This has been the best purchase of any of our puppy's goodies by far. It is lightweight and has been the perfect training frisbee for our Cockapoo who started using it at the age of 3 months old... and caught the frisbee bug ever since. We,be trained her to retrieve and drop the frisbee at our feet, which took some work, but we got there in the end. She loves letting new people throw it for her and revels in confusing them when she decides to keep hold of it for a little longer. Whoever you are, for what ever reason you have wandered onto our driveway (be it Postie, delivery guy or Jehova Witness) Marly is insistent that everyone takes a go at throwing the frisbee for her.The simple, and comparatively small, red frisbee is a marvel in the park when we go on our walks. It folds in half nicely for it to go in your pocket or bag so you don't lose track of it on the walk home. The frisbee comes into its own, as with all frisbee, when we take the pup to the beach. It gets to the point where we have to limit her frisbee time otherwise she'd exhaust herself (and she does frequently). She'd just keeps going and going and going.I read before I purchased this Kong frisbee that it was cheap and plastic and wouldn't last long. All I can say is that there are zero big marks on its surface and Marly doesn't really tend to sit and nibble it - she's more interested in finding her next throwing assistance. You may notice my review is only for 4 star as the product is so worth a 5 star. I have sadly had to deduct one star as our first (lasted 9 months) frisbee was lost in the North Sea of the North Norfolk coast on Saturdy. Despite it being designed to float, it didn't stay above the waterline longer than a few seconds before dipping below. A search ensued, accompanied by our puppy, but sadly we had to let it go. Luckily the new one we ordered is identical and I'm looking for a walk to the beach to play with this one.

My dog is a boarder collie, labrador mix and is in no way an aggressive dog. However, every frisbee we purchased would last about one use before being completely destroyed. By the end of a single play session the frisbee would be heavily chewed, have several holes in it, and be practically unusable. After trying a long list of cheap, easily replaceable frisbees, some designed specifically for dogs and others simply thicker ones for humans, I eventually gave in and bought this frisbee. I found it to be significantly cheaper and more affordable here on amazon versus in a pet store, where the price jumps to around $15.I have had the frisbee for close to 2 months now, have used it on multiple occations, and it currently still shows no wear or tear from frequent use. Now I assume like any other chew toy, that if you give this to your pet alone without supervision that he could tear it to pieces. If anyone anywhere is looking for an indestructible toy; it cannot be found. As chew toys eventually get ripped to shreds so would a frisbee left in the hands of a dog that chews. However, I have found that this frisbee holds up more than adequately. It still gets decent distance as a "floppy" frisbee. It seems to have hard edges to help retain it's shape while thrown rather than wobbling like some soft frisbees might. It has become a little sunbleached from being left outside, but is otherwise in the same condition I bought it in after many uses.Don't expect this frisbee to be indestructible. However, with normal frisbee use, I believe it will survive just about any dog. A note of advice... rather than playing tug-a-war with this kong, which may not survive a vigorous tugging, blow in the dog's nose. This often will cause them to release what is in their mouth. It seems to work with my dog who doesn't like to let go.

Honestly folks, if ever a purchase demanded 100 stars this is the one. Quite frankly this is the greatest thing I have ever bought. Nothing I own is so perfectly designed, well made, and competitively priced. I want to kiss the person who designed it and feed their cats while they're on holiday. My daughter's Dalmatians were put on this earth with a purpose. This purpose is to stress test to destruction every dog toy, dog bed, dog coat, harness and lead, every human shoe, jumper, coat, sock, sofa, stair gate, item of garden furniture, every tree, every blade of grass and every other dog with which they come into contact. The average life span of any toy is an hour. This is still going strong three months after I bought it for them. When I say still going strong I mean it hasn't got a dent in it. Seriously. They bite it, they chew it, they play tug with it and they cannot land a glove on it. It is also a perfectly designed frisbee flying through the air with the greatest of ease. When it rains, which is always, and everything is muddy, which is always, the ting can be rinsed in a puddle, folded into a small bag and it will pop open ready for the next savage and ultimately futile assault. If this was a car I'd drive it off a cliff relaxed in the knowledge no harm would come to me. If it was a woman I'd marry it. Not that it would have me because it would be the most beautiful, the most desirable woman on earth.I'm not one to gush over a simple dog toy, well, OK so I am, and um, yes well, get one you won't be disappointed.

There seems to be some confusion between two different models in this review section. There is a cheaper version, also red but with KONG logos in a circle around the name. People don't seem to like this one and a fellow posted a video showing one torn up. The better version is large red rubber with the word KONG followed by a logo imprint. This is the one to buy. After my Border Collie went through $100 worth of Frisbees, I was beginning to feel hopeless, I am thankful we found this KONG. It is great. It is apparently indestructible. It still looks new after two months! My Border Collie has destroyed 2 golf Frisbee disks. Shredded them. Destroyed to regular Frisbees - one in two throws. She's not trying to hurt the frisbees. It's her rear molars. Ingeniously designed like scissors. The glow in the dark Frisbee - that was a mistake. But this large red rubber KONG Frisbee is the best. It throws just like any other Frisbee but you have to support the back with a finger just before launching it, otherwise it will sag and wobble. It is possible to get nearly the distance of a plastic Frisbee, especially in wind. So this is hands-down the best dog Frisbee. Another great dog Frisbee is the Jaws. It is super tough but a little harder for a dog to catch or pick up. When I place them sise-by-side, she ALWAYS chooses the KONG. So take it from a dog, the best Frisbee is the large red rubber Kong with the logo right after the "G".

If don't understand the hate on this. I have a 95lb Shepard and have been using this HARD for two months now. My first day i got it i tested the throw and just said "wow! I have to restrict myself or ill toss it not just out of my 270 foot deep wooded back yard but maybe over the neighbors too. It's heavy and flexible so all it takes is a lot of spin and the g forces can really really make it fly. I also am a fitness freak so i usr my dogs favorite tys like this as a workout tug, with him hanging on i lift him half off the ground to do shoulder shrugs, one arm at a time to do bicep curls, laying flat him pulling i can do resistance curls. All this time not a single tear or hole.(In the past we've used deflated basketballs and literally torn them to shreds). The key i think is my dog will not play with his toys on his own as lame chew toys, he always has a fresh goliath bone if he wants to chew so i think that's where people's problems are. I already ordered two more for gifts to someone with a 110lb Rottweiler and a 65lb lab, both love it too but I'm confused why a pack of 2 is more expensive then 2 singles. Anyways my "pup" has always loved frisbee but his problem is flipping it over/picking up standard frisbee and would dig at them and tear them up with his nails. This one flexes so he picks it up easy. Fantastic product!

Absolutely Amazing! He plays with it from dawn to dusk -chewing, tugging, retrieving. It doesn't get old to him. Best of all, its soft on his teeth, so no damage there! :D Since chewing through the last several rope toys, I have been using it to play tug of war with him and its held up incredibly well -no teeth marks, punctures, rips, or being stretched out. Because of this its great as a training tool -redirecting attention while on walks, as a reward for following commands, playing scent/brain games with, etc. and folds nicely into his backpack when we're finished. Its comfortable in your hand, easy to throw, and travels relatively straight and far (roughly 75+ feet when not doing a light toss). After purchasing I thought I might have needed to buy the Extreme version, but agree with other reviewers that this one feels much stronger and tougher than the material of the black ones. After weeks of heavy, near-continual use there are no signs of wear. It washes up nicely with a little water (after being buried or flung through mud), and has most certainly lasted longer than his last (hard plastic) Frisbee. He is a medium/heavy chewer, making wood chips out of a good number of logs since we've gotten him, but this I expect to have in his toy box a good long time. I highly recommend!

We have a belgian malinois who loves to chew up hard plastic toys, and destroys them in a few minutes. Not this toy! When we used the cheap plastic frisbees, they would have holes all over them after just a few retrieves. After reading a lot of the reviews, I decided to get the Kong flyer. It was well worth the price, a lot less expensive then the big name pet stores. The first time I threw it, it was a little sloppy and clumsy because it is heavier than plastic, but after a day or two, I was able to throw it just like the lighter frisbees with no problem. We have used it for about 3 months now and there are NO holes in it! After we are done playing, I take the frisbee and put it away.Sometimes before I take it away, she lays down with it and starts to gnaw on it (For maybe a minute, while I get distracted by my kids), but still, No holes! Anyway, I would definetly recommend this to anyone with a dog. By the way, since it is heavier, she doesn't always catch it like she caught the lighter frisbees, but she still loves to play with it, and I like that since it is heavier, it doesn't fly as fast as the lighter ones, and over the neighbors walls! I still recommend it!1 year later: Still love it, no holes, works great.

LOVE this frisbee! My Irish Setter loves to chase frisbees but also chews them on returning ... the "regular" frisbees have lasted no more than two play sessions, (I would have had to buy over 100 frisbees during the time this one has lasted had the dog trainer not encouraged me to try the Kong Frisbee)! This one has lasted a solid 9 months and while it shows wear and tear, it still flies. As other reviewers have pointed out, the frisbee is heavier than others, but I adapted to throw it and it works great for us! (I'm a relative novice when it comes to frisbee throwing but I do fine!) My dog gets tired out chasing AND catching the frisbee and he has a VERY difficult time destroying it so all is GREAT!After 9 months of constant use (I've gotten lazy and the frisbee gets left out frequently at the end of play sessions for the dog to gnaw on ...), it is finally time to replace. The edges are tattered and the plastic ring is starting to come through the rim ... BUT it still flies and my dog still catches it! This was by far the best purchase as far as dog toys go! It has held my dog's interest, has withstood many good gnaw sessions and has far exceeded my expectations. I recommend without hesitation!

So far so good. I’m a terrible at throwing, and I live in a multi-complex. With this I can toss it and it’ll wobble about 2-5 yards, which is good enough when my girl is just toooooooo hyper to be inside, which is about every other hour. Someone who’s got a good arm would be able to send this sucker flying probably. Not me.If I flip it and toss it up on its side, it goes straight up, allowing her to jump for it, which she loves. Also, I’ve got a serious super chewer, a blue healer, and in between fetch she feels the need to give the ball or frisbee an extra workout between her jaws. So far it’s lasted almost 2 months. This frisbee is soft flexible plastic or something...... idk. It’s great.Non-toxic, doesn’t have a super harsh odor straight out of the package, and is somewhat easy to clean. (I say somewhat because you’ll need a scrub brush to get in between the groves on the front if it gets muddy). Our flyer gets scraped on cement, tossed, chewed, violently shook, pulled like a tug toy (all her), and clawed at.THIS IS OFFICIALLY OUR LONGEST LASTING TOY!! Most don’t last past a couple days. Hahahahaha I’ll up load a picture when I remember to take one, and update if anything changes!!

OK, I have went through a variety of toys for Jarvis, my little Corgi, and he destroyed them all. Even toys "designed for large dogs" could not hold up to his fierce love for chewing and fetch. Fetch, the dog lives for fetch. We had resigned ourselves to buying cheap frisbees from the pet store and replacing them every week, once the center was about to fall out. But I saw this and had to give it a shot. Durable. Durable, durable, durable. Its been way longer than anything else lasted, and it is no worse for the wear. No rips, tears, or noticeable holes to be found. May just be the best dog toy ever. It isn't perfect, at least from a human point of view. It is floppy,so it doesn't fly quite as true as an actual Frisbee. It is heavy as well, which means an extended play time will give your arm(s) quite the workout. But no bloody gums from sharp plastic edges, no bits of colored stuff on the floor, and no 'emergency' trips to the pet store for a new Frisbee. Plus, not sure if all dogs would do so, he loves to fold it into a taco shape when returning it to me, and in bright red it sometimes looks like he has giant red smiling lips! If your dog is rough on toys, give this one a shot for sure.

We were getting through one of the traditional rigid Frisbee's every couple of weeks. The dog loved then but they just weren't tough enough.Got this one and at first were a little disappointed and concerned it would last no longer. However once you've mastered how to throw it, the technique is different from the traditional type, and learnt they won't go as far but will hang in the air longer, then it's pretty good and, what's more important, our dog loves it.She's still trying to train me at the moment and will, time and again, show me how to kill/dispatch the flyer once caught, by shaking vigorously and whipping it against the ground. At first I feared the Kong wouldn't be up to it and would soon be torn to shreds but I was wrong and 5 months in it's still in one complete piece.* UPDATE *one year in and it's finally given up the ghost. All that shaking has taken its toll and in the space of a couple of days a small hole became a big hole and finally the centre fell out leaving a ring of floppy rubber that flies about as well as a brick.Still, all in all, compared to previous frisbies it was still a good buy.

About 4 years ago, I started with a ball but Pepper, my 65 lb. black Lab didn't seem so thrilled, so I bought a plastic "Frisbee" knockoff from Target. She immediately loved it BUT had chewed it to pieces by the 3rd retrieval. Then I looked at Jefferspets and found these Kong toys. (I already knew Kong was a great brand) They were much more reasonably priced than at local chain pet stores. Since I buy a lot from Jefferspets, I have routinely added one of these small Kong Flyers to the order (no additional postage charge).I tried the large and the small Flyers and also the Kong black flyer but we like the small one best. The large red one is pretty heavy and I think the black one is too flimsy for Pepper. She still bites and shakes the small red one a lot on retrieve so that one lasts only 3 or so months and I make sure I always have a spare in my cabinet.Bottom line is that this toy is an everyday exercise "outing" in our back yard for Pepper that we both enjoy. The last throw of the morning is always a short throw that she is sure to catch. The catch is rewarded with a small handful of her dog food.

I read some of the negative reviews, and I couldn't figure out why people would think that this would compare with a regular plastic frisbee. It's RUBBER! It still flys great, and is durable enough for big dogs to chew and not ruin instantly, but it's never going to fly like a plastic frisbee. Having said that, my pit bull mix loves this toy, she can chew it to her hearts content, catch it and not hurt herself with hard plastic edges hitting her lips, and chew it some more! Great addition to your toy collection for big dog owners, and MUCH cheaper than the pet stores. I got this and the extreme kong toy (large size) for under $15. Half the price than the pet store. Can't beat that!**Edit after a trip to the dog park:So I was tempted to put this product to the test, since my pup is only 7 months old and really can't do 'that' much damage, yet anyways. After taking it to the dog park today, several rather large goliath sized dogs decided they'd help my pup play catch. Lots of tugging and pulling happened today with different sets of teeth, and not one rip/tear/hole in this durable frisbee. Impressive!

A brilliant exercising toy. We have a Border Collie and this small frisbee is an ideal size for him to carry. Contrary to what others have said that they are too heavy and do not fly well i can assure you that they do. We threw our first one on a windy Saturday afternoon and the wind caught it and it went sailing upwards and over some low trees and a securiy fence into a locked school playing field. Ordered a new one the next day which arrived in the Tuesday morning post just a few hours before we managed to retrieve the original from the school! The dog does try to chew it so we do have to stop him. He only gets to play with it with us ,the rest of the time it is in a doggy bag in my coat pocket so no problems having it to hand on our walks and the doggy bag saves my coat pocket getting dirty and wet.A cheap exercise toy is an empty 3 litre pop bottle.( REMOVE LABEL and TOP ) Our dogs mouth is too small to puncture the plastic so he chases the bottle round the garden using his nose and front paws. When the bottle eventually shows sign of wear it goes in the recycling bin and he gets a new bottle.

This is absolutely the best flying disc that I have ever bought for any of my dogs. We have been playing with this outside in sub-zero temperatures (down to -30 degrees) for the last 2 weeks and it stays soft and flexible, even in the freezing cold weather. It flies good, is very durable, and soft enough that even when it's extremely cold it doesn't hurt my dogs mouth when he catches it.He loves to shake it after he does a spectacular catch and then he grabs it so it folds in half like a big taco and brings it back. This KONG flyer springs right back to shape and hasn't been damaged in all the rough treatment that we have put it through. However, this is not an indestructible chew toy, just because it's made by KONG you can't let your dog just rip it apart. I almost didn't buy this because of a couple negative reviews and that would have been my loss. This is now my dogs favorite winter toy. I would recommend buying the large size which is closer to a normal Frisbee and should be called Standard size, not large.I would rating the KONG Flyer Dog Toy as freaking far out, my best possible rating :>)
