This is one of my favourite more affordable blended whiskeys. I always try to have a 70cl or 1 ltr bottle of Smokey Black at hand for my solitary drinking sessions on Friday or Saturday evening - the missus is a teetotal so its most convenient to stick to one or two glass of whiskey rather than opening a bottle of wine. I always try to buy my Smkey Blacks for a good price when on offer either on-line or at the duty free shop when travelling.This clear Smoky Black Grouse whiskey has a rich taste and has a good smoky, slightly sweet flavour - however the smoky aspect is not as strong and prevalent as some of my other, slightly more premium smoky whiskeys like Laphroaig or Lagavulin.

I'm not a fan of the original Famous Grouse but this whisky is a huge step up in quality from the original. It's much more rich in flavour and so much smoother. Bear in mind that it's not an aged whisky so it still has a little bit of youthful burn to it. Drink it neat with a teaspoonful of added water or 1 small ice cube. For the price you really can't go wrong here. The addition of rare peated Glenturret whisky in this blend really makes a huge difference. If you're a fan of Teacher's whisky you will love this! Also look out for Tamnavaulin single malt whisky on Amazon for £19.99. Remember that you might be asked to show some proof of age I.D. when receiving your delivery.

I'm not a whisky buff. I admit to buying on price, and this was on offer. Amazon pricing needs carefully monitoring as it can be up and down like a yo-yo. This is fine for a little neat sip or with a little water, but I generally mix with ginger ale and it was perfect for that.

Not a bad whisky at all. For the price this is a very reasonable bottle of whisky. When they said smoky black I was expecting it to be far more so based on the colour, but at the same time it's not overpowering. I think they mean more charcoal than peaty.

Slightly sweet smokey rather than heavily peaty. Very drinkable for an everyday whisky. If you're someone who is happy with the occasional cigar in celebration or wood smoked burger, then you'll probably like this.

First time trying this whisky, lovely flavour, very smooth, not harsh goes down a treat. Got a lovely smoky taste to it. Don't need ice can drink it neat. Top marks and for the price it's definitely a bargain.

The whisky is lovely, as expected.Delivered by a very rude driver. I know it is an age restricted product but is it REALLY necasary to ask for proof of age from a 58 year old?

I love the Smokey, peated whiskies. So this was a lovely addition to the collection. Great flavour and aroma.Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

If you like smoky Islay style whisky this is the best blend on the market in it's price range. If you get it on offer at £15 a bargain.

The best blended whisky I have ever had in my life. I could drink every day all day long.. congrats famous grouse. No hangover.

A more flavourful and fuller version of Famous Grouse, and much the preferred whisky of the two, in my opinion.
