I don't ordinarily buy or drink Vodka, leaning more towards a nice single malt, so I am by no means a connoisseur. So what's the deal with me writing this then! At the winter Good Food show in Birmingham last year I was drawn in by what the seller/producer was saying about the product and how it was made. I was intrigued. He tempted me to try one of the samples which I was reluctant to do at first, as I truly don't like vodka much, but did give it a go as he assured me it would be different to any vodka I'd tried before. He wasn't wrong, and I'll put my hands up, I was surprised. This is the smoothest, most creamiest drink that just literally tantalises the tastebuds. I can't believe how much I like this, and have given to likewise sceptical friends who have since gone out and bought some. For me, the best way to drink is just a small glass and nothing else, room temperature and just sip and enjoy it. My friend was adamant it should be drunk chilled from the freezer, but to be honest he's admitted different after trying that method. If you love vodka, then I think you will really like this. If you hate vodka, find someone who has a bottle, or if you see it in a bar/bistro (don't think you'll find it in a pub) then give just one small glass a go, I think you'll be surprised like me.

I'm normally a Gin drinker and had initially bought this as a gift for my friend. However, new lockdown restrictions meant I wasn't able to give this as a gift. Lucky me!Previously, I had drunk vodka and diet coke. I know, but it used to be my go to drink when you were allowed out.As a middle aged G&T drinker I was intrigued to replace my spirit of choice with this vodka. I'm pleased to say that I now prefer vodka to gin. Maybe I was just bored with G&T, but this Black Cow Vodka definitely feels easier to drink. It's smooth and mixes well with tonic. I prefer a simpler flavour. I tried this vodka with a few different Fever Tree's and I liked them all.I preferred the Mediterranean tonic - which will give you an idea of my taste buds.I will buy this again.

A very clean vodka from start to finish. The clarity is wonderful, the nose is dominated by the smell of alcohol but has a fresh scent. The taste is again very clean and has a decent mouthfeel. I was recommended to try it both in the freezer and the fridge, both turned out nicely, with the fridge option being my preference as the freezer didn't thicken the mouthfeel of the spirit as so often happens. I tried all of my drink neat and found the experience very smooth and drinkable. I didn't add a mixer as I wanted to get a pure taste for this English vodka. It was not rough at all, very smooth, the nicest vodka that I have tried to date, it has become a mainstay in my drinks cabinet.

This vodka is unbelievably good. Having visited the distillery and heard the benefits of drinking a vodka with no impurities, and being very sensitive to alcohol and regularly waking up with a headache in the early hours after drinking, I conducted an experiment. On the first night I got pretty smashed on neat black cow over ice, slept like a baby and had no hangover at all the following day, in fact I felt great. For the last ten days I have had no other alcohol and have been using Fevertree tonic as mixer which tastes great. I have had no headaches at all and been sleeping like a baby. It’s amazing stuff, definitely worth paying extra for if you care about your health.

Had a free sample of this when spotting it on the shelves in a London hotel bar and ordered a bottle from Amazon there and then. Overall a smooth vodka with an unusual creamy initial mouth feel. Works great neat on ice or in a martine or such; you can mix it into a long drink but then whats special about the vodka is somewhat lost.Gave another bottle to a Polish friend who strongly believed no one can make as good a vodka as them... they've since sent at least two dozen bottles back to friends/family at home and their cupboard's never without at least one for themselves.

This is the smoothest vodka I've ever had and it's now the only one I drink (in fact, we've added it to our Subscribe & Save!) Delicious in cocktails, you really wouldn't know it's made from milk. I also like the fact that it originated as a way to use the waste products form milk production (an incredibly high-waste process), although I'm not sure if this is still the case. The glass bottles are attractive, very thick and are well packaged, so there's never any worry of it making it through the post and they can be used again as re-usable oil bottles.

Went to the River Cottage festival in Dorset 3 years or so ago and the maker of Black Cow was talking and offering samples. He explained It's actually made from Whey, as a family member makes cheese and they have no need for the whey so would be normally thrown away. That said I have tried many Vodkas but this and Reyka are my favourites as they are the smoothest. Brought Grey Goose for the first time as was on sale at a supermarket chain recently, this Vodka normally retails at £36 but not as good as BC which is cheaper and English!!!!

I was born in Russia and always thought that there's no alternative to a good Russian vodka until I've tried this one just for fun.. I have to admit I was wrong. I do drink for a pleasurable experience of taste and I really appreciate the smoothness and creamy richness of Black Cow Vodka. I would never mix it though as the taste no doubt will varnish and there's plenty of other raff staf you can use for a mix. This one just needs to be enjoyed neat in my opinion. Very well done to a Dorset farmer for bringing such a treat to life.

I had this purchased for me for my birthday back in November (now February). Having tried & loved vodka whilst travelling this planet (particularly love Polish Bison vodka, some Swedish & Finnish, along with a smattering of Japanese). To say I was stunned that what I now consider to be probably the smoothest & nicest vodka in the world comes from my home neck of the woods is an absolute understatement! This has supplanted all others.Best vodka going - Grey Goose eat your heart out you overpriced & tasteless trash.

If someone comes into a bar and askes for a vodka I always recommend them this product. I've been using black cow in all my cocktails for a good number of years now and I personally think it's one of the best and more interesting. Don't be put off the fact that it's made from cows milk, it doesn't taste of milk at all, you just get the creaminess and silkiness of the vodka t the end as it's going down. Really easy to drink and it's lovely to drink chilled and on its own in order to appreciate the taste and feel.

We first found this at a food show, where they were selling it alongside their cheese. We love it, its incredibly smooth, almost creamy in a subtle flavour-like way too. Its lovely drinking it neat, but also mixes well in a martini too. Everyone we let try thinks it is nice too, and doesn't remind them of their run ins with vodka in their youth. We only really have this type of vodka now, as the quality of it doesn't lead to the inevitable headache that Smirnoff leaves you with!(and the bottle is cute too!)

Not a cheap tipple this, but absolutely exquisite and incredibly smooth. It has a subtle creaminess and a texture like velvet.I prefer my vodka extremely cold, I'll typically chill it in the freezer for a minimum of 24 hours before drinking it. However, and here I disagree with one of the other reviewers, I found the Black Cow Vodka was far better just a little cold and kept out of the freezer. Large tumbler, three fingers of Black Cow, two ice cubes - sit back, sip and enjoy.

I do like a good tasty Vodka and have several Russian (grain) and French (grape) favourites. I saw this on offer and was tempted to try it and was completely won over. It really is smooth and I have blind tested it on several friends all of whom remarked on how smooth it was. The smooth milkiness is particularly noticeable in the aftertaste in your mouth. Guaranteed to convert even those who say they dislike spirits. A beautiful drink which I have reordered.

It pains me to say it but I think the story is better than the spirit. The initial taste is harsher than cheaper vodkas but its creamy, faintly milky finish is what sells it. Neat it's great but having tried it in various classic and bespoke cocktails I'm not sold on it as a mixer. Meaning for me it doesn't have the versatility or value for money of a regular similarly priced or even cheaper vodka. Still enjoying experimenting though!

Because this vodka is SO DAMN CREAMY it means you don't need kahlua when shaking up your at home Espresso Martinis - a great ingredient and money saver! Just shove it together with ice, good espresso and maple syrup in a shaker and shake shake shake - you'll have a thick, foamy head on it and it'll pour perfectly into your martini glass. YUM. This vodka is also heavenly neat - best paired with a few slices of Black Cow cheddar.
