Received my 3.5mm Audio + Charge RockStar (full disclosure) through the Belkin's Fans First program. My job requires a lot of travel and use of my iPhone 7 and occasionally I have had to stop using my sound cancelling ear buds so I could charge and listen. I tried a charging adapter that supposedly would let you listen, but the iPhone popped up a message that it couldn't support this equipment, so I sent it back. (always read the reviews before ordering!!) Anyway, I finally got a chance to work and use the RockStar. The short lead from the connector to the RockStar is extra heavy, with strain relief at the connection points. I have no concerns that it will accrue wear and tear over time,

My noise suppression headphones are happy again! So I love my iPhone but like many people found Apple's decision to no longer provide an headphone jack disheartening (don't they know how much I paid for my noise-suppression headphones?) Don't get me wrong, the battery life is great BUT long flights and end of day gym visits still leave me with little battery life and no way to charge and listen simultaneously- until Belkin helped out. Love this little adapter. No, I don't need it everyday but when you get a red battery and are only halfway through your playlist you will be one of the first to drop Belkin a thank you note, Thanks for remembering that while wireless headphones are great,

I was very skeptical of this product, but I had to try it, as I love streaming music in my car. What is great about the RockStar is that I gained back what was taken away...a seamless integration. I can now get in my car, plug my phone in to the charger, and stream music without using Bluetooth. Another advantage is that I do not have to plug in an audio jack, because it is already connected to the RockStar. This is the first example where I do not mind the headphone jack being removed. Being able to charge and use traditional jacks is a must for me. Never do I lose power to the connection to the car or when I use it to stream when mowing the lawn. The form factor is streamlined and not bulky.

I was looking for a better option that gave me the functions from my iPhone 7. I wanted to use my headphones with a 3.5mm audio jack and Belkin's Rockstar 3.5mm Audio + Charger lasted longer than other alternatives I tried. It's been a about 1 week and 11 months before I needed to replace it. The inside wires became exposed, but after all the wear and tear it has held up great. It still works, just decided to replace it before the adapter gave out on me. I appreciate the quality product. The only 2 issues I had with this was the length of the cord from the adapter, it causes the dongle to hang down, adding weight and stress to the cord. Sometimes the "accessory not compatible" message came up on my phone.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to try and rate this item.I shared this item with several of my iPhone 7 friends and received the same reaction from all. It works great and gives the user a great way to use their expensive pre-iPhone 7 headphones with their current device while allowing charging at the same time. One noted that she would use it to recharge and listen on long plane flights as she travels using the Rockstar and a portable charging device. Several also noted that they might be interested in a product that was smaller that does the same job, but with no cable extension. I loved it and used it primarily to listen to music at bedtime while falling asleep and knowing that my phone would be charging overnight with our usinga different cord.

I've now had the product for a few weeks and recently used it on a vacation. It did everything you'd expect--allow you to charge and use your earbuds--but I'm not doing that every single day. So I wanted the Rockstar, but I thought I'd only use it in those rather rare cases, but this is where things changed for me. Turns out I'd rather travel with it then my iPhone headphone adapter. When on an airplane it works just great and doesn't take up much room in my earbud case, and normally I don't consider charging my phone while on an airplane, though I own a small USB battery. PROSNothing extraordinary about it but the Belkin dongle is definitely one of the best products out there compared to other dongles. I haven’t had it for too long (about two weeks) but it seems to be better quality than any of the other third party dongles I’ve had. I’ve got faith that it won’t short out on me after a few months like the others since it is Apple certified. Personally I think paying the extra 10-20 bucks is worth it, durability has a price.CONSIt’s bulkier and longer than I’d like and the wire is so thick that it doesn’t want to bend much which leads to it sticking out of your pockets.

The packaging is well designed, it easily explains the adapter’s functionality using colorful symbols and icons. The build quality of the adapter is on par with Apple’s and feels durable. The functionality is plug and play. As soon as you connect the adapter to your headphones and charger it starts playing and charging simultaneously. The audio quality is not degraded by the adapter. I tested it side by side with the same audio file on an Apple device with a headphone jack and it’s just as good. It would be great if Apple did not remove the 3.5mm audio port but I’m grateful that Belkin released this as it solves the problem in a simple and elegant manner.

Belkin should have made this Headphone splitter adapter from the beginning. It does everything you want. It allows you to use your old 3.5mm headphones, charge your phone while listening to music/talking on phone, allows headphone controls to work, and also allows data passage through for syncing and file transfer. The only thing this doesn't allow is 2 headphones usage (one 3.5mm and one lightning), but Belkin already said that doesn't work on their page and that would be a rarely used option anyways (sharing on a bus or plane?). I'll probably buy another.I have the Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar and now that is wasted now (didn't allow data passage).

I just received this adapter as a test before getting an iphone 8. I am using it with an iPhone 6 plus. The audio sound is better than that iPhone audio port! The sound has more depth, is crisper, and is more vibrant. My headset is a HyperX Cloud gaming headset, and people indicate that the sound of my voice is better with this adapter than using the stock port as well. My gf said it sounded as clear as a landline instead of like a cell phone. The inline controls also work on the headset even though it is not certified made for iPhone.

I understand (kind of) why Apple got rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack, but I don't understand why they did it before they introduced wireless charging - because it created the problem of not being able to charge your phone and listen on headphones unless you shelled out for bluetooth 'phones (I guess I kind of answered my own question there!).This product solves that problem. Excellent product from belkin as usual. To many times knock offs aren’t compatible with iPhone products and are made cheaply. Not this one. The charge rockstar is made well. The charge wire is thick and substantial. It’s as if apple made it themselves. The charge cords are a perfect snug fit. The lightning end also fits like a glove. No messages that it’s not compatible with Apple products. Would definitely recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This product rocks, when I moved to iPhone 7, my biggest challenge was that I could not use headphones while my phone was charging, if you are a heavy phone user, you do need to charge couple times a day. I was really missing my iphone 6's audio jack. This is a perfect fit for my needs, it plugs into the lightning port and i can simultaneously charge and use the headphones. I am on the road quite a bit and this works great. It enables me to keep my phone charged while I have maps open and the AUX allows me to play my music through my car stereo. It also enables me to use my headset while charging. This is a MUST if you want to listen to your music while charging, whether through your headset or through your car stereo. I saw this on a write up on yahoo and was skeptical at first. Previous adapters like this that I had purchased stopped charging shortly after buying or wouldn't be able to use ghe mike function. I bought this and have had zero issues so far. Charged my phone and can use the headphones and mic as well. Worth the price you pay as now I don't need to worry about my battery dying while using the headphones.
