This tool , I bought for one reason only, to fit the waste connection on my wash basin. I have a pedestal basin where the nut on the waste is about 75% enclosed, and could not be reached by conventional spanners, due to the proximity of water pipes etc. I needed to change the waste fitting, rather urgently, so purchased this tool. It made the job extremely simple. With the trap removed by hand, the tool easily fitted over the nut, and with the tommy bar (enclosed), it was child's play to remove and replace the waste fitting. For this task, the tool is brilliant. Thoroughly recommended for anyone with a similar problem. Well worth the money I paid, simply for the time it saved, also allowing me to retain my temper and patience.

Our bathroom sink is mounted on a pedestal that affords significantly restricted access to the hexagonal nut on the sink waste. Without this tool, which is a perfect fit for the nut, I would have needed to remove the sink from the wall and pedestal to get sufficient leverage to remove and fit a replacement sink waste. I may never need to use it again but it paid for itself on this task alone. The tool was dispatched and received quickly and, although it is not clear from the product description, does include a tommy bar to use with the box spanner.

As per the title , its a solid / hefty box spanner which I bought to take out the thermostat in my shower , however for your money you only get the actual spanner , not the Tommy bar to get twist the spanner. Not the end of the world , just used a screwdriver i had near by, however to be fair they should reflect that in the picture as other listings for similar products do.End of the day though - it did the job it was bought for and is reassuringly solid so I imagine will last me for many years to come. Hope this is helpful !

OK so no one should ever get excited about a box spanner. That is until you have brought 3 different box spanners to do a particular job, and broken all 3. Then comes along this box spanner and suddenly problems are over. it is wonderfully robust and only cost 1 or 2 pounds more than the cheaper ones that broke. I feel my tool box is now complete.

Yes, as stated by another reviewer the finish was a little rough but a few seconds with a file solved that problem. Also as stated by others, the only way to remove or tighten a basin waste when the basin is installed (and too close to the wall to allow use of other spanners), yet they don't even mention this in the ad! Wish I'd found it sooner!

Great tool, did the job perfectly. It does mean I now have to change the taps for the entire house because I was "so good" at replacing the bathroom taps and the rest of the house doesn't match the new taps... so there was a downside to buying a decent tool. Perhaps you need a disclaimer saying it will cause more work around the home, lol.

Now comes with the cross/tommy bar as shown (it did not originally), perfect for changing shower thermostat valve when no other tool worked. Really sturdy and if you have prime i.e. free postage it is a great price too. I'm sure it'll outlive me especially as 23mm is an odd size. Perfect.

Does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin, does what it says on the tin.

Fits those awkward sized old fashioned monkey metal checknuts, which a standard 27mm box spanner slips off. Decent length on this spanner as well, so getting an adjustable on the bottom part for leverage is a doddle, just don't get carried away and crack the basin!

Used this to remove an old bather mixer and replace it with eurocube Grohe mixer.Grohe mixer had a 30mm nut and the old mixer had a 32mm nut. Made such light work of replacing the taps.Excellent build quality and the perfect length for my needs.

Replaced my plastic back nuts with brass ones on my basin only to find the plastics were a 27mm head and the brass ones 24mm. Didn't fancy an unwieldy basin wrench as room is limited. This was ideal and the bar that came with it was heavy duty.

Great tool for the domestic taps 24mm x 26mm spot on for these size tap nuts (no need to dog the nuts up tight) little common sense, otherwise you will (crush) or over tighten things just be cool, its good choice for the money.

Almost perfect for removing a heating element from a coffee machine ( Conti ) .The product info doesn't state that this also comes with a tommy bar which I did wonder about .Pretty chunky bit of kit and well made, cheers.

This tool is ideal for the hex nut on basin drains with restricted access. The 46mm end fitted the old nut perfectly. The 50mm end was a little tight for the new nut, but OK after I removed the burrs with a file.

Good quality, comes with tommy bar, great for removing basin waste and one of those tool's you need once in a blue moon. But when you do, it's worth its weight in gold and also great delivery.
