Firstly, I think some of the other reviewers are missing the point with their 1 star reviews - yes the outside goes quickly (which the dog obviously loves) but the inside is so tough it barely takes any damage! Our dog usually chews any toy to nothing in a couple of hours max, but has had the rubbery shell for almost 6 months now and has barely scratched the surface! Not even one of the spikes has come off!I didn't even buy this on amazon but thought it was so good I owed the manufacturer a positive review. If (and it seems like a big if at this point!) I ever needed to buy another one I would do so gladly :)

My dog's face lights up when he sees this toy, its one of the only dog toys we've had that has been able to stand the test of time! the softer parts can far easily rip/tear etc and get torn by the muts, but the bulk of this toy which is the shell rubber is fantastic,Because the toy is so large (WE BOUGHT LARGE MODEL) our German Shepard X's cant quite get their full jaw round the shell to cause significant damage, so it keeps them entertained for hours.

I have had several of these toys and they are loved by my 4 yr old collie. Yes the fabric skin will, depending on how rough it's played with, come away. However the rubbery sqeaker is still a great toy. I think that if your dog is tough on their toys then it could be destroyed very quickly. My collie will loose the skin in about a month or so but gets as much fun from the body and she hasn't destroyed one of these yet.

My staffie loves this you and uses it as a bat for his ball! The material does come off quickly but the actual toy is pretty sturdy and robust. This is his 3rd one but he still has the other 2 but just half of each one but he still happily chews them and uses them as a bat, don't ask he's just hilarious when he's doing it.

The only reason for 4 start and not 5 is because it's too big for my chihuahuas to play with. It's a fabulous toy and wish they'd do a smaller version. It has a great squeak which my dog goes crazy for. She can bit the head and feet but sadly the body is just too big for her tiny mouth.

Our young pup LOVES this toy ...However, although I have given this product 5 stars, I DO NOTE that some reviewers said that their pet were able to dismantle the toy and thought it was dangerous ... so probably NOT suitable for a larger dog or a cockatoo.

I have a Jack who destroys most toys on sight, initially this was no different, the head and feet were ‘de-stuffed’ in minutes but a week on and so far the main body and the more importantly the squeak have eluded her, worth it for that alone.

This is the 2nd turtle toy, our boy loves it. The 1st one lasted a couple of years. He soon rips off the external cover (couple of weeks) but the plastic internal turtle he loves, carries it everywhere. We have a newfoundland.

Great toys dog loves them , but a note to the seller STOP using Royal Mail for delivery they are shocking . I’m reviewing this and have yet to see it as it’s 2 days late (Royal Mail ??)

One of our dog's favourite toys. Sometimes the flippers tear and he managed to remove the skin from the shell on our last one after a few months, but still great. Giant Schnauzer.

I can see how some dogs could rip this apart quite quickly. My elderly rescues quite enjoyed playing with it and enjoy the different textures especially the shell .

My Cockapoo loves the turtle, she is only a small cockapoo so this size is great for her! Very durable and gets washed in the washing machine regularly!

Can’t go wrong with Kong toys and this is no exception. My Border Collie absolutely loves it and it has stayed intact with some very rigorous shaking.
