Here I am buying another of these rotary graters. This is for my daughter who tends to buy ready grated. My experience is that whole nutmeg nuts are infinitely more tasty than ready grated powder which is bland by comparison. I have had my grater for many years and it has never let me down. Mine grates and does not slice as has been described by others. Perhaps I don't use much pressure and so do not cause the spring to push the nut onto the knife as much as they do. The nut is held firmly by 4 prongs and fits easily. The thought of an ordinary grater is not a pleasant one. I envisage my skin mixed with nutmeg on the top of my rice pudding. aggh!!

I was getting feed up grating the end of my fingers along with the nutmeg and leaving bits of nutmeg ungrated. Saw this advertised and thought I would give it a try. I am very impressed I love it. It is so easy to use. You simply twist the two half anti clockwise put a nutmeg in the centre hole, store your spare nutmegs around the middle, put the top on. Twist handle to grate as much of as little as you want. Another plus I used to have small piles of grated nutmeg wherever I put my grater now no mess. Thinking of getting my daughter one as wrll.

This has been one of the quickest delivery services from an Amazon request that I can recall. I ordered it yesterday and it arrived this morning... stunning. The article was well packaged and the mill/grinder is absolutely perfect for what I need - a grater that produces a slightly coarser grain than the fine, dusty powder that many others produce or shop packets contain. This is absolutely perfect and I cannot praise the efficiency of dispatch and delivery highly enough. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to all my friends. Many thanks.

This is a perfect nutmeg grater. You get to grate the nutmeg directly into your cup or exactly where you want it, I always had a problem with a grater where the nutmeg just went everywhere and was an arduous task trying to hold it without grating yourself. It is so nice to get freshly ground nutmeg on tap with such ease and be able to store more nutmeg so you will never run out.

Not bad at all (and, unlike another reviewer's, mine did come with instructions). It's not as pretty as the one it's replacing (but may, with luck, be sturdier and last longer) and it doesn't grind quite so finely (which may mean I need to keep looking for one that's better suited to my needs), but it's a good deal cheaper than my old one. For the price, it's extremely good.

This really is a very good gadget - amazing value - it uses up all the odd bits of nutmeg that you could not grate without grating your fingers. Why on earth pay more. So good have immediately ordered another for a friend and will probably add them to Christmas stocking. Not often you find something so good value. Don't waste your money buying a more expensive one.

-- I use a surprising amount of nutmeg. My previous nutmeg grater fell to bits after a couple of months. This one is bigger, stronger, better; the only slight criticism I have is that the shape makes it just a little tricky for my small weak hands to hold -- but not a problem. It is so easy to control; and storage for nutmegs in perimeter is very handy, too.

I was looking for the perfect grinder for tonka beans and tried different mills (e.g. Cole & Mason Nutmeg Mill) and was quite disappointed as you could not grind the bean until the end...Then I discovered this Nutmeg Grinder which works also perfectly for the tonka beans for the greatest pleasure of my taste buds.Best value for money so just go for it!

I'm glad that I wasn't put off by by some of the poor reviews this has, because mine works brilliantly. It grinds evenly, and even ground up all the little pieces of nutmeg I had left over from my days of trying to grate by hand. Probably not the most robust or attractive of gadgets, but does exactly what it says on the tin.

This gadget does exactly what it is supposed to do, by producing a very fine flake rather than a powder. It is easy to load.Whether it will last as long as the old fashioned aluminium grater my mother used for about 50 years I cannot yet tell! Come back in 2061 and check to see if I have any further comments on this!!

This little device makes putting fine nutmeg shavings in food really easy. No more grated fingers for me. Its easy to place the nutmeg in and then you just turn the handle. I cant comment as to how long the device would last over time, buts its not exactly expensive, and makes keeping and using nutmeg more convenient.

Fantastic little gadget for finely shaving nutmegs...no more grated fingers! It was not expensive, because the body is made of plastic. I did have one years ago, made with a metal body, very substantial and durable. I think this one should do ok if it is not abused... it's worth it, just to save yourfingers!

Works brilliantly. Only problem is you have to press down hard and twist to close it against a strong spring. I bought this for my mum thinking it would be easier for her arthritic hands than a grater, but she can’t close it. Once it’s closed, however she manages perfectly well. Otherwise very good product.

Easy to use, it does shave rather then grind, but very finely.Much better then scraping your knuckles on an old-fashioned grater, then dropping the nut into whatever you're preparing. Can't understand why anyone would buy a nutmeg grinder & expect it to grind seeds.

Kitchen craft nutmeg mill was a desision made mainly on price. I have to say however that design and quality of the item were amazing. Really easy to use and gives a fine milled nutmeg. Would recomendnow had for over 2 years and still working great. no loss of grind
