actually enough space in the set to add a 4mm hex and two flat head screwdriver bits (as per my modifications in the photo).

This is a great little quality kit for diy or professional mechanic, it was ideal for working on a stihl blower which had a small blocked carb enabling strip clean jets and rebuild without any problem , there is a good selection of sockets and bits and is supplied in a nice neat little orange box , it lacks a couple of flat head bits but that is just nit picking as they are easily sourced and will easily fit into a couple of sockets in the box to keep together as a kit . Nice compact good quality little 1/4 set poss ideal for motorbikes , boats , lawnmowers , really any small machinery it's a must for even a Technion that has to work on the smaller things in life but needs the strength in the tool to do the job ,I have 4 Bahco sockets sets now this 1/4 set , a bigger 1/4 set , 3/8 set , and a 1/2 set , all are excellent sets for the right application from 4x4s to more delicate equipment and I'm very pleased with the quality of Bahco , and would not like to be without them . My son is a qualified mechanic and is always borrowing them they do the job . .If you are look for a small light compact strong purpose 1/4 set that will not take up to much room this could be the one for you , it is for me , hope this helps you .

A lovely little set for £19.99. It possibly originates from China as it isn’t the “0ld bahco quality”. Saying that, it does have the bahco name on and their quality control are probably keeping an eye on them. It all has a satin finish and looks nice enough. It’s not like some of the rubbish you receive off eBay so I would recommend buying it. It’s as good a quality as some of the dearer ones I’ve handled and far better than the cheaper draper models etc. I only took a chance on it so I could get at some bolts on my Ariston RD80 record deck ( my normal set was too big to fit though the adjustment holes). Now I have it I’m sure I can find plenty other jobs it’s suitable for. It’s nice and compact and doesn’t take up loads of space. The box seems sturdy enough to protect it in a tool box/bag. Personally I think it’s a bit better and cheaper than the Bosch version. If I’d handled it before I bought it I would’ve paid a bit more (£5) for it so that says something I suppose. I have a fair few old bahco tools along with some newer ones and the difference in quality is noticeable. Overall I’d recommend it for now! But only time will tell about how long lasting it will be!Read full review...

I've had the Bahco SL25 socket set for a while now and have only just got round to writing a review, One of the good things about this is that i work in heavy industry in the steel industry, so it's definitely been put through its paces.I will begin by saying that i am very impressed with the durability of the bacho socket set, I've had it in the rain, heavy metal dusty enviroment, greasy environments and in hot envirnments and it has never let me down yet and best of all theres not even a spec of rust on it like i have had with some other brands after they have been exposed to the harsh environments present in heavy industry. The Bahco SL25 socket set stays firmly in my pocket and is ideal to whip out to a lot of jobs, its lightweight and includes many of the smaller socket sizes that i need during tasks such as motor maintenance and older electrical contactor maintenance on cranes.Aside from being a little discoloured on the handle grip, the bacho socket set is still performing as good as when i first got it so come the day it finally breaks, if that comes before i retire, i will be buying another. I honestly can't recommend it enough!

This is a good quality little socket set.Stated sizes of 16 x 8.5 x 3 cm are accurate. Small enough to fit in a good size pocket or tool pouch. All the components are held firmly in place in the foam inside the box.The button on the ratchet head has to be depressed to attach or release the sockets or extension bar.Extension bar is the "wobbly" type, giving a bit more room for manoeuvre in tight spaces. The bit adapter has a very firm grip on any bits inserted. The rubber grip on the ratchet makes it comfortable to use and less chance of losing grip.Sockets, extension bar and adapter are all stamped with Bahco name. The Bahco branding is in raised letters on the black hard plastic section of the ratchet handle. No Bahco branding on the bits.Sizes on the sockets are easy to read.Case is easy to open and close, without opening easily on its own, and seems fairly robust. There is enough room in the case to fit a 1/4 inch sliding T bar to save the ratchet with tougher nuts or bolts.I have found the set to be solid, reliable and very capable so far with no problems to report.

Beautifully made mini socket set that is worth more than the price paid. Machining and finish are first rate. The ratchet is a joy to use with good weight and balance. The ratchet mechanism is smooth and fine at approx 6 degrees / 60 step. Really like the handle too; comfortable and grippy. It's a small ratchet that feels substantial in the hand. The high density foam insert supports (and labels) everything well while allowing easy removal of individual parts. The screwdriver bits are held in segments of three within a further holder; I find these easy to pop out unlike some sets where you need pliers just to remove a bit!Regarding comments about the lid obscuring part of the set,I just tilted it all the way back and sat it on a flat surface. The lid then supports the tray at an angle toward you, with everything accessible.Going to order more sets as gifts, and another one for myself to place in my RC kit box.Being so impressed with Bahco, I have already ordered their SL25L and reversible ratchet spanners.I can unreservedly recommend the SL25.

I ordered this with the intention of replacing a car wing as i dont own socket set. Firstly the feel it of the ratchet feels well built got some good weight to it and the ratchet mechanism feels like a quality product that wont fall apart on the first use.I read a few people mention the "wobbly end bit" this was designed on purpose!!!!! To give you some play and a bit of forgiveness when reaching bolts the actual link is not gonna move or fall off its sturdy. My biggest gripe is the poorly designed box getting the extension bar is a pain you need to use a small screw driver to get it even after cutting some foam out it is still a chore to get out.The box lid wants to close when its on a table so you have to hold the lid with one finger to stop it closing on you, hold the base with your thumb the use your other had to pull a bit out. Its not the end of the world but it is more involved than taking a bit out should be.All in all i like it just the box sucks.

I am a time served experienced motor vehicle engineer and would say this is a quality product, the ratchet feels excellent quality with a quick release button both to secure and release the sockets and bar extention, the teeth in the ratchet are positive and engage with only minor movement of the ratchet, the ratchet is also easy to get into tight or awkward spaces and doesn't slip on the teeth, the ratchet is also very small and works similar to a palm ratchet so is really handy . The extension bar is of the wobbler type so you get a little movement on the socket in case you cannot get a straight access to a component for tightening etc very handy in awkward spaces.Sockets and screwdriver bits also quality all rapped up in a handy little case tha you can fi into your pocket - very pleased with this purchase. Going to use this for all the small jobs on my car (usually use snap on 3/8 drive) and will definately use and will be ideal for repairing my bike.

Really neat little socket set that comes in a great little case. The ratchet handle is slightly smaller than I was expecting, bit don't think it will cause any issues - still easy to use and will give you enough leverage for all the jobs that a little kit like this is intended for.The selection of bits is a bit off in books - would rather have more hex or pozidrive heads, but not the end of the world as I've got plenty of others in the toolbox (this kit comes with 6 Torx bits, 2 Phillips (ph2) bits, and 5 and 6mm hex bits). The little mechanism on the ratchet handle for retaining the sockets is really neat, although could probably have done with a little note saying how it worked,as many people have noted being stumped on how to get the sockets to attach to start with! The extension bar will be useful too, and nicely designed to allow some slight misalignment if space constrains what angle you can have it at.Overall great little set.

When this arrived I was rather surprised that the box was so small (I should have read the description more carefully).. At first I thought it was going to be too small to be any use but boy, was I wrong! For months I have been wrestling with a little mechanical problem using a cheap and nasty set to regularly re-tighten a loose bolt. With the Bahco, despite its slim (almost delicate looking) ratchet I was able to give it plenty of welly and the bolt is now properly tight and I'm pretty sure it'll stay that way. The very compact size is actually something of a bonus allowing me to get into tight spaces others couldn't access and won't take up too much space in the boot of my old sportscar.I guess it's no replacement for a full-size mechanics set but for me it hits the spot at under £18 delivered. As an aside, it was quickly sent and being such a small package, it even went through the letterbox!

Had this set for a long time now, been used in all weathers and really abused yet it has never let me down. The most extreme use was removing the hubs on my 4x4 in the dark in the snow at -8C. I had water in my vacuum pipes and had to put on my new manual locking hubs. Had to really push these hard to remove the long allen bolts on my hubs, all my weight on them to cack the seals, expected the worst yet it worked perfecly for all 16 bolts. Should have used my 3/8 or 1/2 inch set but didn't have one at the time, borrowed by non returner.. :(I can recomend this for professional use and heavy DIY use, not just on cars too. Fantastic ratchet and sockets,I spray the ratchet with 3in1 oil now and then and that's all I have done to look after the head, never opened it up, never had to. It is a really strong small set with no flaws. If it ever breaks then it is getting replaced with the exact same set.

A really well-made product. The Sockets are machined to good tolerances, and certainly, hold up to some abuse. They're kept securely in place in the storage case, which has clear marking for quickly finding the correct size. The ratchet handle is a perfect size, striking the balance between being compact, and still being able to get a good 4 finger grip on it. The rubberised coating allows for a really secure grip. Sockets stay attached, requiring a button on the back to be pressed in order for them to be removed.Unlike many tools I've purchased, the case is really substantial, and well made - certainly made to last/survive a rough life.My only complaint is there is no marking either side of thelever to indicate which direction the ratchet is engaged - but this is a very minor gripe!

I didn't buy these from Amazon, but I've had this set now for several years now. I'm a commercial heating engineer and my set is used almost every day. I have to say I can recommend these enough, the case although plastic is very tough, I've dropped it several times and all that happens is the lit pops off and the contents spill on the floor. Just pop the lid back onto the hinge and no worries. For a 1/4 inch drive it's amazingly robust and sturd The socket are a good fit, so.e I've had in the past are a little sloppy but these are fine, the index on the ratchet is fine enough to use in tight spaces. The ratchet has handled me "leaning" on it to undo 13mm bolts absolutely fine. The kit is a nice size to fit in the tool box or even a coat pocket fine. Cheap and reliable what more can I say.
