I looked forward to using the Pure Oriental Sushi maker and had looked into 2 alternatives before choosing it. First of all, use proper sushi rice! I tried it first with Basmati rice which just didn't stick together. I do find sushi just as easy to make rolling in a standard sushi mat as using this maker. However, this maker comes into its own when slicing. I found it easy to slice lovely even pieces of sushi, which looked great on the sushi plate. It is fairly easy to clean, but do this immediately before the rice residue goes all glue-like and hard.

This piece of equipment has proved to be a prized kitchen possession. It makes excellent sushi and allows plenty of scope for innovation. Has had regu;ar use and I can see that it could be useful in small commercial establishments.

Amazing! So easy to use and clean. I bought this after failing horribly with the bamboo rolling mat. Watch the video on here instead of reading the small black and white instructions though.

I was a little worried when I ordered this but am glad to say that it works really well and with little fuss. Even and professional looking maki!!!

This is genuinely amazing. Making sushi for the first time was so much fun and a real success! I would definitely recommend this product.

Makes sushi very easy to make bought for husband who loves sushi he thinks it's a fantastic piece of kit recommend for beginners
