Below is my review years ago and I kinda still stand by it but I just want to update that if you have a pitbull or other powerful chewers they will get through this thing within a month at least. I just bought this again for like the 90th time and I do have a really hard time justifying paying so much money for a rubber ball, and I'm sure the companies that make these know that there's no way each one costs more than 50 cents to manufacture so it feels like dog owners are being taken advantage of after spending hundreds of dollars on rubber balls but still, these aren't indestructible but they do okay. If you've got a normal dog that doesn't chew to destroy this will probably serve you well.My mother for Christmas always buys my dogs Goughnuts toys and those last way longer but still get destroyed, and I'm sure they bank on people not taking them up on their lifetime warranty because I never do but if you want something that lasts a long time try those, they're just so expensive, again, i can't justify paying 30 bucks for a ball of rubber it seems absurd to me and I'm not some stickler but I'm also not an idiot- I know a rip off when I see one. Five dollars for any of these would be fair but okay. Anyway, here's my original review-I rated it five stars but I wish I could rate it one, only because my dog is so obsessed with it that it drives me crazy. Seriously, she does not give me one second of peace since I bought this thing she makes me throw it all day long, needs to take it outside and play with it, bring it everywhere she goes, and follow me with it and put it all over me no matter what I'm doing.Because she loves it so much I give it five stars, but man is it the most annoying thing ever. If you have the patience to throw a ball like this all day long go ahead and buy it, if you are fine with your dog destroying your entire house chasing this thing around go ahead and buy it. Otherwise buy a toy like the Kong you can fill with peanut butter where your dog will at least leave you at peace for like ten minutes.Bottom line, my dog Kaylee loves the hell out of this thing. If you're looking to make your dog happy you can't go wrong here. On the downside your dog will consistently be all up on you forever the second they get this. At least mine was. I love my dog to death and I have the patience to play with her but nothing I've ever seen on this level.

I really wish my three year old pit bull could write this review as he is the one who REALLY loves this ball. I put him up to the keyboard but he just kept licking my face and not paying any attention at all so I guess I'll have to write this for him. Besides, his heavy feet would likely just break the computer anyway...so it's probably better this way.My pit has torn apart many balls, any balls, and multiple toys, doesn't matter what kind. My sister bought him a purple Kong duck for Christmas....it didn't last to Valentine's.My pit's favorite game, other than "how many times can I lick your face before I need to drink water and refill my tongue", is fetch. He loves chasing down objects you throw, doesn't even matter what kind of object...although he's much more inclined to actually fetch it if it is in ball form. My pit's second favorite actual game is "how long will it take me to figure out what's inside this ball"...which is usually not long. After some browsing around, voila, a fetchable object, in ball form, that he can't tear apart (yet). He could chase down and chew this thing allllllll day long and sure, there are teeth marks (obviously) but no major damage yet, very cool. My chug (chihuahua/pug) likes getting in the way of fetch and has taken a rogue ball to the head before (she hasn't done it since) but she's a tough little dog and shook it off like a champ. She has stolen the ball from the pit before and she looks awfully hilarious with this large ball in her tiny mouth but she never has it for long.In conclusion, a tough ball for dogs with tough jaws. As other reviewers have pointed out, if you don't like slobber then you won't want this ball back. Then again, if you are completely averse to slobber then you likely don't have a dog that needs this ball.

This Kong ball was the PERFECT solution to our dogs peeling the fuzz off of tennis balls. Dakota didn't peel, she just chewed on a tennis ball until it broke in two pieces inside the outer fuzz layer. Sierra didn't chew, she peeled the fuzz off and ate it, which is dangerous and can harm your dog. A dog can die from too much fuzz in the belly. Allegedly, even the glue is harmful, and veterinarians claim that the fuzz grinds down teeth fairly quickly, so tennis balls present several dangers. Sierra was so adept in peeling off the fuzz, that a ball didn't last for even a single day.We decided to try both a red and a black Kong ball, not knowing if the red would survive our dogs who were so dedicated in destroying tennis balls. We've now had both Kong balls for almost two months, with no sign of destruction.Dakota LOVES her Kong ball, maybe even more than the tennis ball. She tosses it around, chases it, and amuses herself to no end with it. Sierra likes her Kong ball, but she hasn't adopted it the way she did tennis balls. She carries it around, but she does not chew on it.Both dogs will chase it if we throw it, but Sierra is cautious because it is a lot heavier than a tennis ball if it hits her leg while she's running. So we never throw them at or to the dogs, but somewhere else where they can chase, and you would NOT want to play catch. We all miss the tennis balls, but in the interest of a ball lasting for more than a day, and for the safety of our dogs, the Kong balls rule! Both balls do have a hole running through the center, in answer to the many questions I've seen on Kong balls. As for our dogs, Dakota weighs 75 pounds and Sierra weighs 50 pounds. Both are high energy herding breeds.

UPDATE: After a month of playing with the Kong ball and the Goughnuts ring daily and leaving the toys out for the dogs to chew on outside all day and night, I can say with confidence that these toys are as durable as I was hoping for. Look no further for a toy that your dog, who can chew through any other toy in a day, will enjoy for a long time. My toys have not so much as teeth marks in them yet. I am very happy with my purchase and have ordered spares for when these get lost in my woods. I highly recommend these products.I have 5 dogs, 4 of which are between 75 and 117 pounds. They are the kinds of dogs that can tear up most toys in one hour, even toys that claim to be nearly indestructible.I've had these toys (Goughnuts green ring and Kong black ball) for a week now. We've played with them every day and I've left them to chew on them when we're done (note that most toys suggest not letting your dog play with the toys unattended). So far I haven't seen any damage to the toys although they've tried. I don't know that they'll last forever, and I'll update my review when they do die, but compared to other toys they seem to be very durable. I've had a red Kong ball before that lasted until it got lost somewhere, but I've never heard of the Goughnuts so I was surprised. One note for the black Kong toy- it has a hole for stashing treats I suppose, and that'll be the first place they start to tear the toy up from. The red ball I had before didn't have this structural flaw and would be a better bet for durability. On the other hand the having the hole is the only way my 10 pound Yorkie can get a grip on it. The Goughnuts green ring is perfect for her (it's big and heavy- great exercise).

The idea of a rubber ball that could withstand the abuse of a chewing machine sent the human slave into a state of happiness. It was long something she had wished for, and had finally found. The human slave proceeded to order one for the wild beasts that owned her, and they waited patiently for it to arrive. The human slave was very pleased when the kong ball arrived, she thought it looked perfect, and hoped that the tribe of beasts agreed. The KONG looked to be a solid, well made product that could withstand much abuse from her delightful chewy chums. It came with some simple packaging that even the most sophisticated chewy chums could have appreciated, and it arrived safely and was delivered to the paws of the licking panting shedding machines. The waggy tailed chewy chums loved the smell and taste of the stinky rubber. Each to their own. She tried to tell them that if her keyboard smelled like that she definitely wouldn't lick it, but they were not put off by her reservations. The toys sent the pack of wild beasts into a frenzy of bouncing, wagging, panting and general euphoria. The relationship with the stinky rubber ball went on forever. They would take the black ball and sit with it, aimlessly chewing it for hours, making a beautiful symphony of squeaking rubber noises. Mozart couldn't compare. Even after several months, and then eventually years, the ball still stood up to the test of large sharp beast teeth and regular abuse. The toy stayed intact with only a peppering of tooth marks all over, like tooth holed freckles. They were firmly in love with these stinky rubber toys, and they lived happily ever after together

I have two dogs. The oldest dog wouldn't go near this ball because the smell was so overpowering. I put in in boiling hot water, then boiling hot water with detergent, boiling hot water with bleach, just full strength bleach, in a glass jar with water and a lid on it in the full Texas summer sun and heat, still too stinky after a full summer. The ball got lost in the yard for a couple years and the stink was finally gone when the dog found it again. The older dog enjoyed trying to get at the fresh Nudges crammed into the ball's hole but once the fresh smell left the treat remnants, so does the dog's interest. Enter second younger dog, 1/2 GSD & 1/2 Heeler.Same interest pattern as the first dog except the younger dog chews away at it and that makes a squeaking sound. It must have vulcanized and hardened further after a couple years because all she can chew off of the ball is the shine. The older dog tried to take it away from the lighter and younger dog and that incident changed them from being buddies to the younger not wanting anything to do with the older dog what so ever. Luckily I was right there to stop the eruption because it was all out rage on both parts, no one got hurt, except for feelings. If one dog has to go to the pound, it will be the older dog, it most likely learned that vile behavior from the NPD human living in my house with us. The ball, meanwhile, lives on and the younger dog gets to work on it by herself and she just loves it!

We have 2 dogs, the largest of which is 125 pounds. He is a master at destroying dog toys (massive teeth and strong jaws - yet still a gentle giant). Tennis balls last less than 5 minutes. The only dog toys that still exist are the nylon bones, but as far as rolling toys (balls or oddly shaped toys for throwing/chasing), this ball is clearly miles above any others. We have a couple of Kong toys. The Kong bone (large) was chewed in half after about 3 months and one of the ends still survives to this day (2 years later and has been dubbed the knobby). The other Kong, an extra larger 3-tiered toy (King Extreme) has survived without damage but rarely interests either dog. They like balls that roll or odd shaped toys that bounce in surprising directions. The Kong Extreme Ball is nearly indestructible. It is heavy so be careful when you throw it (I don't recommend tossing it to your dog to catch), but feel free to throw it out in the yard or down a hallway and watch them race to retrieve it. We had another toy that the loved (Ruffwear TurnUp we call it a nooby, but it is green and smaller than this ball but really bounces well and in surprising directions), but sadly it has disappeared. The same fate has befallen the Kong Extreme Ball. The younger dog carried it off towards the woods behind our house and dropped it never to be seen again. I am ordering a replacement after I finish this review.

I have a huge pit bull who is extremely strong and I was NOT disappointed with the kong ball. The first day we got him we took him out to a pet store and spent $50 on toys/bones it took him hours to demolish them. We then went to walmart spent more got tennis balls, chuck it etc gone with in the day. That's it from dogs my dad owned (Also pit bulls) I know the Kong ball is long lasting but this was years ago so I wasn't positive they would still be so durable. So turns out NO walmart carries them we called the pet stores/visited websites couldn't find any! Omg so of course Amazon has everything I am so happy to find this and for so cheap!! The reviews on Kong products (I viewed many before purchasing)scared me a little but I'm glad I took the risk. Its currently lost right now but I have had it for a few weeks and the only thing he could do to it was make a few I mean maybe 2 or 3 teeth scrapes we've thrown that ball (before lost of course) probably at least 100 times. Amazing!A tennis ball literally ( I am not exaggerating) will last one throw as he brings it back he chews and chews and its done. The kong ball is a perfect size for a very large dog it's a bit bigger than a tennis ball so if you have a small dog get a smaller size. It's not too heavy and again very durable I would highly recommend this to anyone with an aggressive chewer.I will be ordering a few more

I have a couple Shepard mixes. One is an absolute crazed beast. Originally I just played with the bigger ball with her, she started with a basketball then graduated to a Jolly ball. My wife got one of these, I didn't think she was going to like it. She LOVES it. This thing has some serious bounce. I have a decent sized backyard and it needs some work, the ground is uneven all over the place, but it works for this. It goes all over the place and keeps them chasing and going crazy with it keeping their prey drive engaged. This thing is an absolute beast. I haven't seen a single tear in it for the near year we've had the first one.I usually take the ball up after a play session b/c my rottie/shepard mix gets a bit obsessive and demanding with bringing it to you to throw. I do leave it with her at night as its like a security blanket for her to keep her from chewing her "indestructible" bed apart. Kong toys are the only toys that have held up so far and this one is their favorite.I actually have 3 of them haha. I keep one tucked away for when our newer rescue who doesn't like to bring back/give up the ball takes it and go lay down with it, I can keep the psycho busy still. The third one was when they decided to hide one from me for a couple weeks.

So far these have been AMAZE-BALLS!!!!! We got rescued a three-year-old pit in November and he loves to play catch. One 30-minute session later he had thoroughly DESTROYED three tennis balls. I immediately went online to find toys that he wouldn't demolish. We bought two of the small ones. There is a hole through the center, but I am thankful for it as it gives me grip on the slimy ball. Our guy will play with this thing all-day/every-day if we let him. When we are home one is always out and it is usually in his mouth. Even if he isn't chewing it he keeps it close by. One week later and not a single mark on this guy. :) These have been a life and money saver! We got the small one because other reviews said that it was tennis ball sized. They are perfect for our dog. He doesn't like to grab onto things much bigger than a tennis ball because he bites his lips if he does so I was so happy to find out that these were available that size.I HIGHLY suggest these for dogs with a strong bite and who love to chew, and will make sure to update this in a few months in anything has changed. :)

I am so glad I bought this for my pooch! I was originally going to buy a dif ball that was over $20 thinking to myself the price is worth it if it stays together but I read the reviews and I'm so glad I did because a lot of people suggested this one instead so i gave it a try thinking it wasn't going to work since its 1/3 The price of the other but it is great! I have a beagle lab mix and labs are very aggressive chewers so mine has that trait. Every toy we bought her from store that said they were for aggressive chewers she had in pieces in literally less than an hour. We felt bad because the only way we could keep a toy was to put it up when we weren't throwing it for her.We have had this one for a few months and she has not even put a mark in it yet! And we've let her chew on it to her hearts content and nothing! I am so happy with this product I came back and ordered the red originally kong toy as well in case we can't find this black one cuz it's behind something somewhere. Not to mention they are so easy to clean. I can not recommended this product enough!

March 8 2020: Two months later the dogs still love the balls, and they still exist in nearly whole form. First pic is the two beasts still loving one of the balls, the second is that ball's condition. This is the more chewed of the two and it's still ball-shaped! Highly recommend these for enthusiastic chewers! I would give 6 stars if that was a choice.Jan 7 2020: After reading other pitbull owners' reviews of this ball I decided to give it a try for my son's two pits... Dang, these things rock! Like most other reviewers who had purchased other 'pitbull-proof' dog toys I was skeptical. Most of those other toys didn't last 5 minutes once the dogs got them. This ball on the other hand has now survived two weeks since Christmas! My son says they have some small cuts, but are otherwise still serviceable! The two dogs love to wrestle over one or the other, rather than each enjoying their own. Bottom line: the dogs love them, and they're super durable. If these fail we'll have to resort to large steel ball-bearings or cue balls! Awesome product.

Note: The small size is the same size as a tennis ball. It fits in our Pro Chuck It ball launcher. The large size is not all that much bigger, but it is considerably heavier. It does not fit in the Chuck It, and kinda hurts if it's dropped on your bare foot. We bought an automatic ball launcher, but this small ball, although the right size, is too heavy to work in it.My Pit Bull mix is obsessed with this ball. He wants it in his possession 24/7. When he naps, he keeps it in his mouth and rhythmically chews on it, like a baby sucking on a pacifier. He gets worried when it's out of his sight or if he has to leave it briefly. He looks silly carrying it around, but couldn't care less.He has zero interest in any other toy as long has he has his ball. He can destroy a tennis ball or a rope toy in minutes. He tears up regular Kong toys within half an hour. He has had this ball for a month, and it's just now showing little cracks near the hollow core which indicate that it may not be long for this world. I bought a couple more as back ups.

I bought this as an add on item for my pitsky. She is more of a ball kind of dog and she loves it. I got the medium because it's closer to the size of a baseball. She loves it so far. It's not incredibly hard for her to get her favorite treats out of here which makes it easier to clean as well. It bounces a little and has no squeaker which is what we were looking for because she hates squeaky toys. My only real complaints are that like other Kong treat things the rubber picks up hair like crazy, and there are no color options for the extreme than black. The hole fits a small Kong Ziggy stick very snuggly or two halves of a pupperoni stick side by side. Good purchase overall for us.Will update if she is able to tear it UPDATE 7/17/18 AFTER HAVING RHIS FOR 18 DAYS IT IS UNSAFE TO PLAY WITH ANYMORE. SHE IS ABLE TO START TEARING OFF CHUNKS OF IT AND SINCE IM AFRAID SHE WILL EAT SAID CHUNKS I TOOK IT AWAY. I MEAN FOR $8 I PROBABLY WOULD BUY IT AGAIN. I MAY LOOK INTO GETTING A LARGER ONE THOUGH AS THIS ONE DIDN'T EVEN LAST A FULL MONTH.

Great ball for aggressive chewers. My two pit bull and Lab mixed dogs each weighing 100+ pounds love these balls. The red one never lasted and needed something stronger for them. The ball has a cylinder opening to put treats inside to keep the pups occupied. . I put small greenie treats in mine. I like that they’re durable and without any squeaking noises to drive owners crazy! My dogs keep one outside and one inside the house. The one outside just gets real hot in our 100+ degree summer weather. I have to put it in water before they place it in their mouth to cool it down. It’s seems to be made out of tire rubber. It’s is really durable to use in cold, hot environments and as a water toy.It has a heavy weight to it, so if you use it to throw and catch be careful not to throw it at your pet to catch. The ball also has a nice steady bounce to it. A negative part is the smell of black rubber. It kind of goes away with time. I would recommend this to anyone who owns an aggressive chewer.
