I have been so irritated by hard boiling eggs to spend hours shelling them, since using this which is very simple and effective to use, I have been peeling my eggs in seconds so pricking DOES make a difference here! I love my simple little egg pricker which sits in a high cupboard nice and easy to find instead of searching for pins or apple sim card removal tools and balancing on the side...However, it has no safety features, a little person could get hold of this push it down and deeply prick themselves very easily. For me it's no problem we have no kids and safety locks are just added cost and added things to make something work badly/fiddly but if this could be an issue for you this could

Have had one of these for years, and needed a second. Delighted to find they were still available. Simply push the broad end of the egg down onto the collar. The collar is sprung, and as it moves down the pin inside pierces a small hole in the egg shell so that when the air inside expands during boiling, it comes out of the hole instead of cracking the shell.

I nearly didn`t buy this as one of the reviews stated, wrongly, that it was dangerous as the pin stuck out all the time. In fact it is retracted until you press the egg down to make the hole as it is in all the similar eggpricks I have had over the years but which have now become rather discoloured. Have now bought another one for a friend.

Have one like this which has lasted me over 25 yrs but decided to treat myself to a new one as spring not as good and I was not disappointed. In my opinion this type is the best for piercing eggs and half the price or more than the rest

Lost my old egg piercer which I had had for literally decades. This is the only non fail method of boiling an egg and never having the shell crack. Couldn’t be happier with this one.

I've had an egg piercer for years, and was so sad when it finally gave up the ghost, but I have to say this one is much better than my old one. Thanks for a good product!
