I suppose Kensington know what they're doing pricing these 32cm Lightning cables at a recommended price of sixteen quid each. You get a box of five for a whopping eighty quid. Of course the price you pay on Amazon will be somewhere lower than that, but even if you manage to secure a 50% discount they'll be very expensive. In terms of features the only thing that really stands out is that the USB A plug that you insert into your power source is at right angles to the cable. I suppose there might be some circumstances under which this is more convenient than the cable emerging from the plug in the normal way. If you pull the lead to remove it from the socket then it's not going to come out so willingly. The cable seems robust, the plugs at each do exactly what you'd hope for from a Lightning cable. It's just that you can get a cable for a third of the price, and there's no evidence here that you are getting a bulk discount by purchasing five at once. Finally, I'm happy to report that Kensington have packaged these cables in the simplest of small cardboard boxes. But then each cable is tucked into its own clear plastic bag marked with a recycling 4 which means it's made of LDPE - Low density polyethylene is most found in squeezable bottles, shopping bags, clothing, carpet, frozen food, bread bags, and some food wraps. Some curbside recycling programs pick up this plastic. Plastic #4 rests among the recycling symbols considered to be safe. It is recycled into compost bins, panelling, trash can liners and cans, floor tiles, and shipping envelopes. The total amount of plastic these cables are shipped in is really very small, but it would be possible for Kensington to completely remove plastic from the packaging, which would show a real care for our planet.

These 3rd party (Kensington) lighting to USB cables are really aimed at (business) users of the Kensington Charge and Sync cabinet - an expensive multi-device charging cabinet, with a number of secure features. You might think: but - they're cables. I don't have the cabinet, but do have a family with a range of Apple devices who seem to go through cables at what seems a frightening rate. These cables are pricey - the RRP puts them at a whisker shy of £16 per cable - not far from the Apple store price for a replacement cable, and quite a lot more than the braided cables I'd bought recently as spares. But these aren't really intended to be used by just anyone: they're designed to fit neatly inside the Charge & Sync cabinet. The cables are supplied in a very small cardboard box, inside which each is individually plastic wrapped. These are extra-short length cables, only a little over 30cm - presumably designed not to leave lengths of trailing cabling inside the Charge & Sync cabinet. The cables are also distinctive in having their USB connection at a 90 degree angle to the cable. This is useful for hubs that position their USB ports in a vertical array, but creates a bulging section of cable to the side of the plug that intrudes on horizontal port set ups. The cables are nicely made, but seem to charge really slowly. Overnight connection took my iPad Air up to 21% charge. The are probably great for the (narrow) intended use but a bit restrictive and comparatively expensive for other users.

The Kensington K67864WWA USB to Lightning Charge and Sync Cable were designed to be used with a kensington bulk device charger which i don't have to test it with. I do have an anker and bluelounge charging station and use that to charge my iDevices at home and work. The right angle connectors work well in those use cases - in teh case of the bluelounge device it made the cabling much tidier. The right angle connectors are a good space saver and make for tidy cables coming out of the device. The length is short; presumably to tie up with the Kensington case. The cables themselves are thicker than most Lightning cables; and have a reasonable strain relief - which should help reduce fraying at the connectors- i would be a bit happier if the strain relief were longer. The cable connectors feel nice and sturdy (and not hollow like some cheap cables i have bought in the past.)Kensington made the cables for a specific task; bulk charging devices in one of their charging stations. The short length of the cable likely is a turn off for other use cases - though one has found a home in my car's usb socket as its close to the perfect length for the glovebox. Compared to similar higher end cables like Anker's powerline range the price is right for the build.

For many people the Kensington brand name is perhaps still mainly associated with the computer security lock system that bears the company's name, but Kensington itself has actually been part of ACCO Brands – the office products manufacturer - for many years, and it now produces quite a wide range different office/computer related items these days. These rather short Lightning Charge and Sync Cables are designed primarily for use with the Kensington Charge & Sync Cabinet which allows the charging of a large number of Lightning devices at the same time. However, they work for any purpose where a short Lightning cable is required, and I found that the right-angled USB plug makes them ideal for use with portable power banks, and their charging time is particularly good. Currently a little under seventy-five pounds from Amazon for a box of five cables these work out at a premium price of around fifteen pounds each, and there are many similar products at a much lower price. However, these cables are designed to meet a specific purpose and are very well made and perfect for their intended use. Five stars for build-quality, but three stars for value at the current price if you only need Lightning cables for general purpose use – four star average.

At £5.10 each these are certainly a lot more expensive than some other usb to mini usb charging/sync cables. However, Kensington are a quality brand, and that quality is replected in these cables. I like the right angled usb plug, which will prevent any excessive pulling at that end of the cable. The plugs are well secured, and the cable seems thicker and stiffer than on cheaper cables. Charging and syncing works flawlessly with all five cables, and they come in a small box, individually wrapped in plastic.I've learnt from experience that buying cheap cables is usually a mistake because they dont last that long. I am confident these will be far more durable, and I think the price tag is justified in this case.My only gripe is that I wish they were a little longer, as 200mm is a bit on the short side. Otherwise, I am more than happy with them.

The Kensington USB to Micro USB Charge and Sync Cables (item K67866WWA) are a set of five short cables specifically designed for use with Samsung Galaxy Tablets, Kindles and Android tablets etc.The first thing you notice about the cables when they arrive is the length of the cables – or more specifically – the lack of length. They’re just 20cm long, which really isn’t very long. However, they really are good quality cables. At either end, the moulded plastic around the USB/micro-USB is tight, strong, sturdy and well-made.The right-angled USB is spot on. It makes charging / linking up your tablet that much easier, without the cable sticking out and getting in the way. It’s well designed and does the job nicely.Although not sure about the pricing! I know it’s for five of the cables, but still, seems a tad high to me!

There is no doubt that these are good cables, well made by a very good company, at just under £26 there quality cables. These cables are made for the Kensington Charge and Sync cabinet, these are cabinets that Keep up to 10 tablets locked securely for charging and syncing, this is obviously a commercial cabinet, not something i would image you’d have in the home. This is why they are short and have an angled plug, that way you can shut the cabinet, and everything is neat and tidy. The cable is very good as are the connections to the plugs. If you have a sync cabinet you may wish to justify the price, but if using these for everyday charging a sync,I’d think long and hard before spending so much money of 5 cables.Very good quality and if you have the cabinet you may require these, otherwise perfect cables.

Brilliantly useful and portable, these lightning charge and sync cables are light and short enough for travelling and for use with simultaneous charging units. These cables, additionally, are great for battery power packs and mobile phones and also as spare charging cables around the home and office. The short cables mean that they do not get tangled up but equally are not long enough for simultaneously charging and speaking on the phone. The build quality of the product is excellent: they are incredibly sturdy and it is unbelievable how many cheaper and longer cables need replacing over the course of just 6 months. However, the fact that at the time of writing (October 2018), they are £72.95 (for a pack of 5)does not make these especially good value. Hence the overall 4* rating.

These are very simple cables. They are lightning to USB so perfect as a replacement for the original lightning cable that came with your iPhone, or as a replacement cable for your portable battery. Why this is brilliant in the latter case is that the the lightning connector is angled meaning that if used in a battery pack, results in it being less like for the cable to become frayed when trying to charge the phone side by side. The length is about 3cm too long in my opinion but that's personal preference. I wish at this price too, the cable itself was made of slightly studier materials. The actual housing at the lightning connector end however is very solid and durable.I've had a few 3rd party cables fail at the joint, but I can see less risk of that here.

Our lives are getting fuller and fuller of USB devices. We tend to jealously guard iPhone cables, but the micro USBs which come with everything from headphones to selfie-sticks tend to get put down and then vanish into thin air. This is a convenient set of five short (really short) Micro USB to standard USB cables. Note that there are three different USB device sizes: regular, micro and mini, and this is only for the micro ones, which slightly smaller and flatter than the mini ones. This pack isn't going to set your life on fire, and you will most likely lose them in the end (if you bought them because you lost the original ones)but they overcome the irritation of never having the cable for a seldom used device.

These are sold in a box of 5 for £75, which works out at £15 per cable, which is expensive as lightning charge cables go... however, in a house where I get fed up of replacing cables that have broken on a fortnightly basis, these feel much sturdier than many being sold for a £5, and hey, with five in the box, I have a replacement ready. As said, they are fairly short, ideal if plugging into a laptop in close proximity, or using as an in-car charger as I do, however if you want something reaching from a socket to the desk, then these are not suitable.

14.10.2018

The difference with this lightning cable is that it has a 90 degree exit from the USB connector (see photo with an iPhone X for size comparison, apologies for tartan overload) which may prevent unnencessay bending of a conventional cable if you have very limited space. I actually found it was ideal in the car, keeping the cable and iPhone close to the charging point.Other than, it works just as well as an Apple lightning cable and looks and feels well made. If anything, the cable and connectors actually appear more robust.

8.12.2018

As other reviewers have pointed out, these cables are specially designed for the Kensington charge cabinet, which is why they are short and the USB end has a 90degree angle, so that everything will be fit in a confined space. They re well designed sturdy charging cables which I expect to be very durable and they are perfect designed for that use. However, for normal use, simply for charging your iPhone or iPad these will not be the best value cables. For the

As I expected, these short cables are of good construction and they connect well to my iPhone. They are primarily intended for charging a set of iPads using a Kensington Charge & Sync Cabinet (intended for schools, museums, restaurants, etc.), being the appropriate length and having a right-angled USB connector for this purpose. Unless you have one of these cabinets, there are much more cost-effective cables out there.

Kensington are certainly one of the superior IT brands. This is a pack of 5 super charging cables for your iPhone.I am not too sure as to why you would need 5, perhaps if you're a whole seller. The cost of the 5 cables are quite high, however they do an excellent job of charging your phone quickly using a fast charger. They can also be used for regular chargers too.
