When I broke my grater trying to grate ginger, I thought I should get a metal one for future use. My mistake! Having tried the metal one for a week, I thought, "You know, the old one did a great job for over 15 years - shame I can't find a replacement." Then, another look through Amazon and lo and behold there is exactly the same grater I had broken.Ignore the comments about the handle coming off - it cannot do this in mid grate. Ignore the comments about being hard to clean - simply turn the handle backwards for it to slip off and release the barrel. Assembly is also simple - hold the barrel in place with your finger (on the inside where there are no sharp edges), put the handle in place and turn it forward to lock.

I used to have a Moulinex cheese grater, best ever - which is why I bought this rotary version from KitchenCraft. simple to use, comes with three separate barrels and easy to clean in the top drawer of the dishwasher. I don't find the action as smooth as the Moulinex hence dropping a star but compared to using a regular sort of upright grater this is easier and potentially less dangerous as no chance of grating your fingers by mistake.

It works well as a grater. A dangerous feature is removing the handle to extract the grater ring for cleaning. There is a real danger of removing part of a finger when doing this. I use a wooden skewer to prevent the drom rotating while removing the handle.

Brilliant for small children, no grated fingers! It can be annoying if they twist the handle the wrong way because the it comes off but they'll get used to it the more they use it. Have wanted one for a while and thought this was a good price.

Excellent product purchased to replace broken predecessor. Requires smaller portions of cheese etc. to be grated but much sturdier than my previous model. Quick delivery and lower price than similar models. Highly recommended.

Very easy to assemble, use and clean. I prefer the old type of grater but my husband loves his new gadget that he first saw on a cooking programme and had to have one. Not expensive and arrived quickly.

This was the third I have bought the first in a Ironmongers in Malton, the second in Helmsley, Both those shops closed now. The third I. Bought from Amazon better price the same worthwhile grater!

I love the simplicity and ease of use. It's comfortable in the hand and no more grated knuckles. The easy attach/detach handle is a great idea. Easy to clean and makes grating less of a chore.

I liked these a lot, very easy to use and I didn't get cheesy hands either but than I lost the bloody handle! Or maybe it was my kids, who knows? but I'll blame them anyway. Well cheesed off!

Well designed grater and it works fine. It's quite small, which I think is reflected in the price. It has a stop to prevent grating the plastic and comes apart easily for cleaning.

Apart from the handle dropping off occasionally it is perfect for what I need. Grates Parmesan well, softer cheeses,cheddar etc, tend to clog in the barrel. Also good for veggies.

This is such an easy rotary grater to use, I use it for cheese only. It works so well and is so easy to take apart to clean, just put it in the dishwasher. Brilliant price too!

This is my second one. The first one we lost a barrel - probably mistakenly binned it - and another one broke. I had zero hesitation in buying another. It's "grate"! ;)

Great piece of kit, I feel it is slightly over priced for what it is but couldn't find better elsewhere. Despite that, no regrets as very handy and functional
